Scratches on leather furniture that I was told would withstand pets and it hasn't even been 2 weeks
    Pamela M.

Has anyone had any issues with Gardner White not standing by there products and honoring incorrect information that a salesperson told you regarding a product, just to make a sale? I'm having issues with my leather furniture that they told me would withstand pets, when I specifically told them I didn't want their nails to ruin leather, and I was going with cloth. I only had the furniture for 10 days, when noticed scratches, called on the 11th day in the morning, only to get the run around that someone would be out to fix it, and the on the 12th day when I called corporate, I was told too bad, nothing will be done for animal damage, and exchanges can only happen within 7 days (which I was never told of until I called for an exchange)!!!

Will not make me a satisfied customer Good morning this is Kathy Hemphill and I had purchased a base and a mattress totaling over $2,600 from your sales manager at Pyour 14 mile store her name was Basma Sadeq After three attempts with service and nine different technicians trying to fix this headboard and base it's not the way I was explained it would be it doesn't fit and it's not sitting flush to the floor it's a danger to my health and it's to where I think it's going to collapse I'm a handicapped person I came into the store and talk to Bosnia and we went through each bed frame and she said that would be a good one for it's from your Serta line please give me a call so we can resolve this I would just like to have a regular mattress foundation with my mattress that I purchased from you thank you

After discussing the finance options we decided to fill out the necessary application for financing and he told us to have a look around while he submitted our information to James Lyons.

The design process started off smoothly -- the team was friendly and helpful in finalizing the design. However, once we agreed on the table and paid in full upfront (something we were uncomfortable with but were assured was fine), everything went downhill. The original completion date was supposed to be mid-August, but there was almost no communication from the store about progress. I had to repeatedly reach out for updates, only to eventually learn that the company making the table base (outside of Michigan) had "stopped responding to their emails" for nearly a month. That delay pushed our project back significantly, with no clear timeline ever provided. When we were finally invited to see the finished table, the quality was disappointing. The metal legs had visible scratches, and the copper top had several imperfections -- bubbles in the surface (caused by uneven glue adhesive) and areas that looked like staples under the metal. When I pointed these out, the owner responded rudely, even asking, "Have you ever ordered custom furniture before? This isn't Wayfair." That comment was unnecessary and unprofessional, especially after spending over $3,000 and waiting months for the piece. She explained that fixing the flaws would require redoing the entire top and said "this is just how custom pieces are." She also claimed the showroom table looked the same, but when we compared them, it clearly did not. The owner eventually agreed to make "adjustments," though she was dismissive about timelines and updates. She later offered to refund us and keep the table, implying I was "too upset" to be satisfied -- which felt unfair, considering our frustrations were justified. After further discussion, she agreed to fix the issues and deliver the table the following Monday. When it arrived, the "repairs" were unacceptable. The legs had simply been spray-painted over, one of the staple marks was sanded down leaving a burn ring, and new bubbles appeared on the copper top. Again, I had to reach out for follow-up. The owner reiterated her offer to take the table back and refund us, but by that point, starting over with another company would have meant waiting months more. When I asked for compensation due to the poor craftsmanship, she rudely offered only $200, though they did waive the $175 delivery fee since we lived outside of Detroit. Overall, the experience was incredibly frustrating. The customer service felt polite until we paid -- after that, it became dismissive and condescending. The quality of the final product does not reflect the price or the promises made. Bottom line: Woodward Throwbacks may have appealing designs, but if you're looking for reliable communication, professional customer service, or high-quality custom work, I cannot recommend them.

UPDATE 12-2017: Wow-not sure what to say. This place was so near and dear for so long, but I…read moredon't want to mislead you. You can't really get into that massive main building anymore, it is so packed with stuff. The outside area as well. You will have to find someone to let you into both now. Mary does though have another building down the block a bit, and this is worth checking out. My Original Review: Well, here we go-Yelp Resale Shopping: Extreme Edition!! I have a "unique" sense of decor and a refusal to cough up designer scratch for my quirky finds. This demands copious garage and estate sale-ing, flea-marketing, and thrifting, and I've gluttonously indulged these passions all across our great, junk-laden land. Seasoned as I am, one magical day some years ago I walked into a nondescript place on Schoenherr in Warren and just about passed clean out. I distinctly remember the breath being sucked out of my chest as my peepers struggled to take in the largest assemblage of objects I'd ever seen, let alone for sale. Standing there agape, my mind stuttered, its circuitry blown. Eventually the shock subsided and I was able to delve in and begin exploring. Imagine thousands of estate sales piled on top of each other as far as the eye can see. Upon entering, you'll see a ton o' things sitting outside, though the lion's share is in the building on the left. There's another one at the back right (through a fenced area) that some people don't know is part of this emporium. There are main aisles with offshoots, though many passageways that once were traversable are too clogged with stuff now to get through. Furniture, tools, art, household items, electronics, clothing, all manner of everything. As if all this is not enough, the fabulous Mary is the undisputed queen of her domain and she reigns as such. ALWAYS put things back where you got them from-she will KNOW and never forget! Nothing is priced-you either take the things to her to talk price or bring her to it if it's big. Don't haggle too much-remember who is the queen! I've seen slick dealer-types try to get over on her only to be sent packing with their tail between their legs amidst a torrent of verbal abuse! Though Mary is a quirky character of a certain age, she's smart as a whip and takes no crap. Tax is figured in her head after you agree on a price, and be ready with a figure from jump-she often starts by asking what you want to pay. She often is very fair though, and I've found some wonderful treasures here for a steal. I adore this woman. When I was younger, Mary would sometimes make me tell her why I needed a particular item and if my reason wasn't up to snuff she'd say "What do you need this for save your money!" and refuse the sale! Once I was browsing in the sun at her place when I suddenly began to faint for real, an unknown side effect of some meds I was on. This was before cell phones, so she had me stay there with her til I felt well enough to drive home. Spending several hours with Mary in her palace o' stuff is something I shan't soon forget, and I'll always be grateful for her kindness. After caring for me all day, she said "Don't tell anybody I was nice I'll get a bad reputation!" Normally I would not think twice about giving this junky wonderland five stars, as I'd easily road trip across many states to experience this gem and here it is in our backyard. The only drawback is the ever-growing olfactory assault. Along with some serious musty smells, she has taken to feeding area cats and the liquid emitted therefrom has permeated certain areas to the point that I'm worried some of the stuff is unsellable. For years I've kept this place a closely guarded secret-for a long time there was no signage out front at all. So there ya go-if you're up for adventure, here's a wild corner of the world.
