Whenever we have a family meal after hiking, skiing or find ourselves with a bunch of people needing a good meal, we make plans of going to Heimgarten Restaurant - been doing so for years. The place is the way a Bavarian restaurant should be. Very friendly, local decor but not kitschy or fake, and it has fresh, delicious and very affordable meals. The kids love it, too. In summer, you can sit in the little Biergarten out the back, mingling with locals and tourists alike. There is a small playground for the kids, too. read more

Auch dieses Jahr waren wir regelmäßig Gast im Restaurant Heimgarten und wurden wie auch in den vergangenen Jahren nie enttäuscht - Essen war wie immer top, sei es aus der bayerischen Küche oder andere Gerichte, wurde frisch zubereitet, abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte und auch unsere Wünsche wurden erfüllt, wir wurden von Anfang an verwöhnt. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung, Ambiente stimmt - wir können den Heimgarten auf jeden Fall mit 5 Sternen weiter empfehlen und kommen nächstes Jahr auf jeden Fall wieder:-) read more

Often crowded and tables reserved after 6:30pm. We had the schnitzel with pomme frites-huge portion of pork schnitzel and great fries. Also had the bauern schnitzel-huge portion of pork schnitzel stuffed (cordon bleu style) with ham slices and cheese. I also tried the scheinebraten (pork roast with 2 dumplings.) Never left hungry. Asked for an after dinner shot recommendation and tried the marrile schnapps (apricot liquor.) The beers are awesome and ladies loved the Radler-half beer/half carbonated clear soda (think 7Up or sprite.) Lighter than a regular beer. Awesome value.

Our waitress was fantastic. She sat down and chatted us up a bit. She seemed to know all the locals. One local couple came over and was very curious of the card game we we were playing.
