When I moved into my apartment there was a hole in the floor of my bathroom, no smoke detector, and the apartment wasn't cleaned when I moved in, yet I still had to pay for a cleaning deposit. The other tenants of this apartment building are also crooks and thieves. I have had my GPS stolen from my car, and most recently packages stolen from my door step. These acts of theft are not uncommon here either, and are almost common place. If you have any interest in renting in Montpelier, stay away from this place completely. I would recommend looking at craigslist or trying to find a private owner that you may rent from.

Longer version: a couple of months ago, I wanted to buy a painting that a local Montpelier business had on their wall; they weren't sure how to handle the payment at the time, but after I got home (to Boston) they told me by email that I could send them a check and they'd hold the painting until I was next in Montpelier. I sent them the check, they cashed it - and then about a week later they went out of business! I only learned about this when I tried to call them about picking up the painting. I figured the painting was probably lost, but I managed to get the name of the business' property management company (i.e. Stone & Browning) from the Internet, and called them, in the hope that perhaps they could figure out where the painting had gone. The person who picked up was very sympathetic and put me through to Nick. On a Friday afternoon, Nick took time out of his day to track down the painting, and then he came in on a Saturday morning (outside his usual working hours) to hand it over to me, because I was heading back to Boston on the Sunday afternoon. So I can't speak to their property management skills from the perspective of a landlord or renter, but my experience in summer 2024 was that it was really easy to get in touch with them (even with a situation that was definitely non-standard), and they were extremely responsive and helpful, especially Nick.

I went to the facility to explain the damage in my apartment to only be back out into the hallway and screamed at infront of other tenants and threatened a trespass. Zach Napolitano had also told me that "I was a lying coward and absolutely full of it" he told me he would stop any maintenance request that I would try to make in the future. He also went as far as calling my mother-in-law a bottom feeder that I can't make her rent on time and to "stop fucking calling us scum lords". My mother has only been behind on rent once with stoning browning but that vocabulary is absolutely earring and eye opening!! There is no need to throw your own tenants into the gutter over them trying to confront maintenance issues.
