There were 100+ local artists showing over 500 pieces of art. They had free pancakes. There was alcohol for purchase at Lincoln theater bar. The staff here were pleasant, attentive and welcoming. The Lincoln theater was not the best venue for this event but they did the best with would they had. The space seems most ideal for the concerts and for standing but was very difficult maneuvering around freely. Needed more physical space to consume and fully appreciate the art. I enjoyed engaging with all of the artist. One of my favorites that was an extreme stand out was Ankit Nagar. Many of Ankit's pieces were so calming and the colors spoke to me. I do recommend the Art Show. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. I enjoy Art. I purchase prints whenever I feel moved but I have yet to be able to obtain original Art. That's a goal of mine.

My only complaint was the maxing out of the volume on the sound system, when the bands all played, without hearing protection it was impossible to hear the lyrics. And those that didn't bring hearing protection ended up with a ringing in their ears the following day! The bar was great, I was dismayed when I found out that soda water had a charge above the entrance fee, since part of my tip went toward their register, but somebody has to pay for the bubbles out of their tap! If I go again, I will be certain to bring some extra sets of earplugs for the people that come with me.

I would hope any establishment would take something like that seriously. This season they will have produced six shows just for the Raleigh area. So far this season has been amazing with West Side Story; Having Our Say and Kinky Boots. The final three shows are Memphis; Edges and The Sound of Music and I can't wait to see those. I think it is really great that local talent can showcase their abilities in the Triangle area. Some of the cast does comes from New York City but others cast members are from the Triangle area. The orchestra is local as well and the crews needed to put the shows together. It takes a lot of people to put together these shows and NC Theatre is great for the local economy. But most importantly great for those of us who love watching the performances.
