I took it back to have someone explain away how they were sure it worked before they sold it to me and made me have to pull teeth just to get my money back! Fast forward about 7 months to a year) So my wife's father dies and she ended up with a few of his items that was hard for her to look at for obvious reasons! So she decides to pawn and not sale the items as she hoped to maybe bare them again! I remember the bad experience here but paid it no mind and decided she would pawn it at this establishment! So she goes in with her current id and pawns her item with no problem! So today we go in to retrieve her item(this is also after making hundreds of dollars of payments to hold it for us) (plus late fees) They tell us we can't buy our items back because the address on her id (THE SAME ID THEY EXCEPTED WITH NO ISSUES WHEN THEY TOOK IN THE ITEM) does not match!!! They never explained this to us of course if they had we would not have left the item there!! THEY STOLE FROM US!!! After I cuss everybody out lol the old guy said I'm tough and asked me to come behind the counter to fight knowing damn well police and or a shot to my face is inevitable lol So I asked him to come outside to have a real man respectable fight and of course his scary ass declined!! Plenty of collectibles, furniture, books, toys and art to be found but also lots of the things I like to look at like vintage cast iron, Pyrex and Ball jars. In fact I took home three very old aqua Ball jars with their original nickel lids for under $20 total. These were larger and cheaper than the similar jars I saw at the other antique store in this area. Side note: cash or check works best here. I only had a credit card, which they accepted, but they changed the discount on my items to 20% off to reflect the fee they had to pay for my charge.

The store is rather large and has several artists Whose woodwork and other crafts is featured in the store and sold for them. They have all kinds of cool and unique items in this store that vary in price depending on the artist. Some are rather high and others are fair priced. I personally walked away with two items form two different artists on my trip here. I purchased a university of louisville license plate decoration for my self and Burbon Barrel university of Kentucky coat rack for my brothers Christmas present. Overall I really enjoyed This shop. Artists Barrel is easily located on North 3rd Street, just a couple of storefronts north of East Flaget Sreet. With parking plentiful and short walking distance from all points downtown -- bars, restaurants, and all, you can come to Artists Barrel for various odds and ends-type of purchases. In my visit to the Artists Barrel, I bought Kentucky hats for my Dad and Stepmother, a Kentucky hanging ornament and a bourbon scented candle for my Mom, and a pair of bourbon boxers for my Aunt. It was quite a joyous morning considering I was hoping to do all of my souvenir shopping at one spot and did so at Artists Barrel successfully.
