Parking could be better, but even on hot sunny days, we can usually find a free spot. There is a playground, a big gazebo right on the water, covered picnic tables, swinging benches, docks, a small "beach" area, and a gorgeous view all the way up and down the walking path! It's a fabulous place for a picnic! And the FOOD possibilities are endless! You are barely minutes away from fast food, ice cream, and hidden gem restaurants. Highly recommend!

In the summertime this area is booming. There's a nice open picnic area, a large pavilion, and a smaller pavilion with large built-in grill. Obviously the biggest attraction in the park is the lake. Surprisingly there were actually a few small boats out on the water in this frigid cold. Great place to check out but I'd recommend doing it on a warmer day!

Loved walking along the creek, so many wildlife to view. There's a nice bridge to walk over and a pond we saw. There's a few lodged to rent all looked nice from the outside. Beautiful new park on the Webster side of the sandbar that runs between Lake Ontario and…read moreIrondequoit Bay, where cottages line both sides of the road, and ends at a marina when the bridge is closed (Spring, Summer, and Autumn). Castaways is visible from the park. There is ample parking, with a lot on each side of the street, as well as a lane designated for it in the street. Nice, new landscaping featuring mostly flowering varieties of shrubs (hydrangea, Spirea, Viburnums, etc.) There are benches galore for folks to look out at the lake and contemplate. The bay side features a boardwalk that can accommodate the docking of several boats. The lake side features a playground for the kiddos, a shaded area, as well as some Adirondack chairs. Some folks bring their own chaise loungers or folding chairs to enjoy the weather and sights. Lots of folks are reading under trees (mostly large cottonwoods), there are a few bikes going by, but there are mostly pedestrians. There are a couple of unisex bathrooms featuring Dyson hand dryers. Today is a Saturday in July 2024, the temp is 80°F, with 50% humidity and clear skies, and I'm surprised that there aren't way more folks here. They might be watching the Olympics, as they just started today. Their loss...

A park inside a park! Washington Grove deserves its own review separate from the glory of Cobbs…read moreHill, though it is located adjacent to it. It is easy to miss from every entrance if you aren't careful. I've been exercising and walking the dog at Cobb's Hill for ~6 years and just this winter break finally made the walk down/up into the Grove. Accessible from Nunda Blvd OR the Reservoir, you can hike around the forest area and eventually be lead up to a gorgeous display of public water tower art. There are gorgeous murals here. Some of Rochester's top artists have left their mark and you can walk around both towers to see what pieces speak to you most. There were families exploring the day I was here, even though it was a chilly day. Don't wait many years to explore this part of the park like I did. Get over there and breathe in some fresh air!

It became a popular destination that unfortunately brought it so much foot traffic the small park had trouble maintaining the trail. Mendon ponds stepped in to help relocate all the fairy houses, doors and adorable tree bridges in 2019. The detail on some of these items are incredible. My favorite is the tree stump that serves as a tic tac toe board, played with bee and lady bug rocks!

I enjoyed sitting here watching the boats go by as I drank my coffee. Great people watching spot too. Lots of plaques with area history and canal facts. Great spot.

This is a beautiful trail right along the Erie canal. Theres a parking lot and benches to sit along…read morethe way. My only complaint is there isnt garbage cans along the trail for all you dog owners, including myself.
