There are bus stops a few feet away depending on where you're going and which bus you're taking. There are lots of restaurants and cafes in this area. The hotel is beautiful outside and inside. I'm also about smells - this hotel smells fresh and clean. We left our backpacks here when we arrived in the morning and did the preliminary check-in process so that when we came back to check-in in the afternoon, all we had to to do was grab our room key and our backpacks. The lobby is quite nice. There's a beautiful restaurant with a nice view of the lake. There's a nice gym on the top floor. You can workout with a view of the lake. There's a spa area. However, it's uncomfortably hot in the gym. The room was beautiful. It was spacious and we had a balcony with a table and chairs so you can enjoy the view while eating breakfast or a snack. The fridge has bottles of water, soda and juice. There are also bottles of water on the nightstand. The bathroom is quite small. L'occitane toiletries. You get robes and slippers. Plenty of TV channels from all around the world. As long as I get British channels, I'm all set. And American shows dubbed in a different language is always funny to me. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. It was very quiet. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

I have been traveling thousands and thousands of miles for 24 hours including an hour and a half train ride to get here and I'm sitting in the lobby falling asleep because my room is not ready and it's almost 3 o'clock in the afternoon. European hotels always know you're arriving early in the day and I've even checked in at some hotels around 11 to 12. . I'm titanium. I stayed over 100 nights last year at Marriott and I'm just not going to do that this year because they just don't have the service that they should have for someone that stays that many nights. The desk is very busy now checking people in and I'm pretty sure I'm sitting here forgotten not to mention that my room rate included breakfast and I appreciate the upgrade. They gave an upgrade to me based on my status, but when they did that, they dropped off my breakfast that was included with my room. I don't eat much for breakfast anyway, so it is what it is. I'm not gonna argue with them since they seem to think I'm making it up. I've been coming here because I came here with my husband who died recently, and I've been coming here in his memory to Switzerland once a year and I've been coming to the hotels that he and I stayed at, but I think perhaps it's time to make new memories and find new places to stay.. I definitely think it's not suitable for the price.

La Reserve is not in my opinion the absolute best location nor is the architecture the most beautiful. But, where they may be weak in those categories, they make up the distance and more by providing amazing service, spa and culinary experience offered to there guests. We had the pleasure of staying in the resort for a couple weeks during our daughters involvement with a Juilliard music program in Geneva. You know when you have reached the height of of customer service when all the staff addresses you by name and has a sincere concern for your well being. That is how we felt by the time we had to depart. Like making a new family. We will be in Geneva next summer and for sure we will be staying at La Reserve.

Be prepared to walk, walk, and walk some more…read more Walk off the plane. Walk more to passport control. Walk a long line to get your passport stamped and be asked the questions as you walk through customs and into Switzerland, only to walk more to the baggage claim to where you stand a good while to greet your luggage many minutes after your plane has landed and you stress as you think the same thing I always think about, did my luggage actually make it on the plane? Then you breathe a sigh of relief as you walk again to the train station which is a solid walk from the baggage claim as you then take a train into town, or in my case, a train to Lausanne, and then walk again to the train and maybe have to stand on the train because you waited until the ultimate last minute to buy a ticket. At which point you almost wish you had someplace to sit down. Not the best way to greet people into a gorgeous country, but at least things do improve from there (and believe me, they do).

There is a beach so you can…read moreswim in the lake, a small swimming pool, a small children's play area, a small shop, an amazing living room with white sofas, ikea furniture and a big flat screen TV, a small shop, helpful staff and a great restaurant where you are serenaded by frogs in the neighbouring nature reserve. We rented a pre-erected tent and were very happy with our real beds, the fridge and cooker - camping light. And the showers were warm and clean. What more could you want? We did go in the summer half term so it wasn't at all busy. It might be different in the summer when it gets busy. For us it was a laid back way to visit Geneva with two children with plenty of space for them to run around in. And don't forget to ask for your FREE travel card. for the length of your stay you can travel on trains, trams buses and even boats free thanks to the city of Geneva. It is brill.

Wir sind früher schon in feste Installationen der verschiedensten Campingplätze gewesen, aber was wir hier erhielten war schlicht eine Katastrophe. Nach öffnen der Zelttür kam uns eine unerträglicher Schimmelgeruch entgegen. Es war alles unsauber, selbst die Haare des letzten Mieters waren noch überall zu finden. Dieser vorgefundene Zustand entsprach maximal 0 Sternen. Weswegen es doch noch zwei Sterne gibt ist das wirklich fantastische Personal und die Leitung. Wir haben sofort reklamiert und auch den Zustand gezeigt, worauf dann alles unternommen wurde diesen Zustand zu verbessern. Dies ist auch wirklich voll gelungen. Nach Beendingung der general Reinigung war nichts mehr vom Schimmel zu riechen, Geschweige denn, zu sehen. Dieser war sichtbar am Fenstergitter des Küchenfensters. Hier wuchsen fast schon graue Bärte. Nach der Reinigung sah alles viel besser aus. Bewirkt hat unser Klagen auch folgendes. Als die benachbarten Bungalows frei wurden, wurden auch diese einer Gründlichen Reinigung unterzogen. Wenn das so bleibt könnten es auch wieder mehr Sterne in unseren Augen geben. Jedoch auch nur zwei, weil es an einigen Sachen mangelte. Die man als Camper eigentlich erwartet. Vernünftiges Geschirr usw.. Selbst in PAris auf dem Camping Bois de Boulogne war mehr an Küchenmaterial vorhanden als hier. Renovierungsbedürftig sind auf alle Fälle die Sanitären Anlagen. Wofür auch die Leitung nichts kann ist das Verhalten der Gäste. Wie die Axt im Walde unfreundlich und viele Nachdem Moto: Hier wird ja gereinigt Manche haben sich benommen wie die Schweine. Auch zwei Sterne nur weil dadurch das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis wirklich nicht mehr stimmt. Absolut überteuert, auch für die teuerste Stadt der Welt. Für Zeltcamper auf der Durchreise ist der Platz trotz allem eine Empfehlung und hier würde ich ihm tatsächlich vier sterne geben. Da wirklich viel platz für alle vorhanden ist und der Platz wirklich herrlich liegt. Mit direktem Seezugang. Trotzdem glaube ich nicht das wir diesen Platz wieder aufsuchen werden. Positioned half way between Montureux and Vevey, this is a gorgeous little campsite, hidden just…read moreoff the main road. I believe that it is open in spring summer and Autumn - although you might get away with putting a tent here in the colder months. It is right on the lake front - has plentiful grassy tent and caravan sights and has very private area's for swiming and sunbathing. It's set down from the road so it is very quiet as well. There are bar facilities with tables set right at the water front. The staff are extremely friendly and were fluent in and welcoming to English speakers. I believe that they have occasional bands playing and small festivals but it otherwise seems like a very quiet and family friendly venue. Vevey or Montreux are each about a 20 minute walk around the lake in either direction. Busses stop out the front so it would be an easy venue to get to by public transport. This is a little gem of a place. It's a tranquil, quiet and beautiful location. The Alps soaring over the lake are something that have to be seen to be appreciated. But from here you can also enjoy all the night life and other adventures to be had in two of Switzerlands most cosmopolitan towns. (Well Montreux is anyway - but Vevay is also cool!)
