I had been following for YEARS on Facebook (can't even remember how I found them!), and have since moved out of town, but I wanted to give my dad a surprise gift for Valentine's Day. I messaged the business on Facebook, and within minutes, Stacy responded to my inquiry. She made it so easy to order a gift basket and even offered to have it delivered to his home. I was blown away and incredibly appreciative of such great service. For a gift basket of 3 cheeses, sausage, beef sticks, crackers, jelly, and a cutting board and knife, it was only $65! They also threw in a couple of chocolates and a handwritten card to make it special :) Everything (I'm told) was super tasty, with the Habanero Ghost Pepper cheese being a favorite. I'm excited to continue gifting Stumpy's to friends and family in the Topeka area and beyond.

The cupcakes are individually wrapped, which seems a bit silly, but it's nice at the market if you aren't going to eat right away, and certainly is nice if you want to pick up a little treat for someone. I was a bit disappointed in the size of cupcake; the cake itself was fairly small, and overall was almost half-icing. I had a Maple Black Walnut cupcake. The black walnut stood out more flavor-wise, and was good. The cream cheese frosting was unexpected, but went decently well with the cake (I admit I'm not a huge fan of cream cheese frosting), though there was definitely too much for me. The ingredients are conveniently listed on the back of each wrapper, and it is nice to note that most are organic. This jives well being at the Farmers' Market.

Engroff's was able to seamlessly and extremely professionally cater my event at the very last minute. Their event coordinator was able to meet with me Monday (after I contacted them Friday afternoon) at the venue, offer multiple suggestions about the menu, we set a menu...and when I mentioned I was hosting ANOTHER event the following day (May 1st), informed me they would also be able to cater that event was well, if I was interested. Both events went off without a hitch and after receiving multiple compliments about the food (and Engroff's being extremely professional and understanding about how stressed I was due to the first caterer falling thru), are now my caterer of choice, bar none. Probably also was Kansas-style "fresh," which means frozen that is defrosted and then sold at the higher fresh prices. Then one day, in a hurry, bought a ready-made sandwich to take out. Should have stopped long enough to read the fine print on the wrapper: It said the sandwich was four days old. I wouldn't serve a four-day-old ham and cheese to my worst enemy ... not even if it was free, unlike mine, which was extravagantly priced. Too bad Lawrence can't have a nice co-op.
