I have purchased clothing for myself, my 2 children and my husband from the Salvation Army for over 20 years. Our son, now nearly 20, will only shop at Salvation Army for his own clothes. Daughter, just over 21, only shops retail. She then gets depressed when she sees the same items at Salvation Army a few months (or a year) later! My 4 favorite Salvation Army stores are the one on Van Dyke in Centerline, the one on Dodge Park in Sterling Heights, the one on Gratiot in Roseville and the one on Harper and 13 Mile in St Clair Shores. They are close to my house and well taken care of. They are always clean. I prefer buying second hand items. It saves the landfills for awhile. read more

The Salvation Army Thrift Store - Thrift Stores Near Me - Center Line, Michigan

This location took all their bedding, material, and linens off of hangers and dumped them on tables so you can "dig" through it. Really? During COVID especially, this is a good idea??? It's so inconvenient. Why take a good thing and make it difficult and unsanitary? I tried to tell a manager, in a nice way, so that hopefully she could relay it back to upper management. This manager (black, short gray hair, glasses) was just extremely rude. Wasn't trying to be mean, but just let them know. Nope. I might as well have been some loud mouth jerk and called names for all the respect I got. I won't not be back there any time soon. read more

I went there to donate some valuable items: A like-new TV set with remote, HP printer with new unopened cartridge, 2 Husky rechargeable worklights, a set of framed, matted artwork, and a bag full of freshly laundered clothes. As I parked next to the drop off area, a porcine woman with greasy blond ponytail waddled up to me: "We do NOT accept donations on Monday. We ONLY accept them Tuesday through Friday. You see those bags over there? Those are all going in the garbage because they're WET. You can just come back another day because you can NOT leave your stuff here today!" She then stomped off without another word. Really? First of all, what someone else left overnight in the rain is not my problem. Second of all, what difference does it make which day you get donations? Third, how about a "good morning," a "thank you," a "I'm so sorry, but..."? No apologies, no professionalism, just a surly, rude broad bellowing orders like she was in the Marine Corps. I turned around and gave everything to St. Vincent's. Never coming here again. read more

Need to go back to HELPING customers move their large purchases . Its appalling that no one is allowed to help. The very nature of your business is "MOVING' THINGS around .. if someone is kind enough to want to buy a furniture item, then help them move it to their car ... they say its because employee was hurt but who really knows? So what happens WHEN A customer is hurt trying to wrangle an item out the crappy doors they have, ....then the "flat beds" they provide so you can "do it yourself" are so heavy and unmanageable its ridiculous. What happens when an item falls off the dolly and hits an innocent child who is shopping with their parents? I have seen people trying to take things out and they are nearly injured attempting to move the item. There will be lawsuits .... read more

I shop here A lot. It's a little overpriced, but I still like the hugh selection of clothing and shoes and household items and the friendly is staff. read more

Super expensive for a thrift store. Very unorganized. Staff is nice tho. It was the same way before they changed locations and moved across van dyke. Their prices weren't as high tho before. This store had the rudest employees. I was checking out after waiting 25 minutes with one person in line and I had a question and another employee told me it was time for me to check out. Unfortunately they have no manager on staff who could help me so she told me it was time to check out and move on at that time I decided I should just move on without my purchase and they could figure out how to cancel my purchase. That's when the employee decided she should call me rude. I would not recommend the store to anyone. Don't waste your time as there are better Salvation army's to shop at. Unfortunately, the yelp app makes me give the store a One star rating before it will post the review. read more

Great deals and and fairly wide selection variety. Love their book prices and daily deals! Furniture is also very well-priced! I'll keep coming back. New items daily!!!!
