Plus it's really really close to the airport. So if you're only in town for Oktoberfest and then leaving then I suggest staying outside the city limits of Munich. The pros: -It was really cheap to stay here compared to any hotel or Airbnb in Munich -It is a set price for your stay so no hidden fees -The staff speak English -The accommodations were quite nice and reasonable for our party of two -The have beer in the vending machines -They make pizzas on-site -The Wi-Fi was reasonably fast -The water stayed hot for a long period of time -The beds were reasonably comfy and the room was super clean -It's only about an hour to Munich by train -It's only about a 20-30 € taxi ride from Munich (as of Sept 2015) -check in/out was easy -they have maps and things on getting around Hallbergmoos and which transportation goes where The cons: -This place really is out in the middle of nowhere -It's kind of creepy finding this place at night as you have to walk through fields that aren't well lit or on highways that also aren't lit -There are not a lot of places to eat and the grocery stores are about 10-15 mins from the hotel -The breakfast is an extra 10 € per person and it's definitely not worth the money as it's just dry cereal, fruit, coffee, juice and breads. I think they had hard-boiled eggs, but I forget. -lots of good stuff including beer and adult beverages in the vending machine -You have to catch a bus from the train station like 15 stops to get to the right stop -Not easy to find using Google Maps directions Overall I thought this place was awesome for only 59.00 € + the breakfast. Some people may not like the inconvenience of not being right in the heart of the big city and will pay more for convenience. The trains are hyper fast so I really didn't mind. We got a tourist 3 day train pass from the train station so all the public transportation is basically included for about 20 €. It was perfect during our stay for Oktoberfest and plus since it's one of the last stops on the train most of the drunk people had already gotten off and we were able to rest and relax in the B&B.

Freising (fry sing) is a small town, untouched by WW II. The town and hotel were used by American forces as a headquarters after WW II. It is charming, easy to walk around and full of decent stores, shops and restaurants. Cobbled stone streets and clean as can be. The hotel is, likewise, clean and sited right in the middle of the main street. Very convenient for your explorations. The staff speaks excellent English and has been very accommodating as to directions and recommendations. Breakfast is served in their own dining room and you can either use the buffet itself, or special order eggs and some other custom breakfast items. You will need to eat lunch and dinner in the town.

This is a wonderful, clean and comfortable place to stay in the quaint Main Street in Freising near…read morethe cathedral. There are several dining and shopping establishments within walking distance. The staff members were very helpful and helped us with options to get quickly to the airport. We were…read moreable to come in from out trip to the Netherlands and not just have a Hilton experience we've grown accustomed to when choosing a hotel but the convenience of walking to the airport the next morning ( 10 minute walk to our gate) was priceless. The entire family got to relax after a long day on the train and get some good sleep before it was time to come back home. There were food options within the hotel as well as right outside within the airport, there's even a grocery store 5 minutes away. Everything was clean, and very spacious my biggest let down was they even had a pool but after 1700 so 5pm kids could not swim and being we got here after 5 that gave us 0 chance to unwind which was such a let down especially since we booked this knowing the kids could swim for a little before bed. But the convenience itself is still worth it, we didn't have to deal with the stress of figuring out a shuttle 6am and it was spotless so even though the pool was a let down we'd book again in a heartbeat.

the good: great location. about a 3 minute walk to lots of shops and restaurants…read more the not so good: the shower body wash was out and there was no shampoo. there was a musty smell in our room as well. we opened the windows and that seemed to clear it up. the bad: the rooms need updating. and regular maintenance. there were large stains on the carpet and the chair in our room. the mini bar area had a lot of dust and seemed like it hasn't been wiped down in quite a while. the cabinet that should have had a mini fridge was empty. also, the safe did not work. you swipe a card to lock it, then swipe it again to unlock. safe was locked when we got here, so maybe the person before us never unlocked it. the rooms seem very inconsistent. our friends got a different room that had a mini fridge, but their AC did not work. we haven't tried the breakfast, so can't comment on that. the convenient location earns it 2 stars. but other than that, I wouldn't really recommend it unless you could see your room first. edit: updated to 3 stars because their breakfast is delicious. the buffet has something for everyone. from delicious german sausages, to cold cereal, and many things in between.

It's Europe, so we should've known, but our non-smoking room smelled like smoke. I think they need to rip out the carpet (the room was all carpet) and install LVP. We had to leave the window open and run the fan continuously to make it bearable. Otherwise, our room was comfortable and spacious. The best part of this hotel is the breakfast. The best hotel breakfast I've ever had. Hands down. I'm not sure I'll have another like it. That's worth a stay here all on its own.

My very grumpy cab driver was upset that I wanted to pay with a credit card, so I was dumb enough to give him a tip to make up for the inconvenience, making that an €18 waste. The only nice thing about this hotel was the young woman at the check-in counter, who told me that the price of the buffet is really ridiculous and she apologized for it. She suggested I download a local app called Lieferando, which is similar to Uber eats, and get some food delivered. I decided to skip dinner instead Then you get to your room, down a dark corridor, with no ceiling and a bunch of exposed ductwork and pipes and other things because the whole thing is under construction. How ironic that I could see all that ductwork, because the air conditioning doesn't work and the room is a little hotbox. I couldn't figure out why the air conditioning was set to such a ridiculously low temperature, 50°F until I realized that the last person here must've sweat through the experience as well. You think it would be easy enough to just open the window and solve the problem, except that the window has a sticker on it that says do not open, and it doesn't open anyway. I hope the construction project next-door is not supposed to be another one of these hotels, but that's what it looks like. And that's about all I can see, a giant construction project right outside my window, from the first floor, also overlooking the parking lot. To call this entire experience a disappointment would be an understatement . I'm trying to put it out of my mind and pretend it never happened, because it's an awful ending of an otherwise great trip. My layover between planes was from 18:30 on Monday until 14:30 on Tuesday. I thought I should stay close to the airport, but in hindsight, I either should have stayed right at the airport, at the Hilton, or stayed in Munich and taken the train to get there. All the other options would have been more pleasant and less expensive. I will never stay in this hotel, or this chain again. Spare yourself the unpleasant experience. For €191, I expected more.

The bus stop is right outside the hotel so this was an excellent choice on our recent overnight layover in Munich. The hotel has a decent sized parking lot for people who are driving to the location. The lobby is well decorated and they have a restaurant in the lobby. We were checked in promptly on arrival and were given a room on the 2nd floor. The elevators are a bit small but we didn't have any luggage so that didn't really affect us. The rooms were very clean and the cozy. Even though we were right next to the airport but we were able to sleep comfortably through the night without hearing jets taking off and landing which usually is an issue for airport hotels. 4 star decent hotel with excellent pricing if you book through Expedia which I did.
