We stayed at the Badrutt's Palace as part of my milestone birthday plans with my girlfriends…read more I'm sad to say, Badrutt's Palace turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the trip. We spent about 7,500 CHF for two connecting rooms for two nights in the basic category rooms. And these are the reasons why I am giving the Badrutt's one star: - When we arrived, at about 330pm we were told one of our rooms were not ready, because of a 'technical issue'. The official check in time was 3pm. They told us to expect the room to be ready by 530pm. Meanwhile, they offered us "complimentary tea at the Grand Hall". - The complimentary tea turned out to be a frame of small bites that was too little for the three of us, so we ordered one club sandwich and also some water. We were charged for the sandwich and water which turned out to be 75CHF. - At 530pm we went up to check into the room that was ready, as the connecting one still wasn't ready yet. It turned out that the 'technical issue' were guests who hadn't checked out. I saw the service staff cramming clothes and belongings into bags while they tried to clear out the room. - The rooms were really small. This I had heard and I thought it was acceptable considering the location of the hotel. What I did not expect was the general shabbiness of the place. Furnishings looked worn and tired. And the carpet wasn't clean. I do my nightly stretches on the carpet, and found myself cheek to cheek to some dirt / soil. I was hoping that it came from the last guest in their hurry to check out and not some vintage dirt from winter 2022. - For the next two days, we found the staff generally distracted and too busy to attend to us, whether it be a request for a kettle, a charger, soft boil eggs at breakfast, water to the table or an ice pack. Things either never materialized or you needed to remind them three times before they arrived. - On the last day of our stay, I encountered a small crash on the slopes and tore my ACL. After making it back to the hotel, I called the front office to inform them about the injury, and potential need for alternative arrangements for dinner. Their reply was, "There will be a cancellation policy of 200CHF per person if you decide to cancel dinner" - I wasn't prepared to pay 600CHF for no dinner and to mooch in a small room so I said I will go ahead with dinner, but could I please have a wheelchair to bring me to dinner. They said, of course we will bring it up immediately. We waited 1.5 hours for the wheelchair which never materialized. Finally I hobbled to the front desk to find out they had "lost the wheelchair". I was puzzled why we were not informed any earlier. I feel extremely cheated out of what I thought was going to be a luxury experience. We are not un-used to paying high prices for 5-star accommodations but for this price, this level of service and general standards of the property are unacceptable.

I've stayed in quite a few mid priced (for St Moritz) hotels in St Moritz and this is my favorite…read more The location is great, it is near to the main restaurants and bars, shops and has easy access to the lifts to ski. The rooms are functional and a plus is certainly the huge closet with plenty of hangers (one of my pet peeves is that a lot of hotels have about three hangers, where are you supposed to hang your clothes) plus the big full length mirrors with good day light. I absolutely love the breakfast room with view on the frozen lake and the selection is quite good. The quality of the food in the buffet is great and I love you can have your eggs cooked by the chef. But most importantly the service is always great, the team is always friendly and willing to help. Only downside I would say that it get's pricey on busy weekends and that the room has no iron (but they offer reasonable priced and quick iron service in house). Would recommend!

Yelp Review 2026 #103:…read more I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Waldhaus am See on St. Moritz. It's across the train station which is about 8-10 minutes walk uphill. Don't use Google Maps because it'll make you go around the station, through a tunnel, cross streets that will take you farther from where you need to go be. It made us walk for 30 minutes! Good thing we had our luggage sent to our next destination and all we had were backpacks. The location is spectacular. Aside from being close to the train station, it's on a hill next to the lake with breathtaking views of mountains in the backdrop. I enjoyed soaking in the views in the morning before going on an adventure and at night when I'm ready to rest. Next to the lobby is a restaurant with the same views. Our stay included breakfast. We didn't get to eat here since our days were packed. But the nicest touch was they packed us breakfast with iced tea, bottled water, chocolate wafer, a big and thick sandwich, hardboiled eggs and fresh fruits. The room was spacious and clean. Slippers provided. The bed was comfy. I had restful sleep at night. It was quiet my whole stay.

Room: * We stayed in the new section and had taken an 'upgrade' to a Deluxe room. Very spacious room and a bathroom with all amenities including a steam room, but a separate toilet would have been nice when they designed these rooms. * Temperature in the room could not be controlled and at the reception they could not help us. Opening the windows was the only option, but then you have to consider the traffic - earplugs are recommended. * Various luminous elements in the room, so a sleep mask is certainly useful. It would be handy if these luminous elements could somehow be darkened. Wellness facilities are available but limited. A friend of us stayed in a standard room which has everything necessary but a very small shower (70 cm by 70 cm).

The Grace hotel is one of the newer establishments in St Moritz and I absolutely love it…read more I am a big fan of St Moritz and my friends and I try to come several times a year to have some fun and good food and drinks. We typically have a full list of bars and restaurants planned so we usually don't stray too much of the beaten path. So it was a bit of luck that landed us in the Grace hotel, since we were early for our lunch appointment and we didn't have anywhere to go, so we checked out this new hotspot. It was an immediate hit: the staff was super friendly and accommodating, the cocktails great and a nice atmosphere. Their espresso martini was one of the best I've had and I've been on a quest to find the best espresso martini so I had a lot recently. Furthermore, all the other cocktails were absolutely delicious! We loved it so much that we went back three more times that weekend and each time the Grace hotel delivered. It is across the train station so a little tiny bit outside the centre but if the weather is not too bad the walk is not far and definitely worth it. Cannot wait to come back and see more of this hotel! Recommended!
