She called back and informed me that Mr. Jenkins would accept our case, then asked my domestic partner and myself to come in that following Monday to sign our contract. (2) I informed them the need of a sign language interpreter, Ms. Jones contacted Sign Language Network of Kentucky and learned that there would be a cost. (3) Ms. Jones contacted us back and asked me if I would bring in my domestic partner with me to interpret. I said no since it was a legal matter and Kentucky has a licensure law plus it was required under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Apparently, that hiring an interpreter was a problem. (4) A few days later, we received a letter from Jenkins Law Firm that he was dropping us as a client and encouraged us to seek another attorney. Mr. Jenkins VIOLATED the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by wielding his legal powers to avoid to hire a sign language interpreter. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT CATER TO BUSINESSES THAT DISCRIMINATE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES. I used Spencer Law office and was represented by Lyman Darby. My case was a disability case that…read morestarted 3 yrs ago with promises that were never met. My first problem was that they lost 20 yrs worth of my med/comp records and they did not seem at all worried that they lost these. That was my first sign that had me nervous. Many times I would call and ask to speak with Mr. Spencer or Lyman and the receptionist hung up on me, not once but many times! So I lost my case and when I went to Spencer Law to talk about my lost case I complained to them on how I felt they did not act like they were on my side at all Mr.Spencer and Mr.Darby both sat across from me at there big fancy table and smiled and snikered at me while I voiced my opinion on how they treated me. Anyway I lost my appeal and fired them and hired a new Attorney and two days later all my med/comp records showed up in my mailbox....Remember these have been lost for 3 years. So very strange and impossible to know why these were missing and now after I lose my case they remarkably show back up. I do not recommend this office for disability needs.
