One of the standout features was the public transportation--everything is incredibly well organized. The train station was easy to locate right from the airport, and getting on board was simple. From there, it's convenient to travel to other major cities without any hassle. Another highlight was the customs process. Going through passport control was quick, modern, and completely touchless, making the entire experience feel seamless and efficient. Overall, Geneva Airport is clean, well-run, and very traveler-friendly. Highly recommend.

Minus one star for tourist confusion. I guess they assume that everyone knows what all the numbers & symbols mean. Good luck figuring where to stand. Like other large cities, make a beeline to your seat. Behaviors you will receive scorn for: man spreading, piling your stuff on the seat next to you, otherwise hogging the empty seat. God knows what will happen to you if you litter. Some of the local stops are only announced in Swiss German. Keep a lookout for your destination.

The large computerized departure board is at the main entrance over the escalators. Departure platforms are posted 30-45 prior. Yelp Review 2026 #167:…read more I've gotten used to clean, organized train stations from all the cities and towns I've been to in Switzerland. Gare de Genève Cornavin seemed like I wasn't in Switzerland anymore. It was chaotic and definitely some sketchy characters walking around asking for money. There's no police/ security. Yes, they have a lot of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants at the station. You can also catch buses here. You have to pay attention to which station you need to be catching a bus from (arranged alphabetically but not in consistent order which was frustrating). Catching a bus is nuts. There's about 6 bus lines per station with at least 10 people waiting blocking the entrance to the main train station. It's only quiet here from 9pm-8am. I've caught a bus/ train at different times of the day. The busiest is in the afternoon but it's not like you have much of a choice if you need to be somewhere.

Track, time, rail line etc. I found the station very clean and very friendly with a police presence that was willing to help if you had questions. The tourist information booth was in plain sight and provided lots of pamphlets, maps and recommendations for just about anything you need. I was amazed at how many trains were going to so many places around Europe. Again my first experience in a train station so I was a little bit in aww. lol With a nice selection of food court and retail shops you could use to kill some time if you were early for your connection. And a short walk to many traditional Swiss restaurants right on the Reuss river where it meets Lake Luzern. But be warned. Trains arrive and depart on time! So don't get distracted with the shops. Lol All in all a very quick but nice experience. I would definitely be ok with traveling by train again.

Yelp Review 2026 #114:…read more When you stay in Interlaken, you have two options: stay close to Interlaken Ost or stay close to Interlaken West. Both have pros and cons depending on what you value. If you want a quiet area and plan to go to Harder Kulm, Grindelwald, Jungfrau, and Lauterbrunnen - stay close to Interlaken Ost. If you like shopping, lots of restaurant options, nightlife and plan to take a cruise to Lake Thun a stay close to Interlaken West. If you're taking a train to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald - be sure to pay attention to the labels on the floor. Everyone good on. The same train number but you don't want to hop on the wrong carriage. The train splits in Zweilütschinen. If you have 1st class ticket, you might want to slum it out in 2nd class on the right carriage or keep walking til you see a 1st class carriage and risk getting left behind! It's just one train ride, you'll live! On the way back to Interlaken Ost, there will be 1st vs 2nd class carriages. If you only paid for 2nd class tickets, do not hop on the 1st class carriage. Yes, there's a lot of people in 2nd class and you'll end up standing because there's no seat available but that doesn't give you the right to go to 1st class. There's always somebody checking your ticket. It made for good entertainment for me guessing who didn't have 1st class tickets but were in the 1st class carriage - I got 3/3 correct! It's always the ones who watch videos on speaker. This is where 1st class tickets become more obviously better. There's always seats in 1st class. It's quieter. There's no store, cafe, restaurant at the station per se. However, you'll find plenty around the station.

It's no wonder why this has become a very popular resort village. Even the views between the houses and shops were amazing. It was a dream come true. A place that we always wanted to visit together. The seats are a bit narrower even in first class with a 2-1 configuration vs 2-2 configuration in second class.
