Extremely difficult to get an appointment if not feeling well. Appointments are usuallu one to two months out.

Run like a well-oiled machine. As soon as you get in the reception area there is a sign will all the doctor's names showing if they are running on time or not. ( all were). Checked in, and a few min. later went back with another employee to go over my address, phone number, date of birth, etc. And only a few minutes later was called back. The nurses were so kind. Doctor came in before the procedure. The only thing I would recommend is that they still offer graham crackers after the procedure like they used to. We are hungry! read more

Recently had colonoscopy done by Dr. Malikowski. First time patient here. The staff was excellent, very kind and professional. Never experienced any discomfort. Dr. Malikowski stopped to speak to me and answer any questions before and after procedure. They also follow up with you the next day to make sure all is well. I had to establish myself with a new GI Physician as the one that I was going to left the practice. Being in the healthcare field myself I asked my colleagues who they'd recommend. Gratefully I was referred to Dr. Elizabeth Gregory. I had my first office visit with her and it went extremely well. I did the pre check-in on my phone before the appointment and when I arrived I checked in at the Kiosk. It was very self explanatory and easy peasy. Not even 10 minutes went by and I was called back to see Dr. Gregory. This wasn't a routine visit, I was having some symptoms that I wanted addressed. She did a thorough exam and we had an in-depth conversation about what's been going on. She listened very attentively and recommended an EGD to rule anything out. I scheduled that right away after the appointment with the operating room scheduler and in a couple weeks had the EGD with Biopsy at an outpatient facility outside the office in the southtowns. Which by the way, the EGD was unremarkable and normal! Phew! All of the symptoms I was having ended up being related to stress. Stress really does a number on you! Dr. Gregory's bedside manner is absolutely amazing. She is down to earth, vibrant, positive and I appreciate her wealth of "up-to-date" knowledge! My biopsy results were communicated to me via the online patient portal and by good ole mail as well. With my extensive family history of colon cancer, I have to have a colonoscopy every five years so, I will see her again for my routine colonoscopy in the future. I highly recommend Dr. Gregory for your GI needs, concerns and issues. Her quality of care, knowledge and bed side manner is stellar! read more

Dr Gregory was polite and seemed fine but the office was disgusting. The floors were still waterstained from winter when I was there in August. The exam room chair had no cover on the ugly foam rubber I was subjected to sit in. I knew this item could not be cleaned. Hind site: I should not have sat down. There was no receptionist. Patients were required to wrestle with a computer on a stand. This impression led me to believe she was a dirty doctor read more

We had a terrible, uncaring experience while my wife was a patient at MFSH. She required several examinations by the GA doctors, but one more procedure could have been theraputic. They REFUSED over and over again to run the procedure while she was an inpatient. They said that they only do the procedure as an "outpatient". So, she was discharged with no theraputic care. When we called to set up the test as an "outpatient" we were told the waiting time was 2.5 months. My wife has already lost 40 pounds due to the condition. After several more calls to try to get the test sooner, we were told "we don't do that test for people who are not in our practice". Excuse me! We followed the instructions given in the hospital ... and now we have been rudely dismissed without the theraputic procedure. This is unconscionable. read more

I had been going here for many years and never missed any appointments! Until recently when I received a rude letter stating Dr. Naima Mian will no longer provide me medical help! Her reasoning was I did not follow her medical regimen for a colonoscopy. I had canceled my appointment 2 days before the surgery, due to a death in my family. I received a phone call my sister had 24 -36 hours to live! I was told be the secretary who schedules appointments that this was NOT an acceptable excuse to cancel! That it was up to me to still prep for the surgery while I was gone!! Who the hell thinks of this when your out of town, and grieving!! To have the shits at a funeral home while gerving!! The procedure never even entered my mind and why would it at a time like this?! I was also told she expects a letter in 30days requesting a transfer to another physician. Outside of the Gastroenterology Associates! So now I am completely banned from seeking any medical attention from 13 other doctors who practice there!! I find this manner highly unprofessional and the office staff was horrible to me as well! They did not care what I had to say and advised me I would be receiving a letter from her office. I am very disappointed in this practice and I will never recommend them to anyone! No one should be treated unprofessionally like this, like I was just a money maker. Let alone with no respect or sympathy for the loss of a loved one! read more

I would give a 0 if I could. I had an appointment scheduled for 3/21 but the office did not have enough information and said I would need to reschedule. We went through all the information that was requested and rescheduled (not now showed as they claim) my appointment to April 11. I was all set for April 11 but 2 days before my ride fell through (since this was a colonoscopy) and I had to cancel (not no show). I guess the moral of the story is don't cancel and drive yourself. They have since decided I am not a fit for their practice even though the rescheduling was on them. DO NOT USE GASTRO ASSOCIATES OF WNY. This #ThankYouThursday goes out to my new doctor, Dr. John Picano who was able to see me yesterday for the first time to address some stomach issues I've been struggling with for years. He was thoughtful in his approach and asked a lot of good questions to help nail down what my issues could be. He was very thorough in explaining how things work and why the medicines work the way they do. I felt so comfortable in his care and as someone who has white coat syndrome, I was very anxious going into this, so it was really nice to be put at ease. My only complaint about the visit is that my appointment was scheduled for 11:15, which I showed up on time for. It wasn't until 20 minutes later that a nurse took me in for the intial questions, and not until an hour after I'd been there that I actually got to speak to the doctor. As I was coming on my lunch break, I was really hoping this would have moved along faster so I wasn't so late getting back to work. They were busy that day though so its understandable - I just wish someone had checked on me or updated me to let me know they didn't forget about me in the lobby (as most of the staff had left to eat a group Olive Garden lunch while I was still in the waiting room by myself). Overall, a very nice facility and the staff was pleasant for the most part. I was able to get a procedure scheduled a month later which I thought was pretty quick, especially in these trying times. read more

I went to urgent care, was sent to the ER for horrible unexplained abdominal pain. Had a CT scan that showed no problems and was referred to a GI doc. After checking for reviews online I kept searching and I found this practice and Dr. Mian. I was disappointed I had to wait months to get an appointment but I was really happy with the care I received. Dr. Mian comes across as a confident, knowledgeable, and caring doctor. The exam was thorough and I felt heard and seen. I knew I would end up having both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy and was nervous about it because I actually woke up in the middle of the last colonoscopy I had. I told Dr. Mian about it and she took the time to explain how the procedure would go and the steps they took to make sure that sort of thing doesn't happen. As luck would have it, there was a cancellation for the next day. The young man who scheduled me was patient and came across as caring. He took time to fully explain the prep to me and to tell me what would happen the day of my procedures. He stressed that I would be treated well and not have a problem. He made me feel like I was in good hands. The next day, I showed up for the procedure and the receptionist was on top of things. I like people who are efficient and no nonsense and she did her job well. I was called back on time and the attending nurse(s) were excellent. Clear with their explanations, attentive, kind, caring, and patient. Brian in particular was very kind, caring, and patient. His assurances made me feel as though I would have as good an experience as possible considering the nature of the procedures. I could continue gushing about it but I hope you get the idea :-) I got there at 6:30am and was home by about 8:45am. I'm looking forward to my follow up visit and feel like I've found an excellent doctor and practice I can count on to get to the bottom of and solve my issues. I can't recommend them -- and Dr. Mian enough. read more

The doctor at this practice refused to take me as a patient. They said it would be a lateral move. I told them from the beginning that I could not continue with my current provider because of his poor medical decisions. I knew and they knew, it would be a lateral move. That was the whole point. If they are accepting new patients then they should accept a new patient. read more

I've been having intense gastro issues for awhile. Was referred here. Took me a month to even be seen for my initial office visit. Was then scheduled for my endoscopy and colonoscopy over a month after that. Just got a call saying they need to reschedule me to over a month after my initial appt. So I basically have to sit here and wait for over 3 months, in intense pain. No explanation, nothing. I might be better off just going to the ER. I'm sure they would see me right away and we could get this issue resolved. I'm currently looking for a new gastro who can see me sooner, because this is ridiculous. They obviously don't care about their patients. read more

Such excellent care at this facility, and Dr. Picano is absolutely fantastic at explaining everything and very reassuring. Next door to Gastroenterology Associates, is the Endoscopy Center, where I had 2 procedures. Again, excellent, excellent care before, during and after procedures. I was so nervous, but all the staff really are caring and give you all the attention you need. If you have to have a endoscopy procedure, don't hesitate to go here, I'm so glad i did. read more

most unprofessional money grabbers you will ever meet. got a $75 no show bill when i never received a reminder call. this was not a life or death appt-just a follow-up for a routine procedure. when i called to dispute the charge-they lied and said i got a text-no i did not-i save every message i get. they told me to write a letter to dispute the charge. i did that and they somehow didnt get it. i am not sure why this outfit preys on the vulnerable people for $75. find a better way to survive doctors read more

Horrible doctor Shaus is a very rude man. He actually told me looking at my meds was a pain in his ass. I got lost and my phone died I showed up for my 11:30 second appointment at 11:50 he had a cancellation at one and still refused to see me. This was a blessing in disguise because I will find a better gi somewhere else. If you care about yourself or your family go somewhere else you will be better taken care of! read more

On Friday November 18th I went to the emergency room due to severe chest pains, scared I was having a heart attack. After numerous tests, they were able to rule out my heart and instructed me to follow up with my GI doctor "Dr. Pomakov" (Gastroenterology Associates, LLP ) first thing Monday morning. I was able to schedule an appointment for that Monday afternoon, November 21st with Matthew Eich who was a PA. I was extremely weak and in pain when my husband and I arrived and had a hard time walking to the room when called back. I asked to lay on the table rather than sit because I was feeling faint. The assistant who walked us to the room let us know she would be going to get the Dr and let them know what was going on. When Matt entered the room, he had a harsh tone stating, "If I was that sick that I needed to lay down I should have gone to the ER and not to their office" and then instructed me that I needed to sit up. I used every ounce of strength I had to sit up and hold myself up. After both myself and my husband explained what was going on Matt expressed very confidently at least 4 times that it "COULD NOT" be GI related since I had a clean scope 6 months prior. Once again, we explained what was going on and were dismissed by Matt. He checked me over and said because my chest hurt when he touched it, this confirmed it is not GI related. We tried asking more questions and were interrupted with instructions from Matt that he would increase my meds and see me back in 8 weeks, in the meantime see a Cardiologist or take the meds I was originally given by my primary for possible inflamed chest cavity. Matt stood up abruptly and instructed us to follow him, when I wasn't moving fast enough, he came back in the room and instructed us again. My Husband at this point was furious and refused to wait to schedule me a follow up and announced that he was taking me to the ER immediately. Matt who is supposed to be a medical professional smirked and walked away. My husband walked me to the receptionist desk and leaned me against it while he got the car. Luckily the receptionist was kind and understanding, she helped get me to the car safely. The next day the office called to schedule a follow up. When I explained the situation, they were not at all surprised or apologetic, indicating it wasn't the first time this has happened. After 2 more ER visits (one for severe dehydration) it was confirmed that my issues were GI related. I made an appointment with a new GI who managed to see me within 4 days and scheduled me for a double scope within a week. I am so thankful that they listened and didn't dismiss me like Matt Eich. It has been confirmed I have medica issues, (GI related) that need to be fixed and monitored, one's that could have gotten worse had I listened to the original GI office. Not only was I treated as if I were an inconvenience but was spoken to in an unprofessional manner and completely dismissed with an incorrect diagnosis. Would they have taken responsibility if my symptoms and medical issues worsened? If this is how I was treated, how are others being treated? Especially all the elder patients who were in the waiting room. How can a doctor's office allow this treatment and allow someone to work with patients, dismissing and misdiagnosing them so confidently without even listening to the patient or doing any testing? I was very disappointed in the level of care given to me by Matt Eich. He was very dismissive and quick to blame stress, without much examination at all. Gastroenterology Associates, LLP should be embarrassed and very concerned with how he is handling their patients and more concerned with how many additional patients were dismissed or misdiagnosed. read more

Decent experience with this office and Dr. Kaplan. Check in was smooth and painless. With an appointment scheduled for 10:45, I was in to see the doctor by 11am. Doctor had great bedside manner, listened to concerns. Didn't have anything too extensive done so I can't comment on some of the more serious issues, but my experience was great. THE MOST INSENSITIVE, INDIFFERENT, HEARTLESS Billing Office I've ever encountered and the first negative review I've ever written in my life. I missed an appointment due to the death of my MOTHER AND ALSO A PATIENT AT THEIR PRACTICE. I was charged a $50 missed fee. I called to explain that mom was unexpectedly admitted to Millard Suburban the day of her appointment and died 2 weeks later. After submitting a written request for a fee waiver and explaining the circumstances, I recwives a form letter denial in the mail. I then called and spoke with Pam in billing. I explained my mother's sudden decline and death and she coldly asked me why I didn't call to cancel the appointment until 2 weeks later. After I told her we were all in shock over the prognosis of imminent of death and that I was sitting bedside at home hospice waiting for my mother to take her last breath, she told me that they had reviewed my case and the fee still stands--- stone cold attitude , rudest and rehearsed tone. When I reminded her she could at least say she was sorry that ONE OF THEIR PATIENTS (and my mother) died, in the same cold, heartless tone just said "sorry, but......" My husband and I will not be be returning to their practice, and I will take the opportunity to share my opinion with the many people I know in the community and health care field, being a retired health care worker myself. I certainly hope that the next GI practice that we patronize has more compassion and empathy for their patients. read more

There was confusion about the time/day of my appointment. When I showed up, they said that I had missed my appointment and would be charged $50.00 for a missed appointment and have a hold on my account that would prevent any future appointments until this bill was paid. No one-time waiver for the confusion, no policy sent in the mail to me about this $50.00, and they claimed they left a message- which I did not receive. And they said they would be in touch. Weeks later- nothing but a bill! When I called, I was told that I have to write an appeal, and the billing supervisor would decide. What? my response is that I'm talking to billing NOW???? they claimed that is their policy (that no one knows about). And if I changed doctors, I would still be liable for the fee! What??? So it seems that they want this fee no matter what. I wish you luck in trying to get it. read more

They are Rascist and innapropiate petty. Weird. They comment on my appearance. Intentionally pronounce my name in a extremely offensive way. Are unreasonable. Make comments the actual receptionists and I feel like I have to talk to them about whatever neighborhood I reside in as if I am an anomaly. I have tried to run to a different practice with the blessing of my primary and they communicated to the new provider so I wouldn't beable to get away. I am tolerating them. They are not gentle when they touch me. Mary has made comments about exams that our out of scope of practice such as Ob/Gyn insinuated as if she has any idea about my vaginal health. I told her I was in pain for a regular exam in office and then she commented on her touching me and how I most have sort of perceived high pain tolerance that is extremely high when I go for a woman's exam. Which is very personal and has nothing to do with her area of specialty and the doctors office. I can't stand this office. I had an issue with BMG over some foolishness they said. They are still at it. I am a young black woman and I am nice and polite but this has been going on for years. One moment they are all over me but in a fetishized way and uncultured way next they are stereotyping me and then making comments that show I am not stereotypical. Please stay away. read more

I have been a patient there for two years. The doctor that I was being treated by was nice the first few times that I visited. I then became very ill due to complications (ie. I got the flu while on an infused medication with a fever) and the doctor refused to see me for 6 weeks. That was his earliest appointment even after I stated that this instance was an emergency. While waiting for my appointment date to come, I had to be admitted to the hospital due to my MEDICAL EMERGENCY. I informed the doctor's office and they HUNG UP ON ME when I asked which hospital my doctor was affiliated with. My doctor had told the other medical staff that were treating me that he would be coming to check on me, since I went through the trouble of going to a hospital that he was affiliated with. Not only did he not call or show up, I still had to wait until my original scheduled appointment to see him. After this occurrence I wrote a negative review of my experience. I continued to receive treatment from this practice. They more recently dropped me as a patient for missing two appointments. One was from 6/2017 and the second was from 10/2019. They did not inform me that they dropped me as a patient and I had to find out through my infusion center. I then went to the office, crying and hysterical because I needed my medication. They told me to keep it down, that they have other patients there receiving care. They told me that there was nothing that they could do to help me other than make sure that the infusion that was already scheduled would be filled. I then called to ask if I could be seen by another doctor within the practice to be told off by the office manager and hung up on. I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values patient care. They basically dropped me over a bad review and are trying to use other reasons (aka "not being able to keep my appointments" and "its company policy") to stop treating me. This is not how you treat people and remain having a successful business. read more

This medical establishment is great for getting you in for a colonoscopy, endoscopy or a wellness check however if your sick find a new DR. Their not the least bit interested if your sick or in need of any kind of sick visit. Its all about the easy money they can make in their pretty new surgical center and ignore the rest. After being in the hospital for 8 days with a perforated bowel and advised by the hospital to follow up asap with my gastro Dr, I called for appt. this was around the end of March 2019 and was told the earliest I could see a my DR. would be mid May....so they put me in with the AP and she said take Miralax.... so I did...and then I spent 13 more days in the hospital with several drainage tubes in my abdomen. Perhaps you should leave an appt. for emergency visits instead of just mass producing procedures in your center! read more

Do not go here! The customer service staff is rude and horrible to deal with. They put extra things in your chart so that they can bill your insurance differently. I went there for 1 test and I was told that they were doing 2 tests but I was NOT told ahead of time. Also, when I was there, my phone screen got broken and they would not acknowledge it. I had a really great experience here with Dr Niam, she was diligent and thorough unlike my last doctor at Buffalo gastroenterology (dr sohal who thankfully no longer is in the area). I had a pleasant experience with all of the nurses, and felt genuinely taken care of. I was very scared of the anesthesia for the colonoscopy but everybody made me feel as comfortable as possible. Thank you Dr. Niam for all your help, early detection may have saved my life! read more
