The food and ambiance at Karg Bräustürbl was fantastic! Booths that can comfortable seat 6-8 is awesome. It's intimate. And, it's authentic. Things moved slowly on our night there. We were not rushed. We enjoyed playing a few hands and sipping our beer. The Schweinshaxe is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside-- and, large enough to be shared! Our waitress was fantastic. She sat down and chatted us up a bit. She seemed to know all the locals. One local couple came over and was very curious of the card game we we were playing. The Gus in the booth next to us also chatted a bit. It was a great experience. If you're near Karg Bräustürbl, you are already off the beaten path! Stop in a for a great local experience and meal!

It is off the main…read morehighway but a welcome change from the throngs of tourists we encountered at Neuschwanstein Castle 30 mins earlier. The place is warm and inviting. Mostly natives...but a little english is spoken, they have english menus available and the food is good and plentiful! A great out of the way stop. The kids enjoyed the playground outside while waiting form their food to arrive.
