Teenagers would love how free and creative it feels because they can practice tricks and express themselves. The service was simple and smooth with clean areas and clear signs. The value was great because the park was open and accessible. The quality of the skate areas was impressive and everything felt sturdy and well designed. The selection of ramps, bowls, and jumps gave teenagers many ways to challenge themselves. I have only been there once before writing this review but it was one of the most thrilling places I have visited. I highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a chance to be bold, expressive, and proud of their skills.

Wells park has a large parking lot It has a large lawn with several picnic areas. From what I see they try to keep restrooms clean and free from graffitti. An endless battle. My suggestion would be to place whiteboards and dry erase markers in the restrooms. I've seen this done on Resturants in Houston. On several occasions I'd be relaxing on the lawn and have been approached by well meaning street evangelists. Some wanting to introduce me to Jesus and some offering food and water. Also been approached by the homeless asking for a light, cigatetts money or wanting to sell me drugs. Within the park is Dog Park. A fenced in area where folks can unleash thier dogs. There's a play structure for kids but I never see it in use.

Also, the park has a mature eucalyptus grove, a trail that finds its way around the perimeter of the park, and wild grassy open areas. It's not a maintained open area. You can bring your dogs for a walk. The trail is not very long and it's pretty easy, accept when you have to cross near the creek. It's nice to see these open spaces between communities.

I was pleasantly surprised to see such a welcome update to the south-facing green area of the park. The city of course had to uproot about a dozen big trees for this project but better that, than remain a homeless haven. Next to the courts, the city also built a pro-shop where paid members can hangout, buy refreshments and use the clean restrooms. Members also have the benefit of reserving a court. The wall separating the courts from the apartment complex is made with sound-absorbing material, the benches are shaded and there are properly designated paddle racks for each of the five courts. I was the second pickleball player to arrive for the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the newly built pickleball courts. It was cool to see the usual suspects - friends I play with at Bostonia Rec Center and Lakeside courts, as well as new faces. This being the second El Cajon public pickleball court, me and my friends already started planning the days we will play here. This will most likely become another popular venue and one that will be maintained since local city leaders and council members are avid pickleball players themselves.
