I thought this place was great. I made an appointment for a Saturday morning and as soon as I walked in they took me to a room. I was seen immediately which was a nice surprise. I even brought a book with me expecting to be waiting around a while but I didn't need it. After my initial vitals were taken Mike the PA came in a few minutes later. He was friendly and listened to my concerns. I thought everyone here was lovely including the xray tech on. I didn't catch her name but she was super sweet and friendly. I was in and out in under an hour and this was with a chest xray and breathing treatment. Mike sent my prescriptions in immediately and they were ready basically in 10 min at my pharmacy. I would highly recommend coming here and make an appointment if you can. read more

The location at 2980 Sheridan Drive their counter person was rude, and nasty! The text message I received to complete paperwork wouldn't work and froze three times. She got nasty because I couldn't complete it and said I couldn't be seen. I asked if I could just do it now and she rolled her eyes at me! She basically tossed a pad at me! At that point I did let her know she was being rude and she said I couldn't be seen! I'll never recommend that location and they need to get better more qualified counter help. read more

I have never been treated so poorly for simply declining to go to another location for an X-ray after already waiting patiently with my baby. I completely understood the circumstances and that it was not the staff's fault the tech could not come. However, when I declined, NP Casey Renaud became blatantly rude and then questioned why I was being "rude." The interaction felt degrading and unprofessional. As I was leaving, she loudly told the other nurses to make sure they documented that I could not return, which was completely unnecessary and humiliating to hear in front of staff and my baby. No patient should be spoken to or treated that way. I do want to note that the front desk employee could not have been kinder and went out of her way to make sure I was okay afterward, so I truly appreciate her compassion and professionalism. Unfortunately, based on my own experience, I will never return and have filed a complaint with the New York State Office of Professional Medical Conduct regarding the incident. read more

On Monday, November 24th, I went to WellNow for an ear irrigation (a warm water + peroxide flush) because my right ear had started to ache -- usually a sign that wax has built up again. I've been through this many times before because my ear canals are tiny and narrow, and WellNow has always handled it just fine. This visit was the exception. The assistant who worked with me was wonderful. She was friendly, careful, and mindful of my weirdly small ear canals. She even managed to remove some wax without causing discomfort. Then Dr. Marc came in. I explained that my right ear was still throbbing and I didn't feel any relief yet. He attempted to irrigate it again, and I honestly have no idea what technique he was using -- but it felt rushed, sloppy, and almost like he was going in blind. His irrigation made me start coughing uncontrollably, and when he finished, I realized my ear was bleeding. Not a tiny spot -- actually bleeding. When I expressed concern, he brushed it off as "something that can happen" during irrigation. Well, Dr. Marc, I can confidently say this has never happened in all the times I've had this procedure done. I left WellNow in more pain than I arrived with, frustrated, shaken, and frankly irritated at the condescending explanation that followed. It felt like being mansplained to by someone who didn't know what he was doing and lacked any semblance of bedside manner. Update - Saturday, Nov. 28: I ended up going to the ER because the pain kept getting worse. The PA who examined my ear immediately noticed that my ear canal is inflamed, which pretty much confirms that something wasn't right with how that irrigation was done. read more

I was a walk in yesterday in the early afternoon. Ample parking and easy to find. Not having an appointment, I was told an hour or so before I could be see. I understand that and there was a Keurig, a basket of bagged snacks, a slushy machine and an old Pac-Man game to keep you entertained. Just after an hour, I was led into the back where my vitals were taken. 5 minutes later, Rebecca the PA arrived. I thought I had Covid or the flu as my cough and aches weren't letting up over a week. I had a quick chest X-ray and swabbing. Rebecca reported negative results but prescribed medication for what could turn into pneumonia if not treated. Everyone was very nice and seemed genuinely concerned. Rebecca was easy to talk with and I felt at ease with her diagnosis. The waiting area has lots of "bells and whistles " including Pac-Man arcade game, Icee machines, coffee and water dispensers. The people who work here: Heidi, Anna, and Mike Brynildsen, PA are very kind and professional. They took excellent care of my husband while we were there. The only downside for us was the poor accounting records. We were told by the receptionist that my husband had an outstanding balance and would not be seen! I went to the website WellNow.com & did a "Save my Spot", so I'd get an on line appt. It was for 9:55am. I was taken to a room as soon as I got there. The nurse cane in within a few minutes. The Doctor, a few minutes after her & he knew right away what was wrong (I did too). He wrote me 3 scripts & told me to get another otc script. I was out of there by 10:11am. I wanted to like this place. Had an ear infection. Was seen pretty quick, but honestly they could've been quicker for how dead they were though. Told Dr I was going to DC on Tuesday. It was Saturday morning. He puts me on a ten day course of amoxicillin. The bus drive to DC Tuesday literally killed my ear. Ended up in an urgent care in DC on Thursday for pink eye and ear infection that had worsened. (DC urgent care gave me a Z pack-and eye drops.Thank goodness for them. Ear was better in two days) I am struggling to understand why this urgent care bothered with a 10 day course of amoxicillin knowing I was leaving 3 days later to go on a bus trip w my kids school Literally useless. I went to Wellnow at 2980 Sheridan Dr on Monday, September 15th, 2025. This was the worst experience I've had with Wellnow ever. I made an appointment for 12:20 on Monday, expecting to be checked in on time and hopefully taken back to a room within a timely manner. I was not. When I arrived, 2 people in front of me needed to make appointments. Okay, no big deal. I understand it's a busy time, and people are sick. The receptionist asks me if I made an appointment which I respond yes, and she tells me to hang tight while she gets the other people checked in. Again, not a big deal, I understand the circumstances of where I am. The receptionist gets my name and all my information and tells me to have a seat in the waiting room. I was waiting for 35 minutes for someone to take me back to a room. Some people were coming in after me who were getting seen before me, which made me irritated, and I asked, "What's the point of making an appointment if I'm not going to be seen on time?". The woman who came in before me was also becoming irritated that she was waiting a long time. She asked the receptionist when she was going to be seen because there was somewhere she had to be at a certain time. The receptionist told her that "If she's expecting fast and quick service, she's not going to get it here." I was ready to walk out the door right then and there, but they already had my co-pay, and I didn't want to cause trouble to try and get my money back. Finally, around 1 pm, I was called into a room, and I wasn't able to even sit down before the nurse came charging in the room, taking my vitals and asking me why I was here. Maybe I thought the receptionist was wrong, and I was going to be in and out. Still no. I gave a list of all my symptoms and expressed my concerns, and when she's done writing everything down, she says that the doctor will be in shortly. There was nothing short about the wait time. I spent a good 30 minutes in the room waiting for someone to come in. The doctor finally comes in and takes my vitals again and tells me that I need a chest X-ray because he was hearing wheezing. I already knew from my previous history that if there's wheezing, I have pneumonia. After waiting another 30 minutes for the X-ray person to come in, she had me sign a consent form and put a gown on. 15 minutes go by, and she comes back into my room. The X-ray itself was fine, but I was not a fan of her attitude. It seemed like she could be doing something better with her time. The X-ray is finished and I go back into my room. 25 minutes go by, the doctor comes back into my room and tells me the chest X-ray is clear. I asked him what I had if everything looked good. He said I have bronchitis and was going to send some meds to my pharmacy. I was not confident or convinced of his answer, but it was 2:30 by the time he handed me my discharge paper, and I was ready to leave. I went to my primary doctor 2 days after because I was not getting any better, and she told me I had pneumonia and a sinus infection. Luckily, I am feeling better, but I will never return to this Wellnow or possibly another Wellnow again. Very disappointed by the service and the attitudes of the employees. read more

They continuous send me bills for a few visits my children have had within the last few months. We had uploaded their health insurance information on the tablet they provided at check in so there is no reason why their billing department does not submit the claim to our insurance company. Even calling the billing number on the bill is useless. On top of that, the notice says that if you are sent to collections, it could impact your credit. However, NYS law just changed and medical debt is no longer listed on your credit report. If they did their job in the first place, this wouldn't even be a topic of discussion. Seems pretty illegal refusing to submit an insurance claim. read more

I called this location to see if they provided a certain medical test and why I needed it, and the staff told me Yes We Do That. I asked if I could schedule it online (since my doctor's office doesn't do that test) and they said Yes. The next day, I went online to schedule an appointment, and there was a list of services to choose from. The test that I needed wasn't listed, so I selected 'school / sports exam' as an option since that was the closest choice. When I went into the Tonawanda location on the day and time of the appointment (the same one I had initially called), they asked why I was there. I told them the medical test that I needed and they said No Problem. When they asked why I needed it, I told them it was a requirement for another procedure elsewhere and they then told me No We Don't Do That Here. I was charged a co-pay upfront, which they did refund after I was told they didn't do that test (so I was not actually seen by a doctor). This was frustrating, because when I had called to ask if they provided that test, I was upfront about why I needed it. So they never should have told me Yes. The staff was, in person, nice enough about the whole thing. But the procedure I'm having elsewhere is to make my every day life less painful - and a big part of that pain comes from driving a car or even being driven in a car. So I had to suck it up and ignore the pain to drive there & home again, for nothing. read more

I have cold and flu symptoms since Thursday. I went to Kenmore Mercy for temperature check it was 101they had me sit down for a few minutes and it went down to 100 suggested that I be seen in the ER. I went home instead took a shower went back to KMH temp dropped to 97. I came to WellNow because i figured it would be less financially. I went next door to Panera Bread ordered a coffee and called WellNow and gave my med information. Initially it was 40 minutes wait per the online info. However I was taken back almost immediately after completing the medical history and insurance information. I will update my results when they're available. read more

Needed ppd testing for possible exposure to TB and my workplace is useless. The staff here is very helpful, efficient and kind.

I have mostly used this location for covid testing during the pandemic so that's where all of my feedback comes from. The location is easy to find and my earlier visits, I was able to set them up online and check in that way. I'm not sure if things changed or of I was just having a brain lapse the most recent time, but I ended up having to go in person to see about an appointment. Like many places, they are overrun right now so it was over 24hrs before their first open appointment. That said, my experience generally has been that you can get in, though there is always some kind of wait. The staff has always been friendly to me and I appreciate that, especially knowing what they have been dealing with and what they continue to deal with, knowing there's no real end in sight for them. Overall, it's a solid choice. read more

I went to this location early Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend due to a persistent and painful cough that I've had for 2 weeks after being sick with a chest cold. A virtual doctor through my insurance suggested I go to get an extra done of my chest. When I got there they were naturally busy, being a holiday weekend. But I had an appointment and I was called back only 20 minutes later. The physician's assistant I spoke with was rather rude and she kept cutting me off and not allowing me to explain my complete answers to her questions. She listened to my lungs and she said she felt they were clear and because I had history of asthma over 3 years ago it was probably that and set me on my merry way with an inhaler. After suffering the entire weekend and it only getting worse, I went to my primary care doctor today and they ordered an immediate x-ray of my chest which showed pneumonia. This could have been life-threatening if left untreated. And I could have felt a lot better A lot sooner if they would have just done the X-ray like I asked them to. I've worked in customer service for 15 plus years and I understand what it's like when things get busy. But especially in the medical field, quality of care is vital. Next time it might be better just to wait the 3 hours at the emergency room. read more

Was able to hobble my way to urgent care after having a back injury last night. Instead of clogging up the Emergency room, I decided To go to WellNow. I tried calling ahead to confirm That I could be seen but the "call volume" was too high and I was unable to get through to anyone. When I arrived at WellNow on Sheridan at 7:15PM (they close at 8pm). There were legitimately ZERO patients waiting in the waiting room at all. I was crying and am in 9 out of 10 pain and explained that to the staff. I was told by the front desk staff that they are "at capacity" and could not see me today. I was told all of the urgent cares in the area would tell me the same and That I need to "schedule" an appointment for tomorrow. I scheduled an appointment in the morning for 6:25pm that same day to get a rapid COVID test. I added my license and insurance information and was informed to text when I was there. After I did, I got a call from from a woman at WellNow that asked me what I was scheduled for. After I advised I was here for my scheduled rapid COVID test, she asked me multiple questions that were all centered around why I shouldn't be getting a test. I was playing it safe due to someone close to me recently being with a person that tested positive for multiple hours. She asked if I had direct exposure, which I did not, but I still wanted to be safe as the person I am close to had not been able to get tested yet. She advised that I would not be getting a COVID test from them, even though I had scheduled one. After insisting that I still wanted to get one to be safe, she asked what my insurance was. After stating the company, she said they didn't cover those tests. I then offered to pay out of pocket, to which she replied I wasn't allowed to... She asked if I was exhibiting any symptoms, to which I also replied no, but that I still wanted to be considerate of those around me as you can be COVID positive and still asymptomatic. Again, she advised they would not be testing me. I repeatedly insisted I would still like to get tested, but she kept refusing to do so. Absolutely horrible experience, and now it is so late in the day that I am unable to get a test anywhere else. read more

Came in on a Saturday after playing a sports game locally with a hurt player. They got us in really quickly and treated us with compassion and were quite pleasant. We ended up seeing an NP which was perfectly fine with us. Overall a good experience. X-ray machine on site. Unfortunately, the X-ray read seems to have been not quite accurate on follow-up with the injury with other providers (like an orthopedic sports med doc) but I'm guessing they didn't have a radiologist reading the image (especially with how quickly they got us out of there). I hope they have a radiologist read all of them eventually and it would be nice if they gave us a follow up call with the correct read but in any case, grateful for the images, the brace they provided, and the compassionate, efficient care, knowing a final diagnosis and definitive treatment plan would be up to a sports med doc later anyways. read more

I was a walk in patient visiting for a DOT physical. The second I walked in they asked my name, asked me to have a seat and told me it would be a minute or two. The receptionist called me up within a couple moments and started to take my information. The woman Taking care of me told me it was her second day and was still learning and asked me to bear with her, she has not done a DOT physical intake before. She was very efficient and what she didn't know the other receptionist was quick to help her. I was handed the paperwork and asked to fill it out while waiting. Which they told me could be awhile. They called quite a few people ahead of me BUT got to me for triage before I finished the paperwork. While in triage there was another new girl training working with one of the nurses. No matter, again they were efficient and quick while training the new girl. I was told to return to return to the waiting area and continue to fill out my paperwork and turn it in when complete. I completed the paperwork within a couple minutes and turned it in. Realizing I forgot my glasses in my vehicle, which I needed for the eye test, I told the receptionist I needed to run to my vehicle to retrieve them and would be right back. While retrieving my glasses, I received an important phone call from my daughter which lasted for about 5 minutes and delayed me getting back right away. When I returned, I was informed I had missed my name being called and to have a seat, that the doctor who was to do my physical would re-call me when she could. I was called back not even 10 minutes later. The nurse did the rest of my tests needed, which were not able to completed in triage and then placed in one of the examining rooms. The examining rooms where very nice and clean and also had a television with remote in the room too help pass time if you have a long wait. I did not. The doctor came in, introduced herself and began the physical. She was very thorough asking the numerous question involved with a DOT physical, but again was quick and efficient. She was also very quick and efficient while performing the physical explaining each and every step necessary to complete and pass the physical. I have been working with my company for twenty years and have been through NUMEROUS physicals. This by far was my best experience yet and would highly recommend anyone needing a DOT physical, rather it your first or twentieth to get it done here. My overall experience was outstanding! The doctor and staff were knowledgeable, especially while training the new girls, and very friendly. Every question I asked was answered and even after numerous physicals I've been through, I learned much more. DO NOT LISTEN TO ALL THE COMPLAINERS!! I was in and out very quickly all things considered. I will return to this WellNow any time it is deemed to be necessary without hesitation. read more

Nothing, so I called and was told my appt was moved to 2. I asked if they would text so I didn't waste another trip. Diane said yes they would. After not hearing from them, I called and was told to come down. I arrived and sent a text, nothing! So I called, no answer! Finally I stood in the window waving , I was ignored. Very clean and comfortable environment. They have a pac man machine in the waiting area, tv, and a Keurig with coffee and tea available. I was put right into a room, nurse came check vitals and doc came in all very quickly! I injured my foot the other night so they gave me an X-ray right on the spot. My 86 year old husband fell in the shower and his doctor told me to take him to urgent care. It was our first time out since March 13 so we weren't familiar with the protocols. We both had masks on. Leaving my husband outside, I stepped inside the door to ask a question. I was at least 15-20 feet from the desk. The young girl at the desk barked at me "can you not read the sign ma'am". Then continued on with her obviously personal phone call. I had tried to phone the desk but got no answer. I immediately walked out and will never return there again. Came in this morning and literally have nothing good to say. I ended up leaving and getting an appointment at my drs office. To start, the door wouldn't open and someone had to manually slide me in. Then there was a girl at the front desk who seemed to be having an extremely vocal issue with a woman's insurance. She rolled her eyes, said "fuck" under her breath and stormed out of the building, manually opening the door of course. As advised, I texted 'HERE" when I arrived in the parking lot. A few minutes later I received a call inquiring about my medical issue, and to enter. I was immediately taken to examining room. First saw nurse, then PA came in; nurse took care of the ear issue immediately (wax buildup).... within 15 minutes of entering. PA /Dr. checked it after....Was thrilled to be able to here again.... The medical providers are fine but they overcharge for services and communicating with the billing department is like pulling teeth. I was seen for two minutes, they decided they weren't able to provide treatment, and I was referred to a specialist. They billed my insurance company $300 for that visit. I don't expect to not have to pay anything, but that amount is ludicrous. The billing department keeps referring me to my insurance company, but my issue is with how much was billed to my insurance by WellNow and not how my insurance adjusted the price. I will not be using WellNow Urgent Care anymore and neither will my family. read more
