We rented pavilion #3 for my daughter's birthday. The price was reasonable, the location was right next to the playground and there was plenty of nice grass to play on. I love that the park was clean and a park employee came by to refill toilet paper in the bathroom mid day. Located among a quiet residential area with gorgeous mountain view, a clean and walkable for all ages (pavement path). 3 large party roofed area plus a small one. The park size is mainly made up by a nice turfed field (so probably half and half of the field and the actual park area). For summer days, kids are in for treat for they have a really nice water splash zone along side the full size playground (for all ages). Only cons here are there are not enough shaded area with benches. Plenty of benches but they all sit under bare sun. Water fountains available but some dysfunction(not working) so male sure to bring your H2O. Starting to get busier towards the noon though. read more

Beautiful park, plenty of parking and handicap parking is right in the front. The bathroom is close to the parking lot and there's a real nice playground for the kids along with a mini water area. There's also different types of workout stations to help with exercising. I really like this park! I enjoy walking around and taking breaks and sitting on the benches that are around throughout the park and walk path. This park is well maintained, grass is always green here and the flowers are bright and radiant; people are friendly, and it's one of the cleanest parks that I go to. read more

This is a very nice well maintained family oriented park located in Rancho San Diego. It has a large grassy area with concrete picnic tables spread around. There are two playgrounds with equipment, a splash park for those hot summer days, and barbecues for those who like them grilled meats and vegetables. I would say that the park does need more seating area and tables for picnics. There is a large multipurpose field which I learned that there are some improvement on the way from the county. There are a couple of basketball courts and fitness area that I noticed runners use for stretching. It has one single restroom which is not enough for this 10 acre park. I was glad to see the county planting more trees when I visited the park because it certainly needs more shaded areas. I do like the park however. read more

Lovely, green family oriented park. They offer a small water area for an additional fee, you can purchase the passes in the vending machine. They also offer gazebo rentals. Extremely big park with basketball courts, incredibly larger play area for children of all ages and a miniature water park. Limited limited bathrooms!! This park is very clean and well kept. Little to no trash. Parking lot is small however street parking is available. Nice for parties, basketball games, Girl Scout meetings and soccer games. read more

This park was the closest location from where we were. Parking was full when we arrived but managed to find a spot that wasn't too tight. This park had a playground and swings. There were several parties going on at this park. My daughter loves to play but she only sat on the swings and moved back and forth. After awhile my daughter wanted to leave. She said it was too noisy. There was a party playing loud music and you can hear it throughout the park. There were plenty of benches to sit. It was kind of windy and cold today. Strange weather but luckily we had on our sweater. I like being at the park when it's quiet and I only hear the kids playing. No annoying music in the back drop. Place is in hood so be careful of all the strange characters here. read more

This park, like pretty much any other park, is byoc (bring your own chairs) with tents, since it's hot in summer or a regular day and hard to survive without shade. The purpose behind my few visits here were always birthday parties. It's a huge park with a water area for kids. And the charge is five bucks to play there. Limited parking is available on first-come-never-find-one basis. So the street parking always help, which runs along the park. The tyranny is the little number of trees in such parks, where they should be in abundance. read more

This park opened in 2009 (I think), and is a total gem! It's worth it to head out here, even though hot doesn't begin to describe East County. The kids are ecstatic in the water, getting completely soaked - I can't believe it's free! Seriously, I have that thought every single time I go. Mostly this happens when my kids run up to me after just having sprinted through a spigot, their arms wildly flapping, an ear-to-ear grin and screaming for utter joy. "This is free?" Yea, it is! There's a pirate ship climbing structure next to the water features, and next to that is a 3-story structure with a number of twisty slides. Some swings & a tire swing round out this park. The team that dreamed up this park were real children at heart! There's a bathroom and one of those blue-roofed shade structures with a ring of tables underneath it. It's first come/first serve and I can see it becoming pretty tough to find a spot here as time goes on and the word spreads about this park. Here's a list of what I think are required items when visiting this park: - sunscreen (that you apply before you get to the park, because there's NO time for it to soak into the skin before the kids are dripping!) - Umbrella or some sort of shade structure - hats - blanket for sitting on - towels, bring extra towels! - swimsuits - snacks for everyone - a book for you to read (or something for you to do while your kids are occupied) - water shoes, if you can. The ground can be a bit slippery, and the funky recycled tennis shoe ground cover that the pirate ship is in can get pretty toasty on hotter days. It's important to note that the water is on 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. daily during the warm months. It is off all-together from November - April. read more

Sunday Fun-day was Family Reunion/BBQ ! It was super duper cold, but the sun was out so why not grill up the Asada's and Ribs.. We had the main Gazebo, thanks to cousin Seabass hanging out from 7am to 2pm, Was to start at 1pm, but All of us we're on Mexican time! The park itself is huge, and pretty awesome for the kiddos! Its a nautical themed playground area, thought that was cute! They also have a basket ball court for the kids, too! The layout is well designed and its a pretty huge park. Sprawled out land , and its kept up well, Very clean! Parking does kinda suck! But its a nice place to have a party or mini family reunion, as we did! This park is beautiful and well maintained. It is almost always packed with people. The park is dog friendly and supplies free dog bags for waste pick-up, so please do not leave your dogs poop on the ground, it's just gross. There is a baseball field with a big field behind it just in case you can actually hit the ball, it also has a fence behind the batters plate so ball wont get hit into the street. This park also has a basketball court, which is two half courts back to back. There is a nice kids play ground with a big jungle gym on it. It also has a little water park so your kids will be wore out before you go home so they will sleep all day. As far as the grown ups go, it has a beautiful scenery and a great walking path going around and threw the park. I believe it is about .75 miles all the way around according to the Iphone app. nike plus. The park opens at 7am and closes at sunset which is nice if you want to watch the sunset fall behind the mountains in the background. I have my daily walks here and I really enjoy this park. There are quite a few benches and tables as well as open space to relax. There is a big turf baseball/ soccer field and two basketball courts. There isn't so much shade here but if you're on the grass you can have a canopy or umbrella. I do my walks at night and I've never felt unsafe. Awesome, beautiful park. Two playgrounds, tons of open grass area, basketball courts, a baseball field, water spouts, and picnic tables. It has a pretty good-sized parking lot, too. It's open from 7:30 A.M. to sunset, and there is no alcohol allowed. I went for a 6 year old's birthday party and it was a perfect place to have the event. It seems like a really safe neighborhood, too. The one drawback: the bathrooms are disgusting. Trust me, you want to GO before you go. read more

The water park is perfect for young children! The playgrounds are nice, however I wish the sand was clean without the chunks of tires. There is a huge grassy field and picnic areas which are nice. There's not much natural or even mam made shade so come prepared with an umbrella or at least plenty of sunscreen. read more

We went here this past weekend for a birthday party and wow, to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. The park itself is nice, the grass is dead obviously from the drought in California and the water area is fine. The bathrooms really need to be fixed and added too. The issue I have with this park is the kids and people who go their. I seen kids throwing sand at the little kids going down the slide. Little kids hitting and punching each other and big boys chasing little kids. ( like the 9 year old who was purposely scaring my 5 year old) the parents don't pay attention and when they do they don't even say anything to their children, just let it continue. The park itself is nice but the experience of the people that day made it so I won't ever go back. I've been told by many different moms that they won't go there on the weekends because of what I experience and now I understand why read more

Love this park!! I live in la Mesa and it's worth the 15 minute drive and the search for parking. My son is one so he like the little water spouts.. Can keep him entertained fir hours. The city has added new features- a basic water "park" and a vending/soda machine. The park has almost no shade, and being that the grass is all dead it's too hot to even enjoy yourself. Furthermore there is always a ton of poop all over the park, so I don't really feel that I cant take my kids here. read more

Terrible splash pad. Most of the water features weren't working {we went 6/26/2014} and the few that were working were hardly spraying. I wish they would have had a notice saying it was out of order or something before i paid the $3. Also, putting a splash pad right next to a sand box is a recipe for a MESS. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. COmpared to the amazing splash pads in utah, which we're used to, this was a sorry excuse for a water park. read more
