Great trail! There are SO many places to start, and so many places to veer off. They have signs…read morethroughout telling you which branch of the trail to take if you want to go to Main St, or Budd Park, etc. We noticed quite a few benches and tables on our way through, a swing, and at least 4 exercise stops. It looked manicured and well taken care of. We walked the trail to Budd Park and then swung around and took town streets back to the car for fun!

Due to irresponsible campers and a string of undesirable incidents that happened over this past summer the campground NY state has transferred to the village of Macedon. It will be a day-use only park. However, we are grateful to be one of the last overnight campers. It really is a wonderful park. The Butterfly trail is beautiful and easy loop. I highly recommend spending the day fishing, boating or pinicing.

Parking is within easy reach of the Canalway Trail--and the walkway over the massive east gate of the New York Canal System's Lock E-30 is pretty cool. The park features potable water, toilets, picnic shelter, grills and a boat launch, which also makes it a great location for no-wake boating, kayaking and canoeing. The remnants of historic Lock 60, built in the 1860's, is linked to this park by trails beautified and maintained by the local Butterfly Nature Trail Volunteers group. Informal tent campsites are available for bikers-hikers-boaters, and convenience stores, restaurants and other amenities are located nearby in the Village of Macedon.

I haven't had to leave a subpar rating in so long!…read more We came here for the trail, because the photos we found online looked beautiful. It's about 2 miles long and sounded like a perfect fit! We were sorely disappointed. At first I wasn't even sure that the trail WAS the trail. There was a sign clearly pointing it out, but the beginning was rocky, severely uneven, and overgrown. Okay! No problem. Maybe it was just a rough start? So we pushed on. But it got worse. You can tell that the land is often swampy, because they had a makeshift "boardwalk" laid out near the water. So mushy ground wasn't a problem. But the overgrowth got so bad that we opted to turn back after only about 10 minutes of walking. (See photos!) Based on our experience I would NOT recommend the trail, because it is not well maintained. But I did snap a picture of the lodge and the pavilion on the way out, and those seemed nice. So I gave it 2 stars for that!

It was about 5 miles long and had wonderful views. It has beautiful bridges and walking paths so you weren't walking in mud. Lots of nature views! Some of the trail goes behind some houses but it isn't terrible and is for a short stretch of the hike. The dogs absolutely love it. There are even sections were you can go up to the canal and the dogs can go swimming. Definitely coming back here sometime soon.

The…read morefirst thing we noticed is that parking was obscure - we had to stop to ask a nice couple for directions! (Turns out guest parking spots are across the street from the park entrance on Lakeshore Dr, if anyone else is wondering!) Lagoon Park has a really simple and easy to walk trail - it was all flat and mostly graveled. It only took us about 20-25 minutes to circle around (with a 6 year old to boot), so we ended up circling it twice to get a longer walk in! Along the way we stopped to check out two bridges, investigated a couple of smaller dirt trails, admired the MASS amount of lily pads, waved hello to a few of the nice people in the small section of neighborhood we passed by, and the trail leads you right past Wegmans, so we took a break for some sugar cookies, too! I also noticed there were quite a few great fishing spots, if you're looking for those. And a few maps of the trail, which was a nice addition, even though I can't imagine it's easy to get lost here. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice easy trail walk, or some hidden fishing nooks!

I can't believe I'm the first to review this place!…read more We have been excited to check out the new Motion Junction playground since before it was finished and open to the public. We heard that it was supposed to be fully inclusive, the first of its kind. So when we saw the sign for the grand opening ceremony, we knew we were going! The ceremony was really beautiful, and a lot more people attended than I expected. They told us the story of how the idea of this playground came to be, recognized everybody that helped and donated, and informed us that it would be finished in "phases". So it is not yet complete, even though the playground is ready be loved and enjoyed by all! I honestly can not tell you how much I love this playground. The ground is padded with soft, squishy material. (It won't hurt if you fall!) There are sidewalks and ramps everywhere. For kids there are monkey bars, balance platforms, bridges, slides, musical instruments, fully accessible swings, zip lines, and more! There is a giant smiley face "meet up" spot. There are buddy benches for kids that want to find a friend. There is a communication station for the nonverbal. Umbrellas and benches are strewn throughout, and heartwarming inclusive signs made by kids, for kids are hung around the outer fence. In the future they plan to put a building down with a proper entrance that has bathrooms and a concession stand. A friend of mine that uses a wheelchair was excited that she could finally swing with her daughter. This place is magic, guys. And it's not even finished. Super highly recommend a visit!

The loops are not wide streets and it was a little tight to get out of our spot with a 28' and extended cab truck. If there were another camper parked across from us we wouldn't have been able to get out. Laundry on site and the store had tons of snacks. Past the old basketball court (across from section D) is a wandering nature trail/Maze. Staff that we interacted with were friendly and quick. Really quiet and peaceful place to stay for 2 weeks. Walmart is within 20 minutes if you need anything. Check out the Circle R farm store right down the street, too!

Staff sprays off everyone's feet so they don't bring in beach debris. The swimming beach is so shallow. My boys walked for the longest time and even when they started to swim, they could still stand if they wanted. Warm, too. Not the softest sand, but the way out into the lake isn't too bad. The way back, it feels a little more prickly. Guess the rocks face away from the beach. Plenty of parking, seating and shade.

Beautiful new park on the Webster side of the sandbar that runs between Lake Ontario and…read moreIrondequoit Bay, where cottages line both sides of the road, and ends at a marina when the bridge is closed (Spring, Summer, and Autumn). Castaways is visible from the park. There is ample parking, with a lot on each side of the street, as well as a lane designated for it in the street. Nice, new landscaping featuring mostly flowering varieties of shrubs (hydrangea, Spirea, Viburnums, etc.) There are benches galore for folks to look out at the lake and contemplate. The bay side features a boardwalk that can accommodate the docking of several boats. The lake side features a playground for the kiddos, a shaded area, as well as some Adirondack chairs. Some folks bring their own chaise loungers or folding chairs to enjoy the weather and sights. Lots of folks are reading under trees (mostly large cottonwoods), there are a few bikes going by, but there are mostly pedestrians. There are a couple of unisex bathrooms featuring Dyson hand dryers. Today is a Saturday in July 2024, the temp is 80°F, with 50% humidity and clear skies, and I'm surprised that there aren't way more folks here. They might be watching the Olympics, as they just started today. Their loss...
