About a year ago I moved into a new home that had a screened porch with a beautiful view. I had left behind a traditional constructed porch that was enclosed and had casement windows. My white wicker furniture was waiting for a home, but wasn't constructed to deal with rain and snow. I proceeded to get four estimates - two for a traditional porch structure and two for a sunroom structure. All came in amazing close in price. I decided on the Garrety Glass Betterliving sunroom option due to the openness of the view, the professionalism of their staff, the quality of their materials, and recommendations by former customers. I was extremely pleased with the entire process. The first thing I noticed was their concern for the stability and safety of the porch, which was on wood pillars, to be able to sustain the additional weight of their high quality and heavy glass. They were the only group to carefully assess the current posts and point out some major splits. They also were concerned that two posts may not meet building codes due to the distance between them. I was glad that remediation was addressed at the onset and included in their estimate, and that I could be comfortable with guests and grandkids being safe on the second story structure. The quality of the total structure, I felt, definitely exceeded that of their sunroom competition. The salesman worked with me on the details I wanted including the white framing to go with my wicker, the ceiling beadboard, reusing the current ceiling material to enclose the insulation under the porch, and putting damp resistant drywall as well as window/door casing to have the porch match the interior rooms in the house. Also included was a mini split HVAC system to make the room usable year round. Not only was I impressed with the company's materials, the two young men who did the construction were wonderfully collegial, organized (they gave me a daily list of what they would be doing for the two weeks of construction), flexible, attentive to detail, and excellent craftsmen. I would highly recommend them to anyone building a porch; the project was completed when scheduled and the cost was as agreed upon. I now have a beautiful room with an overall unobstructed view of the area along with breathtaking sunsets. Totally impressed with every staff person from Garrety and the product. I was impressed that only two guys, Kevin and Dalton, did the actual construction. They arrived each day at or before the time that they said that they would. This was after they had to drive more than an hour to get to my home. The two of themdelivered and unloaded all of the heavy lumber, cement, hardware, and tools for the platform construction. Six days later they delivered and unloaded the wall and roof framing, windows, and roof. Every day they cleaned debris from the work and sunroom areas and put tools and supplies away. They were very knowledgeable and clearly explained what the work plans were. They patiently and clearly provided answers to all questions that I had. On the first day, I was impressed that the two of them alone, each with digging bars and post-hole diggers, no machine tools, manually dug the six 30" deep x 18" diameter post holes in my clay and rock soil. The second day was equally impressive as they came early again with a jack hammer power tool to remove the existing cement stoop porch. Each day the two of them alone progressed quickly on construction. Framing the 300 square-foot platform base (perfectly level), placing, securing, and blocking each 2x10 joist, cutting, laying, and caulking the foam board, and laying in the R-30 insulation, cutting, and securing the Advantech flooring. Their progress and efficiency continued as they cut out the 16"-centers roof trusses, attached the ledger board with two lag bolts into each truss as required by code, cut back the house shingles and attached the sunroom roofing and wall framing. The flashing, caulking, window installation, wrapping, fascia and gutter installation, and other details completed their perfect construction. Their precision and attention to detail shows completely in the final result. The sunroom is better than I expected. I love it. Everyone that sees it is impressed. read more

I am beyond pleased with my new 4 season room by Garrety Glass Better Living Sunrooms. The quality is very visible. The construction teams (especially my project manager, Josh and his sidekick Nick) were very professional and paid attention to the little details. Nick was very particular about cleaning up at the end of each day and Josh was a stickler with details. The communication and updates were spot-on! I'm very glad I picked the 4 season room with the heating/air-conditioning unit. I loved being able to pick out my own fan and light fixtures. They even put up flood lights and outside receptacles for me! I've moved my living room into the 4 season room and it does the job of keeping us comfortable. I'm also glad I up'd the size to 14' x 18' with an additional 6'x14' side deck for our grill. We essentially added 250 sq ft of living space to our home for the half the price of a block or stick built addition. I love all the glass which is so far (temp has been in the teens) not been too hard or too expensive to heat. My dogs love the view (opted for glass all around the bottom). They can stay in the temp controlled environment and still keep an eye on the backyard. Hoping to participate in the Parade of Homes next year and show off our new 4 season room! My experience with Garrety Glass was exceptional. I was replacing several windows. One was a flat picture window that I wanted to put a bay in. There were several issues with this and it was looking like I couldn't have the bay I so wanted. But they worked very hard to make this happen and it did. I am pretty picky and don't like replacement windows period. So I was not expecting much. However, these windows are stunning. The quality is excellent. And the people we dealt with were fabulous. From Jordan who patiently educated us on replacement windows as we knew nothing and repeatedly promised me that they would not leave the job until I was totally happy to the great installers. James, Colin, and Kyle were perfectionists. These windows could not look any better. And, hey, even better they bonded with my dog. I must say they were a pleasure to have in my home for 2 days. Garrety glass installed a three season room and a new deck for us this summer. The work they performed was exceptional. Alika, the crew chief did a fantastic job in keeping us informed and ensuring that the product and installation met our satisfaction. We had an outside door that was on back order, and when it arrived, Mark and Josiah removed two kitchen windows, cut the brick siding, and installed the door. Their work was exceptional as well. I spent many hours researching the product and different companies before selecting Garrety glass. Their showroom in Cockeysville was very instrumental in being able to see the product and in the selection process. We plan to have many enjoyable days and evenings in our new addition. Our entire experience with Garrety was wonderful from start to finish. They were available to meet with us in an evening when we were available. They provided a quote quickly and answered all of our questions promptly. Changes were made quickly and accurately. Our order was placed and when we were ready (about 5 months later), Mike F came out to measure for the shower door and panel. Three weeks later, Mike F and Patrick came out to install the shower door. They were extremely professional, kept everything clean and moving along. I am very pleased with my new shower door. We had a small issue and Mike F and Patrick came back right away to fix it. Just a little tweak (in and out in 10 minutes).
