Our 74 year old home had some plumbing issues to address. I contacted Gary with a moderate list of items to repair or replace. He asked for photos to be texted and he provided an equitable proposal. Jobs: Replaced the dripping outdoor spigot with a new frost-free one Replaced the tub spout and replaced the worn washers to stop the dripping Replaced the parts in the toilet so it flushes properly Replaced a section of copper pipe that had a pin hole leak Replaced the old wall mount kitchen faucet Gary provided me 15 minute window when he would arrive. He was spot on and arrived within that time. That is some great time management skills! Son, Matthew, and Gary arrived, removed their shoes at the door (nice touch) and began working. Within a short period of time the only job that remained was the old wall mount faucet. As expected, it was not going to go without issue. Gary told me that he needed a part to complete the job (some part behind the wall) and he would go to Canton to pick up the part and would return later that evening. He soldered caps on the exposed pipes, allowing us to have water in his absence. True to his word, he returned later and completed the job. I highly recommend Gary's Plumbing. Called more than once only to repeat the same information to different individuals, tried to send photo of requested work and got the run around with that as well. I am very pleased with the work done by Gary and his crew. I had all the faucets replaced due to mineral buildup slowing down the water flow. (Note: Ann Arbor water is just horrible for mineral deposits.) In addition to the faucets, he cleaned / replaced the lines underneath the sinks because they were almost blocked. The day after he left, I had no hot water. Neither of us understood why. As it turns out, my water heater had "blown up" and was spewing water all over the basement. When he got here, he turned off the water to the heater and had a new heater installed within 2 days. Work was excellent and I have no complaints. He went out of his way to get the exact faucets I wanted. He is very personable, efficient, and I would recommend him to anyone. Cost was more than I expected, but since I don't have a lot of experience in paying for plumbing work (thankfully), it was reasonable and his service and promptness was appreciated. read more

I recently installed a new toilet on my own and found it was leaking (sporadically) at the base. Called Gary and loved that I got through to a human answering service (not a VM). I was able to set up time, one week out, for him to check it out. He arrived when stated and understood the problem immediately. He shared the price quote to fix it (VERY reasonable) and within 30 minutes he remove the toilet, fixed the issue, and replaced the toilet. I've worked with Gary now twice in the last few months, first to have 2 toilets changed and then to replace my water heater. On both occasions he was incredibly responsive and lightning quick with his work. He and his sons swapped the two toilets in an hour, and the same with the water heater. In and out, no mess. I'm very pleased with the service i received today - my outside faucet has leaking for months. I've tried calling a "bigger" business and basically blow me off; so of course i gotten discourage to get it fixed. Hey at least my dogs had fresh water outside during the hot months but now as it's getting colder - then this could cause a serious problem if i don't get it fixed before it freezez during the weather. I had a mystery leak resulting in water on my kitchen floor and Gary offered to come and check it out for free in order to determine a quote to fix it. Prior to his arrival I checked everything and couldn't find what was leaking. Gary arrived right on time and was able to solve the mystery after about 15 minutes of investigation. The result was that he said I could fix it myself because it was a very simple job. Didn't cost me a penny! I ended up hiring him to come back to replace a shut off valve that I found was faulty. Based on our excellent experience last time I called Gary again, and I was not disappointed. Note: my last review of Gary's Plumbing was more than a year ago. When attempting to write this one, Yelp somehow reposted my old one. Oh well. Gary and his son are professionals, but not only that, they leave the work site as if no work was ever performed. Spotless. Price is more than reasonable. I will definitely call Gary again if another plumbing job is needed. Scheduling is easy. You call the service, the lady takes your number and Gary shortly calls you back asking if you still need a plumber. After a description of the job and a text message with pictures Gary provides a quote. On one of the three items Gary said he will not know until he sees the issue. We agreed Gary will quote on the spot. Gary has a flexible schedule, in my case it was not urgent, and we set a date and time. Shortly before the appointment I received a call telling me Gary is on his way. At the appointment time, not a minute early or a minute late, the doorbell rings. Gary and his son are at the door. I had two faucets (Moen for life) to replace and that odd third job I mentioned. Gary and his son got to the faucets right away. The job was done perfectly. One of the faucets required more work, all was done quietly and swiftly. After the faucets were replaced Gary and his son got a vacuum cleaner and some rags and left the work area at both faucets spotless. Probably cleaner then it was before. Gary looked at the third item, and said there is some risk. We both agreed it is not worth it, and I thought I would leave it as is. Later, between Gary and myself and idea popped up. Gary thought it is worth a try and went to get a replacement part. By now you know it is needless to say the third job was completed as well, again, perfectly done. I asked Gary how much would the third one cost and Gary said, just pay for the part. The whole job was reasonably priced to begin with, and complete with in 2-3 hours. I am pleased with Gary and his son's work. Upon leaving, Gary was so thorough, that he took all of the old faucets with him, and the packaging of the new ones, nothing left behind. I strongly recommend Gary and his son, and will cal them again if a plumbing job is required! read more
