I had reserved a top dressing machine to spread some sand to help level my lawn. I had six yards of sand delivered in my driveway the morning of the rental. I drove 30 minutes with my trailer there to pick up the machine only to be told after paying for the machine it was broken. There was no call, no notification, no warning. Over an hour of my day wasted, and now I'm stuck shoveling and spreading the sand by hand which is back breaking work. Not to mention the inconvenience of having the sand pile sitting in my driveway until I can finish the project. Had a simple phone call taken place, I wouldn't have wasted an hour of my day and I wouldn't have ordered the sand pile to begin with. The COMPLETE ABSENCE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I take great pride in my yard and am often asked about it. I will do what ever is possible in what small circle of influence I have to prevent people from shopping here. The only positive is that it was a $100 rental agreement and not a $40,000 patio. read more

I have used this company in the past and it's always been great . But I've never left a review. Last week I needed some mulch delivered and they were booked out a full week. They told me they were booked solid even in our own town . I believed it . The person on the phone was courteous and pleasant even though it took several calls to get through . I could hear the phones ringing in the back ground and I knew it was extremely busy . We decided on pick up. It took a few times to get through so I knew they were swamped . We got mulch dumped into our truck and we needed to make several trips . I think I got a different person every time and they were polite and we got in and out within 10 min . When we got there I couldn't believe the lines and that we were helped so quickly . We are very happy with the mulch we chose . It was burgundy blend . It looks great ! I did read several negative reviews on here ang google reviews . I am quite surprised. They were busy and every time e we called we were treated equally as nice . read more

We rented a backhoe here. Initially, the transaction went smoothly; the machine was delivered early and it was in good condition. The price competitive. We did our work and they picked it up when they said they would. That's where the review should have ended, with more stars. BUT they called soon after, and said they were charging me $50 TO CLEAN THE MACHINE BECAUSE IT WAS DIRTY. OK, really? It's an excavator, it's used to DIG DIRT. Even if this wasn't a ridiculous charge, we cannot use a hose outside to rinse off the machine because of the water ban. I call fowl, Landscaper's Depot, and will be disputing the charge. Ordered expensive 2-3" riverstone for a project. The stone was littered with debris and aggregate. I was told it was screened. I sent pictures showing and proving the inferior quality I was led to believe I was getting. When I asked management to explain and remedy the problem, they said the aggregate was to be expected. When asked why they call it 2-3" stone when 1/4 of it was smaller than 1" they had no response. This is a bad experience and clearly poor management and poor quality at Landscapers Depot. read more

Great super-soil*! I've bought super-soil from two different places this year. At the first place (see my other review) I bought a whole yard and was able to bring it home in my smallish pick-up truck. At home I really got to examine it and I had a hard time finding any soil in the mix. I used it but then started asking around for recommendations. Two people, (one an avid gardener and the other a wholesale nursery owner), highly recommend Landscapers Depot, which was a 20 mile drive for me. The people there were knowledgeable and friendly. I bought some beautiful plants that where priced less than the big-box stores! Then I tried to buy a yard (which was less expensive than the first place) of super-soil but there was no way that they would load that kind of weight in my truck bed. I bought a 1/2 yard and it was far superior to the crappie soil I first bought elsewhere. Next year I'll have them deliver 3-4 yards and it will be well worth the delivery charge. *Super-soil is a mixture of soil & compost. read more

Granted they may be everything everyone accuses them of being in the review section but having been in the trades for over 45 years I personally believe the negative reviews are from individuals suffering from a bad case of green eyes or looking for something for nothing - if you want product for any and all outdoor projects they have it and it's competitively priced - if you want to shop, linger, chit chat & be a pest you can - no one will bother you. Excellent selection of landscaping materials. Knowledgeable staff with free classes on everything you need to know to get large jobs done yourself. I took a retaining wall class and was able to confidently build retaining walls around my driveway. Those walls are now 3 years old are holding up better than others in the neighborhood. The customer service here is terrible. I ordered a substantial amount of stone from LD, and they could not be bothered with me, literally. The rep that was helping me kept rolling her eyes and simply walked away mumbling - I was completely embarrassed. Others I know have experienced the same, and was just there yesterday to return some product and witnessed the manager be extremely rude and condescending to an 82-year old man and his wife - I left stunned. Although they have a solid selection of stone products, I refuse to give them any more business and would rather shop elsewhere. read more

Bad experience overall purchasing a dead tree with little recourse. Had to buy in early spring so tree was "dormant" but assured us it would thrive as warm weather came in. Purchased everything else they recommend to help it grow. Special soil, constant watering system, etc. Tree never budded through spring. Called and they said to give it more time. Gave it a month and nothing. Called again and they said send a photo. Did that but never heard back. Called again they said I would have to go through the manufacturer of the water system we bought WITH the tree. Called them, they said we could not get any of our money back but could have a credit for the tree only and we had to go back and pick out a new tree at the same place. Some time later called to be sure credit was there. Was told I was all set to come in and get a replacement tree and that they were all on sale for 50% off. Went there the next day and picked out a tree but they told me there was no credit on file and nothing they could do. Related my phone confirmation from the day before but it didn't help. I protested so she called someone who said I now had to return the dead tree before I could get credit. They were closing in an hour so I had to rush home, drag the dead tree out from the woods and get it into my truck then drove back with it. Then I was able to get the new tree but they charged me full price when it was on sale for half price to anyone else. Was told that was their policy. read more

This is a very large home improvment store. This store is exactly what you are looking for if yo want to work on the landscaping of your home (hints the name landscapers depot). Most of the store is outdoors, meaning that there is no big building you enter such as home depot. It is all spread out outside and it has just about everything from soils, to woodchips to flowes to stone statues to flowers and just about anything you can think of. It is fantastic. read more

I have had great luck with nursery items. I hav had multiple trees that are in my ground for 3 to 4 years and are thriving!

All these bad reviews are so dumb. They have by far the best selection of anywhere around. They're basically the Walmart of yard stuff, it's a one stop shopping experience. I've personally never had a bad experience with them and I buy nearly all my plants, mulch, stone, and everything else for the yard here. If you don't act like an entitled prick, which is true for all aspects of life, they treat you great and are helpful. They've always informed me of sales and better prices on the plants than what was currently marked. Their delivery prices are insanely good and I loved that I could just mark a spot on the driveway and they would just drop the mulch there. Saved me from having to be home. They're great on the phone, explained the differences between mulches and chemicals in them, which I know was probably annoying with all the questions I had but they didn't seem to mind. Seriously where else can you that had so many plants that it takes you just an hour to see them all? read more

We are doing a patio for the first time and our landscaper told us to look at various products. Gentleman we spoke with very unhelpful. Had to pull the information out of him. Didn't volunteer any information without me asking a question. We own a floor store and try to educate our cust. on the various options and ask questions about their project so they can make an informed decision. When you only do this once or twice you need help with choices and features and benefits. I felt stupid and at a loss when speaking with him. On a positive note they have a great selection and have a lot of the product displayed on the ground labeled and prices on everything in their brochure. read more

I called yesterday to inquire about stock on weeping willows. After calling around to multiple local nurseries and finding none, I figured I would try here. Kayla warmly answered the phone and transferred me to Carol in the nursery. Carol seemed disinterested in my inquiry and rushed me off the phone after quickly telling me she had a Niobe for $185. She didn't leave time for me to ask any additional questions such as whether I could purchase by phone and come to pick it up. I ended up going to Corliss Brothers in Ipswich, which was far from local to me because their phone etiquette and customer service was incredible. They didn't have the exact willow that I wanted, but because of their service, I chose to do business with them. Based on this phone experience, I would probably not shop at Landscaper's Depot. read more

Absolutely bizarre experience. Bought almost $1000 worth of plants one week go. Asked if any sales coming up. I got an eye roll and huff from the manager and was told no. I was a little surprised by the rude reaction, but bought the plants anyhow. Went back today to pick up plants and wanted to exchange one as well as purchase additional plants. The same manager acted like I was a major inconvenience. On top of that, some of the plants that I had purchased 8 days ago were indeed now on sale. Considering my large purchase, I asked if she would honor the sale price. She reluctantly agreed but not without trying to make me feel bad and telling me that she would not warrantee them (not sure what the sale price had to do with the warrantee). It gets better. When I checked out, I was owed a refund. She tried to issue this in the form of store credit. When I voiced misunderstanding, she got aggressive and rude and stated that store credit is how she handles refunds. I then pulled out my receipt and read her her own return polcy which states that returns within 45 days are in the original form of payment. This is where is gets good. She honestly tried to stare me down like a bully! I held my ground and she eventually refunded my credit card. Well, unfortunately she lost a repeat customer (as well as several others whom I had just recently directed here). This is too bad as the plants here are realy nice. The 2 stars are for the nice plants. The manager's customer service sucked. The other people working there were helpful and friendly. I feel bad for them. I should have read these reviews first. After reading them, I am absolutely not surprised at my experience today. read more

They have no clue about customer service. Very rude!!!! Tried to get material delivered but none were available. They recommend that I rent their dump trailer for $15.00 an hour. Not a bad deal I thought so I did. I needed to make 3 trips to get the material I needed. They loaded the dump trailer and I headed home. When I got home the dump trailer won't dump, I tried everything, even put a battery jump pack on it. It wouldn't dump. When I called to ask if there was a trick to it they told me "they thought the material might be too heavy and I would have to shovel some out" are you kidding! I had too shovel at least half, 3500 pounds of material before it would dump. When I returned the guy in charge could have cared less and pretty much told me it was only me. I asked them to deliver the remaining material I already purchased and he said I don't think so. I got my money back and will never give them my business ever again. Extremely rude and could care less if the customer is happy. read more

I called because I had visited their website (which I thought was very helpful) and when I attempted to order a particular stone I was informed that because stone is a natural product the color can vary. I was told that the stone I was interested was running much darker than the pictures. I really didn't want to make the trip but they convinced me to come in. I was very happy that I did, the stone was much darker and my wife ended up liking it better. While there my wife visited their nursery...she loved it! So many healthy beautiful plants and a very knowledgeable sales staff. Everyone there was exceptionally helpful and they were able to deliver both my stone and my wife's plants all in one delivery. Overall very positive experience and we will definitely be back next spring! read more
