I went to Stumpy's to look for Christmas gifts-meat and cheese, they were low on products and prices in store differed than online gift boxes which was a disappointment. I ended up only buying one gift basket and picking up a few little jams and a smoked bacon Gouda along with half a summer sausage to gift to a friend. They were pretty busy when I went in but the ladies working were friendly and helpful. They have Cheese, smoked sausages, jellies, bbq sauce, Cashmere Popcorn and other jarred condiments available. This shop is a must-visit when buying holiday gifts or souvenirs. It's truly a one-of-a-kind place in Topeka, locally-owned, operated, and sourced. I had been following for YEARS on Facebook (can't even remember how I found them!), and have since moved out of town, but I wanted to give my dad a surprise gift for Valentine's Day. I messaged the business on Facebook, and within minutes, Stacy responded to my inquiry. She made it so easy to order a gift basket and even offered to have it delivered to his home. I was blown away and incredibly appreciative of such great service. For a gift basket of 3 cheeses, sausage, beef sticks, crackers, jelly, and a cutting board and knife, it was only $65! They also threw in a couple of chocolates and a handwritten card to make it special :) Everything (I'm told) was super tasty, with the Habanero Ghost Pepper cheese being a favorite. I'm excited to continue gifting Stumpy's to friends and family in the Topeka area and beyond. read more

This is in regards to their business practices not their products. I do believe they have great cheeses but I have had nothing but awful experiences with the owner every time I have tried to support their business. The first example happened at their food truck. I bought $70.00 worth of cheese and the owner Stacey (who was ringing me up) charged me $700.00. A very easy mistake to make adding an extra zero, it happens. But that wasn't the problem, it was how the rest of the transaction was handled. Instead of explaining the situation she handed off the ipad to her husband and told him to "deal with this" and walked away. The only reason I knew how much she charged me was because of the bank notification I got alerting me to the amount processed. I thought it was very alarming how dismissive and unapologetic she was. The second instance involved me ordering a charcuterie box. I used their website which instructs to send an email and they will get back to you with product details. Two weeks went by and I never had a response. I called the store the third week on a Thursday and a nice lady took my order and confirmed Stacey would give me a call back later that afternoon with the rest of the details. Needless to say I didn't hear back Thursday or Friday. Given that this week was right before the superbowl I was trying to be understanding and give them some leeway assuming they were very busy. But on the fourth week after the initial email, I still waited on Monday for a call back and you guessed it, it never came. Miraculously, Stacey finally called me on Tuesday, four days before my event. She confirmed my order and that it would be ready at the store at noon on Saturday. Saturday rolls around and I arrive at their store at the designated pick up time. The lovely store worker asked for my name and order details. She went to the back to grab my charcuterie box but comes back empty handed. There was no order for me. She asked again how I ordered the item and who I spoke with. I confirmed Stacey took my order over the phone since I never heard anything back on my email. She ended up calling Stacey and all Stacey could say was "she forgot" about my order. Once again no apology, no trying to make it right, just "I forgot". Thank goodness for the sore employee who was very helpful and did everything in her power to give me some quick made cheese plates. I was throwing a party that night and wanted a charcuterie box that was a little more elevated and came with more items but given the current situation I was thankful to get some kind of basic cheese platter. After these two experiences I don't understand how Stacey maintains a business and is in customer service. She seems to have no regards for getting customers and keeping them. Again this review is not against their products, they have amazing cheeses but I will no longer support their business. read more
