    sliding door lock broken

This is my second trip to Grand Park Royal Puerto Vallarta. The reason we tried a second time was it was a last minute trip and all other Royal-Holiday locations were booked. We checked in on 12/20/25 and out on 12/24/25 and stayed ont he 6th floor. This is my review from beginning to end. 1. No resort trasnportation to and from airport. You have to run the "Gauntlet" which first price was $95USD, once outside the airport dors we found a cab that took us to resort for $34USD. Would have preferred the resort transportation for safety and pricing concerns. 2. Food Options are an issue in the "Veranda", Buffet. a. Breakfast options are good except meat options are primarily pork. b. Lunch and dinner options were the same for 3-days and finally changed up on the 4th day. Mainly pork options, again, same fish daily. Beef was very fatty.Very disapointed on the ooptions in the buffet. Same food different day. C. Tacos, Taquitos, and Tostadas were all pork. the one day they had chicken taquitos, the chicken was very dry. d. I was very disapointed in the options and taste of the lunch and dinner. e. for the most part the restaurant staff was very good, attentive and polite. f. food labeling was almost non existent. you had to wait to find a staff member to ask what meat was in the food and/or what the food was if you could not identify it. At times the staff had to send out the cooks to let us know. g. Salsas were also not labeled by heat level. Couple of times i just rolled the dice and got burned... 3. NOISE!!!- The resort was very loud at night. Walls are very thin including the ceiling. I heard rooms next or above us, when chairs were moved, coughing, toilets flushing, etc.... Cars driving down the main road was very loud. There was zero sound proofing of the room. The main door was not sealed properly. The events at night would go on late and the bars later and we heard everything. I did not have a good nights sleep any night. A couple of times i heard drawers opening and chairs moving, and my first thought it was my wife but it was actually a room next to us. I can handle some noise but this was unbearable. 4. Staff- The staff was not the issue they were pretty good especially Arlyss our concierge. 5. The pool- For the second trip in a row they booked a wedding or formal event at the pool. They completely closed off one of the pools. Something i should have been notified about. The day after the event that same pool was closed off again. This cuased the two other pools to be packed. we couldnt evern enjoy it. there is a smoking section that leads to the beach from the pool area. Threre are signs everywhere that says "No Smoking". This area needs to be eliminated or moved. Everytime we walked to the shore we walked past the smokers and anytine there was a gust of wind we smelt it at the pool area. This issue was a repeat from our last trip. 6. The beach area was very nice. waves were rough a couple of days but at no fault to the resort. Great location. 7. Elevators- They are very small, extremly slow and not enough of them. One elevator was out of service also the entire stay we were there. Each elevator holds about 6-people. There were multiple times we had to wait for the next one because it was full or we just took the stairs. 8. The drinks at the bars were great and they were NOT cheap on the alcohol. 9. Maintenance- Every year i, along with other Time Share Owners pay a maintenance fee. Where is that money going. a.Rooms- Door lock broken, Door not sealed, Cracks on the flooring, Craks and chips of sinks/countertops. b. Dining room tables cracked and corners broken off. c. pool- stains on patio furniture, cracks on concrete. d. Elevators look like courthouse elevators. Cracks everywhere. Floors broken/carpet pulling up, walls peeling away, exremely slow and out of service. 10. the room view was very good overlooking the ocean. Overall and very dispaointing stay for a Resort/Time Share i am a part owner of. Royal-Holiday needs to inspect this resort to see if it is up to there standards. I will NOT stay at this resport ever again.

Room service burger with no fries.

We checked into this hotel for a quick family vacation and it had just been one disappointment after another. Outside of a few employees here no one goes out of their way to make you feel welcome at this resort. Yesterday I tried to order room service while my wife got ready to go out on the town. The phone for room service rang for over 45 minutes with no answer. Next I tried calling the front desk and it was another hour without an answer. As we were leaving my wife stopped at the desk to see what the deal was no one seemed concerned that phones aren't answered. We were instructed to come to the front desk to place an order. Later when we got back to the hotel around 11 I went to the front Desk to just order French Fries. I was told that I can't order just fries. I have to order a burger or club sandwich and they come with fries. As stupid as that sounds I ordered 2 burgers and a club sandwich to get fries. After 40 minutes we got our food and there were only fries on two of our orders that totaled less than 20 French fries. The reason I wanted just fries is because most of the food here hasn't been very good and I figured how bad can they mess that up? The food is bad and I can overlook that if that was the only problem with the resort, but the worst part is the majority of the staff. Most don't acknowledge me or my wife. Hardly any eye contact or greetings. I apologize for not remembering names but the gentleman who checked me in was nice and the bellman who brought our bags was friendly as well. Everyone else seems bothered by the guests of the hotel. I worked in hospitality for over 20 years in Las Vegas and know that it is possible to do better. I could go on but I'm going to do my best to enjoy the last day of my vacation.

The worst experience for my daughter and granddaughter. They only had ONE weekend off and chose to return to this resort only to contract food poisoning, sleep with bugs, be blamed for the last party's mess, and leave hungry. Luckily they had a car. None of these people care that vacations are so few and far between. As a 4th generation hospitality owner, I see nothing but systemic failures.

One of the best views from the room I've had. Good shade during most of the day. Ocean is pretty rough. Red flag (do not swim) has been out our full trip. Brought snorkeling stuff but water is dirty and couldn't see any fish. Food is ok. As with most all inclusive places, order double what you normally do and usually you'll find a few things you like, while the others you don't like/eat. No one answers for room service when you call but they have an app you can use to order food. Shows up about 20-40 minutes past the time stated. Rooms are very nice looking but smell like mold. Our shower door doesn't shut all the way but you can still shower. Staff is great and friendly. Coffee bar is good. I recommend the tacos at the Mexican restaurant. The Chilequillas for breakfast is great! Our biggest issue was they deactivated our key bracelets to get us to come to the front desk. Even though we checked in and provided everything they asked for they said they needed the confirmation from our travel agency. Strange. Not fun to just find ourselves locked out in the heat.

This is an area where they have shows and where you can dance

We have been here four times we love this place. We have been all over the world and there's no place like this one is very good. You have to be nice to people, A fewtips go a longtips along way. People are very kind and are amazing. The rooms are amazing. We get there royal deluxe room. views are amazing one side is a jungle and one side is an ocean. It's a little far from the city, but it's because it's away from all the commotion. It's private beach Is like Cancun . The waves are not strong maybe someday when the weather is not good but they alert you whether or not. Picked up directly from your beach to go snorkeling, fishing or whatever activities you like . They have a kids club that watches the kids. We are from America. We have been here so many times the same people that were here four years ago are here taking care of everyone. My kids love them. They know them by name. we've never had any issues and it is very safe. If I could give this 10 stars, I would.

Hotel is really nice with a great private beach. The service was spotty at best, often with long waits for food orders. Food was not very good except for omelets for breakfast. We went downtown to eat mostly and actually prefer to do that regardless of the food quality at the hotel. This place is reasonably priced and would probably stay here again. Just plan on eating most of your meals downtown.

Besides the food being EXTREMELY ... bad .... This place was great. Every room had a amazing view , staff was very friendly and helpful. The drinks were amazing . Laid back environment, private beach and great pools. Rooftop pool is a must for an extra 25$! Would definitely stay again if the food wasn't trash.

    Bed bug bites

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Bad service food is not very good. Beds are very hard.. bars only have 2 choices of beer. Ordered room service for lunch and they never brought it. When we first arrived they made sure everything was paid for before checking in and charged a extra $215 so we paid they also wanted us to go to a mandatory meeting to get another package and if we did not attend the 1 hour and a half meeting they were going to charge us a extra $900!!!! once we were ready to check out they told us we are not allowed to leave because we owe $1.50 left. Guest service has no polite customer service when we were expressing our concerned the guy there laughed at us. On top of that we found bed bugs on our last night there and got bit.

Hotel is newly renovated and very nice to stay inn. Rooms are spacious even though there is only 2 bedroom suites. The bathroom is really big which is cool a lot of space to move around and the view is to die for. The only bad side is that you can hear all the people from the pool we were on the 6th floor but god poor people in lower floors. The food is not great in the buffet but its edible. In Frida's restaurant the food is good but too spicy for my taste. In el pescador the seafood was good but too little in portions The Italian restaurant was the best food in the place for me. The pool and the beach were good great water temperature. The hotel is supposed to include the covid test, they have a nurse that goes and administer the test and the result takes about 24-72 hours to be ready but they never mentioned this we found out last minute which is not the greatest costumer service. The staff is pretty amicable and helpful.

I would suggest just booking a cheap hotel in the romantic zone and skip this place. Especially if you have any standard with food. We found it to be pretty disappointing.

All rooms have a deck facing the ocean, allowing for great sunset views and whale watching. The small beach has built in cabanas and staff will bring lounges or chairs to you. Immediately in front of the beach are large rocks, which break the surf but obstruct the ocean view. The resort has an open air restaurant and bar with excellent views of the ocean. However, service is inconsistent and the food is unremarkable. Similarly, the bar serves a variety of drinks but are mediocre. Restaurant and bar staff are slow and not motivated to provide good service. The resort uses an arcane and cumbersome method to have you sign receipts for your food and drink orders. Much better food, drinks, and service can be found in restaurants and bars throughout PV. Other small hotels and condominiums surround the resort but there is a pharmacy and small convenience store less than a half a mile away and can be walked to along the main road. If you rent a car, parking is minimal, maybe only 6 or so spaces. Taxi service is quick at the resort. The southern edge of PV is about a mile walk along the shoreline through a mix of beach and rocky sections, and likely not passable during high tide. Overall, our stay was pleasant. If you are looking for a quiet place and not picky about food, drinks, or service, you may like Lindo Mar. However, there are better and more modern resorts to choose from in the PV area.

I kindly asked them what other spots can we go that's nearby and not in downtown and the waitress recommended me Lindo Mar. We called to make sure they're open and they were also about to close but the guy said he can take us if we come in 5 min. We took an uber there and asked again if they can take us and it was close to closing and they kindly took us! I was so appreciative and felt bad for staying late when they were about to close the kitchen but during our time there, we didn't feel any rush, the servers were so attentive and welcoming. So thank you Lindo Mar Resort! Now about the food, I was craving a burrito so I was disappointed they don't have burritos here so I just got the chicken fajitas and my fiancé got the beef fajitas. They were both really good and cooked well done even though it was all late and we were the last ones. Unfortunately it was too dark to enjoy the views but sitting right by the ocean and hearing the waves in the quiet was still beautiful. Now I know about this spot because you wouldn't think it's a restaurant when you pass by. Would love to stop by again but during the day to enjoy the views more!

It smelled like heavy mold & mildew, and when we opened the curtains to see the patio, it was a concrete enclosure with no view of even the sky - just a couple of "windows" with white opaque plastic instead of glass, which was the only source of light for the patio! The room did not even have a refrigerator (and this all-inclusive resort advertises that refrigerators are stocked daily with beer & sodas & water)! I could not stand the mildew smell and we immediately went to the front desk and complained. They said they only had one other room available in our category (I still have no idea what category we had - it certainly wasn't the cheapest! ) The desk clerk walked us up to the room to see if we'd take it and it was a no brainer! No mildew smell, & a balcony with a view of water over roofs and surrounding properties. Still 2 beds, but we gladly took it (#619). They have an app for phones called Go Guest, but it does not work properly. Once I registered, we were supposed to be able to use it to book specialty restaurant reservations, but that never worked! Thank goodness for WhatsApp, because that is how we ended up finally getting a reservation for my husband's birthday dinner. There is construction going on in several places, and at no time did all of the elevators work. One of the elevators is the only accessible way to get to the poke & sushi rooftop bar, and it was broken when we tried to go there. It also closes at 8pm. The buffet restaurant does not require reservations, but the food is not great. Some of the dishes were excellent, but some were overcooked and dry and some were practically tasteless. The best food was usually the Mexican dishes, and the ceviche was great. This is our first & last time staying at this place. I will be sure to let customers know of our experience. I'm giving 2 stars because staff members were cordial, beachfront location is great, pool area is very nice, and daily activities offered were decent.

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Catfish Nightmare!…read more I am completely appalled by my experience at Krystal Hotel Puerto Vallarta - this place is a total catfish and should be ashamed to operate under the guise of a resort. I'm a timeshare member, and this was my first experience using the membership I've already invested over $15,000 in. What I got in return was a rundown, dirty, unsafe, and frankly traumatizing experience. From the moment I arrived, the property reeked of raw sewage, the "members' villas" were severely outdated, windows didn't even close, and doors barely locked. I didn't feel safe for a single second. The entire property looked abandoned, more like a set from a horror movie than a vacation destination - I even saw a noose hanging from a tree and feral cats roaming around that looked sick and possibly rabid. To make things worse, when I raised my concerns to management, I was blamed for booking there without calling ahead, as if it's my fault I trusted the misleading photos and dishonest reviews. How is it my fault that they misrepresent the resort online? And it gets worse. I paid in May for a reservation in June and was never even given an address by the timeshare contact. I had to Google the property myself, and when I arrived, the taxi driver told me there are multiple Krystal locations. I had to call around just to find where I was staying. That's unacceptable. Once I finally got there, I was in shock at how horrifying the property looked. The front desk's response? "What did you expect?" That tells you everything you need to know. On top of all this, the "all-inclusive" system is a scam. As a timeshare member, I was told I'd have to pay $100 per person per night for meals - yet a non-member off the street only pays $76 for full all-inclusive access. How does that make any sense? Bottom line: * Unsafe, unsanitary, outdated. * No accountability from staff or management. * Scam-level pricing structure for members. * Zero communication from the person who booked me. This was supposed to be my dream vacation, and instead, I've been living a nightmare. I'm pursuing legal action regarding my timeshare investment and want a full refund. Do not waste your money or your time. Stay far away from Krystal Resort and avoid timeshares at all costs. I checked out immediately after the manager told me it was my fault for believing the photos and not calling and confirming what I expected. After that experience, I was so scared, but I had to get out of there. So I went to the Holiday Inn express. I highly recommend it. I just got here and I feel better already is exactly what you would expect compared to the nightmare I was at this is a palace in comparison. And their customer service is amazing. Check out is at 1 PM. What else you want and have amazing restaurants.

One star removed for location since it's far from all the fun things to do (El Malecon, Zona Romantica, and the white sand beaches). My bestie owns a time share and booked a room for us. We were definitely asked a couple of times to view a presentation, but we remained respectfully steadfast with our no-thank-yous, and they eventually left us alone. We didn't get all inclusive because I enjoy exploring local eats, but we dined at La Trattoria a couple of times for breakfast and lunch, as well as at the pool, the bar near the lobby, and at the seafood restaurant. The menus offer a wide variety of foods (Mexican, American, Italian, etc.), so there's definitely something for everyone, and the food was always delicious. Our room was on the 7th floor above the lobby and had a partial ocean view. It was clean and cozy, and I appreciated that it was serviced daily. Be sure to bring pesos to thank the room attendants for their hard work. Speaking of ocean, this hotel has private beach access with a couple dozen or so lounge chairs. The water is warm and clear on most days, but this is not the part of PV that has the glorious coastline. You'll have to travel farther south for that. The gym was spectacular and had all the equipment needed for a fabulous sweat session, plus a water dispenser, iced green tea, and fresh towels. The spa was very basic. It's just a place to get a facial or massage. There's not really a place to hang out afterwards besides the tea room. I had a full body massage, and it was heavenly. The best experience was a private three-course meal prepared by the chefs at the seafood restaurant. The boys caught some fish, and chefs Cristian and Carlos Javier made us phenomenal fresh ceviche and seared fillets using their catches. Ask concierge for more details. I would like to specifically mention Morfin and Daniel, who treated us like royalty at the pool; Patti, our joyful breakfast hostess; Ricardo, who accommodated our needs everywhere we went; and, of course, our chefs who made our first trip to PV so memorable. Muchisimas gracias por su hospitalidad. Pro Tip: Be sure to exchange your currency for pesos before arriving. The exchange rate on site is extremely high. Bring an abundance of smaller bills (50s, 100s, and 200s) for tips and taxi rides. Although this hotel is located far from the heart of PV, taxis are always available and super affordable. It should cost around 85 pesos for a ride to The Malecon. The beautiful white sand beaches with cerulean waters are about 30-40 minutes away.

I stayed at Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta in 2016 through an approved travel package and had a…read moregood experience at that time. Because of that prior experience, I later purchased another package in 2019, but I was unable to travel due to Covid and allowed that package to expire. I purchased another package in November 2024. Before purchasing, I specifically asked about the additional resort fees and was told they were approximately $30 per day. When I recently tried to schedule the trip before the certificate expired, I was told the required additional fees for a 6-day/5-night package would be $397.80, on top of what I had already paid for the package. This was substantially higher than what I was told to expect. When I questioned the amount, the travel specialist, Juan Ignacio Gonzalez Carretero, stated in writing: "Actually, we don't have standard rates for the resort fees; the amounts provided are based on the resort's real, live rates that you can check and compare directly on their website: Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta." I attempted to verify the fees on the Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta website, as instructed, but I was unable to locate a clear resort-fee schedule or rate information matching the amount I was quoted. The communication was also very disappointing. During the phone call, the representative spoke over me, repeatedly insisted the price would not change, and attempted to get me to authorize cancellation of the package even though I had not requested cancellation. I was also told to contact the broker, but the phone number provided repeatedly disconnected. This experience raised serious concerns for me. It felt misleading to be quoted one general resort-fee expectation at purchase and then later be told the fees were nearly $400 when trying to actually book the trip. It also felt like pressure was being placed on me to cancel the package rather than receive a clear explanation of the charges. At this point, I am not comfortable paying additional fees that are significantly higher than what I was told to expect. I will likely book travel elsewhere and consider this a financial loss. I would strongly caution others to get every fee in writing before purchasing any package or certificate connected to this resort or booking process, including resort fees, all-inclusive fees, taxes, expiration terms, cancellation terms, and whether the fees are fixed or subject to change. Update: The representative responded again but still did not provide a breakdown of the $397.80 charge. I specifically asked whether the charge was a resort fee, all-inclusive fee, tax, or another type of charge, and requested the official written terms showing how the amount is calculated. Instead, I was told that his prior email served as the "official follow-up" unless I had a different document from my original purchase. This is concerning because the amount being requested is substantial and was not clearly explained. If a resort or its booking partner requires nearly $400 in additional fees, customers should be able to see exactly what those fees are, how they are calculated, and where they were disclosed at the time of purchase.
