I used this firm for my divorce. Unfortunately, the communication was lacking. I emailed my assigned lawyer multiple times and received no response. The paralegal I was assigned left the firm almost immediately after I was given her contact information. Fortunately my lawyer, Jillian, did catch a couple important details for me towards the end of the process when my spouse tried to go back on terms we had already agreed on. My experience with this firm was profoundly disappointing and, in my opinion, deeply damaging during one of the most important matters of my life: a family court case involving my daughter. From the beginning, communication was poor, inconsistent, and disorganized. Multiple people who handled my case were either terminated or left the firm, and important information was not properly transferred, preserved, or relayed. I repeatedly had to re-explain facts, provide documentation, and do much of the preparation myself. The most serious issue occurred when my drug test results were misread. I was told and treated as though I had tested positive for numerous substances, despite repeatedly insisting that was impossible and providing additional testing that showed negative results. For roughly two weeks, I endured immense stress, anxiety, and humiliation while both attorneys involved failed to believe me and treated me like a drug user. Eventually, after Jenny finally looked deeper into the matter, she acknowledged that Jillian had made a major mistake: the results had been read incorrectly, and what they claimed were positives were actually all negatives. Jenny acknowledged the seriousness of that mistake both verbally and in writing. She apologized, pleaded with me to stay with the firm, and promised that she would personally represent me moving forward at no cost, including future related representation if needed. Based on that promise, I accepted the apology and stayed. Unfortunately, the firm immediately failed to follow through. Jenny did not directly represent me as promised. Instead, Jillian remained involved after a revolving door of staff had already mishandled my case. I continued doing most of the communication and preparation myself, while Jillian often appeared at hearings last minute, unprepared, and seemingly unable to clearly present the facts or advocate effectively. Her courtroom performance felt inexperienced and ineffective, which contributed to unnecessary hearings and delays despite my doing everything asked of me as a client: passing drug tests, telling the truth, complying with court orders, communicating promptly, and staying out of trouble. After several hearings, Jenny finally appeared and pushed the matter toward trial because she believed, as did the court, that this was a straightforward joint legal and physical custody case. But shortly after that, without meaningful communication, her team sent me invoices and new contracts for trial representation. When I asked for clarification, I was told they still intended to bill me for trial. I contacted Jenny directly because there was clear verbal and written agreement that she would represent me for free moving forward due to the firm's prior negligence. She then walked back that promise, stating that the firm had already spent significant time on my case and that she had not expected it to go to trial. I even attempted to propose a reasonable resolution, including forfeiting the promised future free representation in exchange for honoring the promise through trial. That was rejected, and instead of directly resolving the issue, the firm moved to withdraw. This firm's lack of organization, poor communication, mishandling of critical evidence, and failure to honor its own promises caused unnecessary stress, delay, expense, and damage during a custody case involving my child. Being wrongly treated like a drug addict because of their own mistake, then being promised free representation as a remedy, only to have that promise walked back when it mattered most, was extraordinarily wrong. The internal disorganization, staff turnover, lack of accountability, and broken promises did not stay internal -- they directly harmed me as a client. I hope this firm either learns from what happened or, at minimum, that others are warned before trusting them with something as serious as their children, their reputation, and their future. read more

I hired Attorney Lisa Woodson from the Gastelum Attorneys Group to handle my divorce nearly two years ago after finding her on Yelp. She had excellent reviews, which gave me confidence that I was hiring the right attorney. Unfortunately, my experience has been completely different. My divorce does not involve children, child support, or spousal support. The only is the division of two homes equality, yet after almost two years, my case still has not been resolved. During this time, I have paid more than $22,000 in legal fees and, from my perspective, I have seen very little progress. One experience that concerned me happened after my initial consultation. A friend who drove me to the appointment told me that the receptionist offered them a Starbucks gift card in exchange for posting a positive Yelp review before leaving the office. That experience made me question whether the online reviews accurately reflected clients' experiences. I also noticed that nearly every time I went to the office for an appointment, there seemed to be a different receptionist or secretary. While staff changes can happen for many reasons, the frequent turnover stood out for me. Most recently, I was told that I needed to pay an additional $8,000 before my next hearing and that if I did not, Attorney Woodson would not appear at the hearing. That was extremely upsetting and left me feeling like I had no choice but to continue paying significant legal fees. Overall, I feel frustrated and disappointed with how my case has been handled. I expected clear communication, steady progress, and reasonable costs. Instead, I have experienced lengthy delays, substantial legal fees, and very little resolution. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Attorney Lisa Woodson. I had a deeply disappointing experience with this law firm, SERIOUSLY RUN!! After paying a substantial retainer, I received virtually no service in return. I only spoke with the actual attorney in person three times, and none of those conversations led to any progress on my case.
