Great farmer butcher shop. Country hams, sausages etc. Located on the farm. Real Pa farmers, although located in Carrol County Md.

We came here in the fall for a fall festival that was totally free and dog friendly and made a note…read moreto came back for the market. Being here on a warm day is fun. They have multiple playgrounds and animal coops/cages to visit. On cooler days, their small market is the way to go. Today on Facebook I saw they had a $25 CSA box that came with huge carrots, oranges, butter lettuce, mushroom carton, apples and a chicken pot pie! I thought it was a great deal. The CSA is available from Friday-Sunday and you pay first and then collect the produce outside in your own bag/box. The market also had some baked items, frozen meats and jarred goods available. I highly recommend the farm animal cupcakes with the cutest faces and the creamiest frosting!

My family and I purchased our tickets in advance and we saved $3 vs. purchasing at the door. Check-in was a long line but it was moving rather well. Once in, you are given instructions on how to pick the tulips. Your ticket includes 6 tulips and then each additional stem $1 and each additional bulb is $1. The weather was AMAZING and there were so many cute photo ops in the field. This is a very family friendly place, including infants and babies! After we picked our tulips, we sat around to take in the view. When we were ready to check out, there were stations to trim the ends and take the tulips in a water cup. The property this weekend had music, cidery, farm animals, and other cute fun barn games for kids. I highly recommend you to check out the farm!

As we were being led to our table I noticed many empty tables and 4 empty booths. I asked if we could get a booth rather than the table but she said no as they were reserved..okay. We had MD crab, cream of crab, and scallops wrapped in bacon for appetizer. All excellent! My soft crab sandwich and side of onion rings all cooked to perfection. My friends had shrimp and grits and stuffed rockfish, both meals exquisite. For dessert lemon tart and the chocolate peanut butter cake. Yum, the only thing that could have made that better was a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. Kudos for using a local company for their desserts, Bertuccos Bakery and giving them credit on the menu. Love it, supporting other Carroll County businesses. To top of the entire evening we had Blake as our server, the absolute % best. From the introduction, use of beverage napkins under our drinks, clearing of dirty dishes, and to the dry humor he engaged us with us throughout the evening. Thank you! In today's society many servers are handing me my bill before I even finish my meal and dont bother to clear away dirty dishes. What a pleasant evening out with friends with great food and quality service. We left by 530pm and the entire time we were there, at least 3 booths and a couple of tables were consistently vacant. Your hostesses need to work a little better at seating people without long wait times. The couple behind us were told a 45 minute wait. This is not our first time at Maryland Mallet and have been turned away at 4pm on a Saturday before due to no seating available because of reservations. Growing up in the hospitality industry, I would say that you may be losing some potential revenue. Just a thought! Kudos to Blake and your kitchen staff!
