I would 100% recommend this class to anyone beginners to advanced it's such a great time. A great date night idea as well. So we started the night with some red sangria and ended with white sangria; as for the menu for the night it was tapas, seafood paella and sangria. We had octopus with chimichurri (I'm a very picky eater and I usually don't eat seafood and omg it was SPECTACULAR). We also had garlic grilled lamb chops with mint edamame hummus salad, Brussels sprout salad , chicken kabobs with potato salad, seafood paella, bacon wrapped shrimp everything was delicious. Chef David was amazing he helped us with anything we needed from how to chop onions to cutting lamb chops to cooking octopus. I was astonished after we finished cooking everything we all sat together and ate and talked it was nice like a family dinner (it was a class of about 12 of us we all cooked something different so at the end we all sat down to try everything we all made together). Almost forgot! dessert was given at the end we didn't make it but was so delicious caramel, chocolate, and coffee all mixed just look at the picture. I don't know the name of it sorry. They not only do adult classes, but kids classes, and birthday parties and private parties. Every class is different just go to their website and see what classes they are preparing each day is different. I'll post some pictures so you guys can see

Amber Antonelli honed her skills in the best California kitchens, served as a concierge chef to the stars and even created her own Häagen-Dazs flavor: Toasted Coconut Sesame Brittle. Miami was definitely missing an Amber Antonelli (the wonderful chef)!! If you're looking to escape your every day life in a home that has the best energy, relaxing ambiance, and AMAZING fresh food, definitely try out one of her classes. I swear I don't even feel like I'm in Miami when I am at her house (where the classes are held). From the moment you walk in through the door, you are greeted as if you have been friends forever. Amber definitely has the personality to teach these classes - she makes you feel comfortable, very personable, and she's EXTREMELY knowledgeable about everything she makes and all the ingredients she uses. She will take the time to explain why she is using a specific ingredient and will list the health benefits (i.e. coconut oil). Everyone is given the menu for the evening along with the recipes to every dish & the upcoming class schedule. You are also provided a pen to write down any notes and/or tips that will help you out when making the dish on your own. With around 10 people per class, the conversation flows very well & you learn so much from your new friends! Some of my favorite classes are the "Healthy Mexicana Flair, Ole!" and both "Thai Food Demystified" and "Thai 2" but she has classes that fit any palette: Italian, Vegan & Gluten Free, Kids Classes, Weeknight Meals, Vitamix Classes, the list goes on!! I would highly recommend The Naked Bite to both beginners (those who don't know how to cook at all) and experienced chefs. This is usually the range of people that surround the table at the classes & it's definitely nice to see both extremes learning so much from Amber. If you're not interested in the cooking classes but are in need of a "stay-cation", she has an underground dinner club where everything about the dinner is kept a secret until the day before! If that's not your thing and you just want to eat healthy, amazing food, look into her catering! Whatever you choose, I promise that any experience at The Naked Bite will be an unforgettable one. Definitely five stars!

I jumped on the online schedule and picked the sunday class "a chicken in every pot" instructed by Chef Robin. When we got to the class 2 others were supposed to join but never showed. Therefore my friend and I had an unexpected private class! Chicken. Might sound boring right? Well can you actually roast a whole chicken with it getting beautifully brown and stay juicy? tie a chicken? cook a crispy and flavorful chicken provencal or saltimboca with an amazing sauce that I wanted to stick a straw in and drink? We learned all that and some. We learned great tricks on how to do the above items which may seem basic but with tips to truly take your cooking to the next level. Actual chef secrets that you can use in everyday life! While most of the fun was learning and cooking we also got to taste our dishes. The dishes blew my mind with how good they were. It was a lot of food since we made three dishes so chef robin was kind enough to give us containers to take most of it home. This was such a fun and educational foodie time. Perfect for date night, girls night, team building, or really just anyone who loves to learn, cook and eat. Thanks Chef Robin for a great class! And thanks Yelp Miami for the opportunity to sharpen my kitchen skills!

I'm not much of a cook so I did exactly as I was told to the best of my ability. We chopped veggies, made/rolled dough, added and combined ingredients all in the right sequence. In the beginning, I was so afraid to make a mistake that at times I may have been too slow but eventually I got the hang of it. Thanks to Ana and Robin we were able to make dinner and dessert in a very efficient and timely manner. We first prepared dessert, the Tarte Tentacion, so that we could put in the oven while we prepared dinner. The crust was probably the hardest thing to make here. We had to sift together all of the dry ingredients and pulse it in the food processor. Then add butter and pulse it again until the butter flakes formed pea-size pieces. Then add ice water to just hold it together. We then took this out and smeared it across a board and formed a mound of dough. We rolled this dough until it was the size of the circular pan and this dough eventually baked as the bottom crust once we turned it over out of the pan. This crust tasted amazing. Can't believe we made that ourselves. After dessert started to bake, we prepared the Ropa Vieja and Calabaza con Mojo at the same time. We combined a lot of spices and chopped a lot of veggies in a timely manner. Ana advised on how and when to heat all of the ingredients and when to combine them properly with the shredded beef. The food came out really fresh and tasted great. Nothing was too oily or salty. It was just right. Our dinner was served with white wine, a nice pairing. My Cuban +1 noted that this was the best Calabaza he's ever had and I promised not to tell his abuela. IN THE KITCHEN with Norman Van Aken is a culinary school and is for enthusiasts of all levels. Classes are led by guest teachers, famed chefs, food artisans, etc. from America and abroad. They are inspired by a passion for food while not being defined by boundaries. This location has 3 businesses: cooking classes, restaurant, and rooftop lounge. Thank you Ana and Robin for showing us how to cook at IN THE KITCHEN and a great big thanks as always to Diandra and Yelp Miami for these amazing experiences.

We…read moreexpected this to be an interactive cooking class, meaning we ourselves would be dicing and sauteing away but that was not the case. Instead, the cooking station is surrounded by a tall counter and bar stools and the group simply watches Claudio cook. Our group had about 12 people, all very friendly 20 and 30 somethings. Claudio started off explaining about different cooking and language classes the institute offers. We then indulged in some prosecco and antipasti (prosciutto di parma, olives stuffed with anchovies and chunks of parmigiana cheese). The first course was gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream sauce, accompanied by an Italian red zinfandel. It was simply boiled gnocchi out of a box and Gorgonzola slowly melted in heavy cream. Several people in our group were kitchen novices but if you are an intermediate cook you are well beyond this step. It could have been spruced up with some crisped pancetta or toasted pine nuts. The second course was rigatoni with a simple bolognese sauce. This dish was delicious and made me rethink my tomato base for my own marinara sauce. Claudio used Pomi tomato puree right out of a carton and it had just the right texture and sugar already added to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes. I will look for this stuff at Publix. For dessert, Claudio served a Marsala dessert wine and a chocolate hazelnut treat he brought from Italy, as well as some store bought panettone. The chocolate treat was somewhere between a block of chocolate and a really dense brownie. All in all, we had a fun afternoon and met some nice people. If you're expecting to improve your culinary skills, you will be disappointed.
