    Soooo many great options!

I've been to a few Gashapon locations or at least places that carry them but this place seems to have the best selection. I've even been to most every place down in Little Tokyo and this particular one is my favorite. There is a pretty large selection and as someone who is always on the hunt for either Sanrio or Demon Slayer collectibles, this place had so many to choose from. The staff was helpful and attentive and they took both cash and card which was nice cause most places only take cash. I will say that these tended to be a little bit more on the pricier side for what you get compared to some other places but I still found it to be worth it with the large variety they had. I also loved the location, right in the heart of Sawtelle. Was nice to grab a bite to eat or an ice cream at Wanderlust and then stop at some of the Anime shops around the corner! Will be coming out and suggest at least checking out!

Wow! They really put in a Gotchapon shop in little Osaka. Surprised to see them popping up all around Los Angeles, and finally got one close to my area. My biggest problem with it is if I get one, then I feel like I have to collect them all. So I have to practice a little self-control and not go crazy. I really have fun with these little toys and it brings back really good memories of my childhood. The only difference is I remember them being $.25. Unfortunately I guess due to inflation a token runs two dollars. It's easy to understand since a lot of the items are some of my favorite licenses. There were even some hello Kitty mashup Collab options. When I first was walking through the parking lot towards the shop, I was wondering why the line was so long? Well, it turns out that the Kuro waitlist was holding up along the front of the store. So luckily, it wasn't too crowded inside, and there was plenty of room to browse and choose. Typically, these places are really tight spaces, but have a really good selection. I spent a few bucks and more than a few minutes, reliving my childhood.

What an intriguing place to walk into off Sawtelle street. I had no idea what this store is about but caught my eye! The store was filled with gum ball machines, but didn't have gum. Instead for 2 dollars you got a plastic figurine! I am sure for people who are followers of this store know the items in machine, but unfortunately I didn't get to learn more as clerk was not friendly!

This is a fun spot to stop into while waiting for a table on Sawtelle or at Kura next door. They have lots of cute toys on rotation. Each token is $2, and most figures cost $4, though some are more expensive. It is a bit pricey for small toys, but it's still a fun and cute experience to try.

This business must be closed permanently. The hours posted are 11am every day of the week. Arrived Thursday (4/25/24) and waited until 11:30 am and the place remained closed. Edit: I guess I'll add that if it isn't in fact permanently closed it's unacceptably unprofessional to open "whenever" as opposed to the hours listed online and in person. So the 1 star is well deserved.

The kids had fun picking out different toys, they weren't cheap and they are small but you are paying more for the experience.

We didn't know the family or child well, only that he was turning four and has an older brother. I purposely wanted to shop local and support an independent business, and a quick search on Yelp led me here. We arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday, which was great because parking meters end at 4pm and we found parking out front easily. We were greeted by an employee behind the desk as we walked in. She asked if there was anything she could help us find, and I let her know we were first time customers looking for a birthday gift with the details mentioned above. She let us know the layout of the store, her suggestions, but let us look freely. Over time more customers arrived with small children, and received the same courteous service. The store is clean and curated. I appreciated seeing well made toys and items inspiring imaginative play, rather than cheap plastic with distracting lights or sounds. I eventually chose a doctor play set as well as some items for my own children, such as animal figures and stamp markers. They offer free gift wrapping, which is a nice touch. The one alarming fact that stood out is that there were many empty storefronts on their block, so it's more important than ever to support our local economy. Their prices reflect investment in well made items, so I would not come here expecting big box store deals. In a world full of Target and Amazon, I would rather spend my money supporting a local, independent business. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back with our kids this holiday season.

Really Great Store and Hidden Gem I shopped in years every time I visit Los Angeles…read more Staff there is very down to earth and kind. But this store has a variety of selection such as Chogokins, Gunpla, Prize Figs, Construction Kits, Etc... Prices there are very reasonable too, honestly, I prefer going to this store compared to places like Jungle or Robot4Less due to price reasons. I would absolutely recommend this store for those who are in the hobby or starting to get into a hobby.

Hidden Gem Alert!…read more Attention hobbyists and gift givers: Neo Happyland might just be your new happy place. Circumstances brought me to this unique and fun store that is practically hidden on the first floor of what appeared to be an abandoned mall in Chinatown, the Bamboo Plaza. Had I not known about this store and its location before visiting, I probably would not have entered the plaza. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Natalie one of the store owners. I then met with Alan, her husband and co-owner. Both were super personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I overheard them conversing about some of the products with other customers in the store. They really knew their product. The store was jampacked with products from floor to ceiling. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to see. There were so many different model kits to choose from (Pokemon, Bandai, Gundam, etc.). They also had figurines, model paint, books, stickers, Gundam decals, Book Nook and Wonderland items, Pokemon Mini Building Blocks, other building blocks, DVDs and other fun items. Everything was well stocked and neatly organized. I appreciated that most of the items were displayed behind glass so that you could see the actual product vs just looking at the picture on the box. Even though I am an adult, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I did not leave empty-handed. :) If you're looking for a wonderful brick and mortar hobby shop with Asian flair, I highly recommend this shop.

Located on the corner of Main Street and Garfield Ave, it is a great place to visit while going for a stroll in the heart of downtown Alhambra. Plenty of great eateries and cinemas in the vicinity as well. A free parking garage is conveniently accessible right behind the shop, in addition to street parking. Although the shop is small, they were able to feature hundreds of items without it being overwhelming. As a newbie to the current line of collectibles, Top Canvas serves as a great introduction to the new trend. As I walked in, a young woman politely greeted me and offered me assistance. Upon request, she promptly directed me to the Mofusand plushies and a wall of keychains. She took down the plushies from the shelves, so I could take a good look at all of them. And then, I spotted one very adorable Hello Kitty plushie holding a strawberry which totally makes a great Valentine's Day gift. For less than twenty bucks, I quickly secured my choice and went on to explore the rest of the shop. The average prices range from $9.99 to $29.99, so you can build up your collections without breaking the bank. Top Canvas is a great place for buying gifts on a budget, as they offer so many cute things for under $20. I also purchased 2 Lokiki blind box plushies as gifts. The gift recipient seems to love it, because it's always fun to open up a blind box. She totally adores her Lokiki plushie. Without a doubt, the highlight of my visit is the wall of Mofusand keychains! At $9.99 each, big or small, these are just too darn cute to pass up. I want them all!! Some of the more expensive and fragile collectibles are showcased behind glass. Great for avid collectors!! Tired of shopping on Amazon like me?? Then support your local business and come to Top Canvas. It's so much more fun to go shopping at a brick-and-mortar store where one can actually physically feel and touch what they're buying.
