If you want to drive, there seemed to be a decent amount of parking at Grand Montets, but I didn't see where the parking was for Brevent, so I can't vouch for it there. The front desk staff all spoke english, and were happy to help with understanding the bus and setting up non-skiing activities if you want to take a break from the slopes for a day. The rooms are standard European-lodge; lots of wood paneling, not overly large, but sufficient. The views from the balconies are amazing though, right up the side of the mountains, and if your room faces south-east you will also get to see the glaciers coming off the top of Mount Blanc, which is impressive. The breakfast spread is impressive; the usual meats and cheeses (hard and soft, this is France after all), plus delicious baguettes (again, France), eggs, tarts, granolas, etc. The waitress will ask if you want coffee, and there is a juice machine at the buffet line. Dinner was also quite good, and the dessert spread is amazing so make sure you save plenty of room. There is also a bar/sitting room at the bottom of the stairs for apres ski beverages, and in the basement you will find a hot tub, sauna, and a ski room with boot drying racks. Overall a good choice, but if you want to be able to walk into downtown for dinner or drinks after changing, you might want to stay closer to town.

They're filling the rooms with bus tours, but les touristes are pretty cool, without some of the weirdness at other supposedly 3-star places (Vacanciel, I'm calling you out). The proprietors are everywhere, working 16-hour days, and they clearly are in this long-term and going to make it work, or die trying. Les Bossons is a bit out of the center of Chx and is nice and quiet. If you want parties and late nights, stay in town. If you want value and OH MY GOD THE VIEWS, then consider staying here. We were very happy here.

Funivie Monte Bianco Skyway is the cable car that goes from the ground outside Courmayeur up to the…read moresummit of Mont Blanc. The cars are actually very large round cars that hold about 50 people. They turn very slowly so you have a 360 degree view as you travel up Mont Blanc. Along the way, there is a first stop that doesn't go all the way up the mountain. The first stop is very serene. It is beautiful. There is a restaurant and a snack bar. There are also lounge chairs outside so you can hang out and enjoy the scenery. The summit was wonderfully cold in August. I loved it! The scenery was undeniably gorgeous. Words cannot describe the natural beauty at the summit. If you want to warm up inside there are sitting areas and some educational information. The cost to go to the summit was under 40 Euros per person which makes this one of the more reasonably priced cable cars in the area. To get to the skyway from France you will need to go through the Mont Blanc Tunnel. It is about a 40 Euro toll to go through the tunnel which is very long. From the town it was a very short drive to Mont Blanc and the skyway from Courmayeur is less expensive than from the French side.

The hotel has such a fun vibe. It's just buzzing with energy. Rooms are tiny but clean and well appointed (there's a wall mounted towel warmer so you can hand wash and dry some of your clothes here). The breakfast spread was wonderful. There was fruit, sausage, mushrooms, eggs, chia seed pudding, pastries, juices etc. I had dinner one night here and got a burger and it was fresh and filling. I would stay at RockyPop again, and would recommend to family and friends (esp those coming in larger groups) who don't mind a short trek into Chamonix.

Our room was clean and had a good amount of Space. The hotel is about 15/20 minute bus ride into Chamonix but the prices are far cheaper than anything in the city directly. They have a delicious restaurant where I had one of the best cheese pizzas of my life. There are a lot of activities at the hotel and it is very lively. The only thing is they DO NOT do bag check if you arrive early. We were lucky enough to check in early however you can't store bags here. Would stay again. I really enjoyed my visit overall.

I spent so much time looking for a place to stay and there are plenty of chalets and apartments in Chamonix but most require a minimum of a 1 week stay. What's great about SnoStation is that they run several properties in the area so they'll provide what's available within your budget and range. I was able to book a 2 bedroom (4 person max) for 4 nights from Sat - Wed for only 630 euros (yes, a bargain!). It was in a great convenient location with bars, supermarket, equipment rental shop and bus stop that are minutes away. The place was really cozy - probably ideal for a family as the bunk bed room was so small and without any windows, but at the end of the day you barely spend time there anyway. It was nice having a full kitchen. What really impressed me was how helpful they are in arranging anything from lessons to lift passes and airport transfers. I'd highly recommend booking through them if this is your first time in Chamonix.
