One of the best solo trip I've had. I have a time share there and my first time using it. The staff was amazing and the food is out of this world. Be ready for photo and video dump on my post here but you will see why because I loved every second of it. It's ocean front property and I totally feel safe. The food was delicious and the staff are nice and attentive.

you can also walk down to the main lobby

We did the all-inclusive package for Garza Blanca at Puerto Vallarta. It IS a bit pricey but it is the all-inclusive package. For also further context, we went here for a destination wedding and the packages provided were further discounted and it was my first all-inclusive resort experience. The food: Overall, there are a few places that are great but the other places are alright. For the all-inclusive package, I'd say Blanca Blue and Bocados is worth it just to keep going back to enjoy the views and try something different. NOI Italian was okaaay but we only went once with a party of 8 and they gave us a fixed menu which contained alright food. I was really craving pasta and the amatriciana was...alright. The duck though was very delicious. The room service is where it CAN be a hit and miss. We touched base with other friends on what they ordered and the ones that were good was the tuna, burger, pizza, pancakes. For the most part, it isn't terrible. They do provide a lot of condiments, silverware, and services that make it very well done. Don't forget to tip them - I know its all-inclusive but please be mindful of being in a foreign country/place and helping support the local community. The one crappy part is that the room service only runs to 11pm. Which I understand that people need to go home and its probably a logistics/quality aspect in order to maintain everything throughout especially at an all-inclusive resort. There were just many nights that we had to prep a fridge pizza for the midnight snacks after getting sloshed at the rooftop bar. The location: This place is a HUGE property. They have a trolley system that runs every 15min. When its late at night, be sure to ask the front desk of any of the hotels to ensure that it is still running or if not they will send someone. VERY ACCOMMODATING. The Tierraluna Gardens are a very beautiful walk. The shopping area is NOT inclusive and quite expensive for my tax bracket. But if you can manage $100 swimming trunks, more power to you. Maybe that's the "god dammit I forgot" price. The pools are great - I only experienced Tower 4/5 pools and the main lobby pool. Both are great with a wonderful view, the only reason I like the main lobby pool better is because it leads to the beach. There's also showers right to wash off the sand. The beach is nice and sandy, and the water can get a bit wavy if you're a bit older. There's also folks selling jetskii-ing and what not that you can do. Service: Overall not once did I feel inconvenienced. I felt the utmost respect and welcoming hospitality. I've made a few friends along the way with Ivan, Fabian, Marco, Oscar, and Roberto. They caught our vibe and would be reciprocating and understand how much we'd be rallying. We're all adults and didn't get completely sloshed to where we are being ratchet which I think they appreciated. There were signs for no speakers at the pool in Tower4/5, but we still brought it down and were respectful and mindful of others as well as to the crew there. It was funny because the folks mentioned would walk up to say whats up and the wedding party I was with would be so confused. And I'm like what's wrong with making a human connection? Lol. Extra Tips: Be sure to have a stock of water in your room every time you go back from an outing. That way you never really run out. We got the junior panoramic suite - search out the youtube videos for an overall understanding of what you're getting. We enjoyed our suite very much. You might see some reviews of reservation mishaps and food services but I would not pay attention to that at all. Sometimes its like a wedding week, overbooked, and you need to do your part in following up or just being patient with the food when it is busy. Reserve pool chairs when you can through member services if you have a big party. Overall: We had a wonderful time with extravagant views and amazing food and service. I've spoken to other inclusive resort veterans, and they say this one is always the best. I would go again but it is quite expensive so the destination wedding was a nice excuse to utilize it as a vacation.

We spent a long weekend in October at Cara's Blanca resort in Puerto Vallarta with my husband and our 6-year-old son. As seasoned travelers who've experienced many all-inclusive resorts, we were surprised to find that several menu items and amenities weren't included in the package. Pros: * Nice facility and room with stunning views * Beautiful pools * Overall cleanliness and service were satisfactory * Food was ok , though not exceptional and many items are not part of all inclusive. Cons: * Many menu items and amenities required additional payment, despite the all-inclusive package * Small, rocky beach area (not ideal for families seeking a white sand beach) * Limited kid-friendly dining options (only two restaurants) * Kids' club was disappointing; we wouldn't feel comfortable leaving our child there * Resort primarily caters to adults; not ideal for families Overall, our experience didn't feel like a true all-inclusive getaway, especially with a child. While the resort might be suitable for couples or solo travelers, families may find better options elsewhere

This is a massive all inclusive. Multiple buildings connected by trolly cars. The rooms are amazing, great views, luxurious interiors, you feel absolutely pampered. Multiple infinity pools with pool side service. Very private beach with water break very safe for kids and you can snorkel. We saw a sea turtle. However the shallow part of beach is very rocky, it's painful to get in. I saw an old lady fell because of it. The food is not great, mostly American junk food. The main dining room feels like an average continental breakfast, and not a very good one. The paid restaurant is pretty good. And the ugly tipping culture has made it here from America. Almost perfect if they just update the food.

A five diamond resort deserves five stars and a fab review fitting to its fine stature. All inclusive with restaurants galore to pick from and an in-house concierge rounded out the experience. Stunning cute of the ocean from the lobby. Concierge service was a way to schedule dinners which could be more easily done online if offered. Massage experience was overpriced, so we took it to the streets, the hotel strip by the airport had muchos more options in Puerto Vallarta (PV) and gives you a glimpse of city life. We took a bus ride for a grittier glimpse, which took long but Uber is always available here. Restaurants at the sister hotel restaurant were a bit over hyped, the Garza Blanca's Blanca Blue was standout as was the steak house Bocados, slightly less so. Overall, a dreamy experience, and eats worthy of widening a waistline!

This was, without question, one of the best dining experiences we've had at Hilton Vallarta Riviera. We returned again tonight, and once again the service and quality were absolutely exceptional. Edgar (Captain), Abraham (our server), and Isaura at the front delivered an outstanding level of professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. Everything was handled seamlessly, and they made our evening feel very special. The food was excellent from start to finish--the shrimp tempura, satay selections, sea bass, desserts, and drinks were all consistently high quality. This team truly operates at a five-diamond standard. No confusion, no unnecessary upselling--just genuine hospitality and a focus on delivering a great guest experience. You should be very proud of this team. They represent exactly what hospitality should look like. Thank you again for everything. We truly appreciate it and look forward to returning. The hotel was mostly clean and the staff was super friendly. It helped being a diamond member with Hilton. The pool was never too busy. The ocean was a little dirty and smelly. But the all inclusive was a little disappointing. We ended up going into town to eat 90% of our meals. It all tastes pretty cruise ship like even though we were in paradise in Mexico. I would suggest just booking a cheap hotel in the romantic zone and skip this place. Especially if you have any standard with food. We found it to be pretty disappointing.

The buffet showed clear cross-contamination -- we even found fish spines in the green salsa when no fish was being served at that station. That is a serious food safety failure. When my husband and child were extremely ill, staff told us we would have to pay $1,600 pesos EACH just for the on-site doctor to see them. After a long argument they waived the fee, but still refused to take any accountability. Staff were rude, dismissive, and showed zero concern. I submitted a formal written complaint during our stay and followed up by email. To this day, I have received no response. The silence speaks volumes about their lack of accountability. An all-inclusive resort's most basic responsibility is to provide safe food and handle emergencies professionally. They failed on both. I strongly caution families from staying here.

All rooms have a deck facing the ocean, allowing for great sunset views and whale watching. The small beach has built in cabanas and staff will bring lounges or chairs to you. Immediately in front of the beach are large rocks, which break the surf but obstruct the ocean view. The resort has an open air restaurant and bar with excellent views of the ocean. However, service is inconsistent and the food is unremarkable. Similarly, the bar serves a variety of drinks but are mediocre. Restaurant and bar staff are slow and not motivated to provide good service. The resort uses an arcane and cumbersome method to have you sign receipts for your food and drink orders. Much better food, drinks, and service can be found in restaurants and bars throughout PV. Other small hotels and condominiums surround the resort but there is a pharmacy and small convenience store less than a half a mile away and can be walked to along the main road. If you rent a car, parking is minimal, maybe only 6 or so spaces. Taxi service is quick at the resort. The southern edge of PV is about a mile walk along the shoreline through a mix of beach and rocky sections, and likely not passable during high tide. Overall, our stay was pleasant. If you are looking for a quiet place and not picky about food, drinks, or service, you may like Lindo Mar. However, there are better and more modern resorts to choose from in the PV area.

I kindly asked them what other spots can we go that's nearby and not in downtown and the waitress recommended me Lindo Mar. We called to make sure they're open and they were also about to close but the guy said he can take us if we come in 5 min. We took an uber there and asked again if they can take us and it was close to closing and they kindly took us! I was so appreciative and felt bad for staying late when they were about to close the kitchen but during our time there, we didn't feel any rush, the servers were so attentive and welcoming. So thank you Lindo Mar Resort! Now about the food, I was craving a burrito so I was disappointed they don't have burritos here so I just got the chicken fajitas and my fiancé got the beef fajitas. They were both really good and cooked well done even though it was all late and we were the last ones. Unfortunately it was too dark to enjoy the views but sitting right by the ocean and hearing the waves in the quiet was still beautiful. Now I know about this spot because you wouldn't think it's a restaurant when you pass by. Would love to stop by again but during the day to enjoy the views more!

As for the negatives, although there were many dining options, the food quality was below average, which is fairly common at all-inclusive resorts. When we checked in, they claimed they didn't have my request for a king bed, and said all they had were doubles. Ok, not happy, but we took it. Then we got to our room (#318) & it was like a dungeon!! It smelled like heavy mold & mildew, and when we opened the curtains to see the patio, it was a concrete enclosure with no view of even the sky - just a couple of "windows" with white opaque plastic instead of glass, which was the only source of light for the patio! The room did not even have a refrigerator (and this all-inclusive resort advertises that refrigerators are stocked daily with beer & sodas & water)! I could not stand the mildew smell and we immediately went to the front desk and complained. They said they only had one other room available in our category (I still have no idea what category we had - it certainly wasn't the cheapest! ) The desk clerk walked us up to the room to see if we'd take it and it was a no brainer! No mildew smell, & a balcony with a view of water over roofs and surrounding properties. Still 2 beds, but we gladly took it (#619). They have an app for phones called Go Guest, but it does not work properly. Once I registered, we were supposed to be able to use it to book specialty restaurant reservations, but that never worked! The buffet restaurant does not require reservations, but the food is not great. Some of the dishes were excellent, but some were overcooked and dry and some were practically tasteless. The best food was usually the Mexican dishes, and the ceviche was great. This is our first & last time staying at this place. I will be sure to let customers know of our experience. I'm giving 2 stars because staff members were cordial, beachfront location is great, pool area is very nice, and daily activities offered were decent.

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Catfish Nightmare!…read more I am completely appalled by my experience at Krystal Hotel Puerto Vallarta - this place is a total catfish and should be ashamed to operate under the guise of a resort. I'm a timeshare member, and this was my first experience using the membership I've already invested over $15,000 in. What I got in return was a rundown, dirty, unsafe, and frankly traumatizing experience. From the moment I arrived, the property reeked of raw sewage, the "members' villas" were severely outdated, windows didn't even close, and doors barely locked. I didn't feel safe for a single second. The entire property looked abandoned, more like a set from a horror movie than a vacation destination - I even saw a noose hanging from a tree and feral cats roaming around that looked sick and possibly rabid. To make things worse, when I raised my concerns to management, I was blamed for booking there without calling ahead, as if it's my fault I trusted the misleading photos and dishonest reviews. How is it my fault that they misrepresent the resort online? And it gets worse. I paid in May for a reservation in June and was never even given an address by the timeshare contact. I had to Google the property myself, and when I arrived, the taxi driver told me there are multiple Krystal locations. I had to call around just to find where I was staying. That's unacceptable. Once I finally got there, I was in shock at how horrifying the property looked. The front desk's response? "What did you expect?" That tells you everything you need to know. On top of all this, the "all-inclusive" system is a scam. As a timeshare member, I was told I'd have to pay $100 per person per night for meals - yet a non-member off the street only pays $76 for full all-inclusive access. How does that make any sense? Bottom line: * Unsafe, unsanitary, outdated. * No accountability from staff or management. * Scam-level pricing structure for members. * Zero communication from the person who booked me. This was supposed to be my dream vacation, and instead, I've been living a nightmare. I'm pursuing legal action regarding my timeshare investment and want a full refund. Do not waste your money or your time. Stay far away from Krystal Resort and avoid timeshares at all costs. I checked out immediately after the manager told me it was my fault for believing the photos and not calling and confirming what I expected. After that experience, I was so scared, but I had to get out of there. So I went to the Holiday Inn express. I highly recommend it. I just got here and I feel better already is exactly what you would expect compared to the nightmare I was at this is a palace in comparison. And their customer service is amazing. Check out is at 1 PM. What else you want and have amazing restaurants.

One star removed for location since it's far from all the fun things to do (El Malecon, Zona Romantica, and the white sand beaches). My bestie owns a time share and booked a room for us. We were definitely asked a couple of times to view a presentation, but we remained respectfully steadfast with our no-thank-yous, and they eventually left us alone. We didn't get all inclusive because I enjoy exploring local eats, but we dined at La Trattoria a couple of times for breakfast and lunch, as well as at the pool, the bar near the lobby, and at the seafood restaurant. The menus offer a wide variety of foods (Mexican, American, Italian, etc.), so there's definitely something for everyone, and the food was always delicious. Our room was on the 7th floor above the lobby and had a partial ocean view. It was clean and cozy, and I appreciated that it was serviced daily. Be sure to bring pesos to thank the room attendants for their hard work. Speaking of ocean, this hotel has private beach access with a couple dozen or so lounge chairs. The water is warm and clear on most days, but this is not the part of PV that has the glorious coastline. You'll have to travel farther south for that. The gym was spectacular and had all the equipment needed for a fabulous sweat session, plus a water dispenser, iced green tea, and fresh towels. The spa was very basic. It's just a place to get a facial or massage. There's not really a place to hang out afterwards besides the tea room. I had a full body massage, and it was heavenly. The best experience was a private three-course meal prepared by the chefs at the seafood restaurant. The boys caught some fish, and chefs Cristian and Carlos Javier made us phenomenal fresh ceviche and seared fillets using their catches. Ask concierge for more details. I would like to specifically mention Morfin and Daniel, who treated us like royalty at the pool; Patti, our joyful breakfast hostess; Ricardo, who accommodated our needs everywhere we went; and, of course, our chefs who made our first trip to PV so memorable. Muchisimas gracias por su hospitalidad. Pro Tip: Be sure to exchange your currency for pesos before arriving. The exchange rate on site is extremely high. Bring an abundance of smaller bills (50s, 100s, and 200s) for tips and taxi rides. Although this hotel is located far from the heart of PV, taxis are always available and super affordable. It should cost around 85 pesos for a ride to The Malecon. The beautiful white sand beaches with cerulean waters are about 30-40 minutes away.

I stayed at Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta in 2016 through an approved travel package and had a…read moregood experience at that time. Because of that prior experience, I later purchased another package in 2019, but I was unable to travel due to Covid and allowed that package to expire. I purchased another package in November 2024. Before purchasing, I specifically asked about the additional resort fees and was told they were approximately $30 per day. When I recently tried to schedule the trip before the certificate expired, I was told the required additional fees for a 6-day/5-night package would be $397.80, on top of what I had already paid for the package. This was substantially higher than what I was told to expect. When I questioned the amount, the travel specialist, Juan Ignacio Gonzalez Carretero, stated in writing: "Actually, we don't have standard rates for the resort fees; the amounts provided are based on the resort's real, live rates that you can check and compare directly on their website: Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta." I attempted to verify the fees on the Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta website, as instructed, but I was unable to locate a clear resort-fee schedule or rate information matching the amount I was quoted. The communication was also very disappointing. During the phone call, the representative spoke over me, repeatedly insisted the price would not change, and attempted to get me to authorize cancellation of the package even though I had not requested cancellation. I was also told to contact the broker, but the phone number provided repeatedly disconnected. This experience raised serious concerns for me. It felt misleading to be quoted one general resort-fee expectation at purchase and then later be told the fees were nearly $400 when trying to actually book the trip. It also felt like pressure was being placed on me to cancel the package rather than receive a clear explanation of the charges. At this point, I am not comfortable paying additional fees that are significantly higher than what I was told to expect. I will likely book travel elsewhere and consider this a financial loss. I would strongly caution others to get every fee in writing before purchasing any package or certificate connected to this resort or booking process, including resort fees, all-inclusive fees, taxes, expiration terms, cancellation terms, and whether the fees are fixed or subject to change. Update: The representative responded again but still did not provide a breakdown of the $397.80 charge. I specifically asked whether the charge was a resort fee, all-inclusive fee, tax, or another type of charge, and requested the official written terms showing how the amount is calculated. Instead, I was told that his prior email served as the "official follow-up" unless I had a different document from my original purchase. This is concerning because the amount being requested is substantial and was not clearly explained. If a resort or its booking partner requires nearly $400 in additional fees, customers should be able to see exactly what those fees are, how they are calculated, and where they were disclosed at the time of purchase.
