I discovered Gate this past semester and am so happy I did! Located right by my apartment, it is super convenient. Gate is a fairly new gas station and is really nice. The inside is always kept clean and the staff is super nice. Seriously, their staff is super friendly. There have been multiple occasions where they have gone out of their way to help me. Gate's selection of snacks is top notch as well. I find that they carry a lot more options than Wawa down the road. Along with their greater selection of snacks, they offer a lot more hot or made-to-order options as well. They are always restocking things too, so you will most likely find what you are looking for. While I don't own a car in Gainesville, this is a gas station and has pumps, not just food! Haven't used the bathrooms, but I'd guess they are clean. One of the main reasons I've started coming here more often (aside from their awesome food selection) is their frozen yogurt. This particular Gate offers frozen yogurt. You don't pay by the weight either. They offer small cups for customers to fill up with as much froyo they can fit. There are about 6 flavors to choose from, although 2 of them haven't been available when I've come. Along with the frozen yogurt, there is a toppings bar. While the toppings selection isn't huge, it is sufficient and provides most of what you would need. Toppings include a small variety of chocolate candies, cookies, sour gummies, cereals, boba, and drizzles. I will also note the toppings bar has always been very clean each time I've visited. The frozen yogurt is about $5 for a cup. All the cups are the same size. I absolutely love coming in here to get froyo as there isn't any close to campus. Some other things I thoroughly enjoy from Gate are their food options. My favorite being their cookies, which come in a pack of two. The cookies are baked fresh daily and taste amazing. I've never had a gas station cookie that wowed me this much. I highly recommend the chocolate chip, but the white chocolate macadamia is good too. Sometimes if they are out a particular flavor, you can ask the desk and the kitchen might be able to help you out! On one occasion I was able to get my hands on freshly baked chocolate chip cookies just by asking if anymore were available. This is also an example of how great their staff is!! This is a lengthy review for a gas station, but I love Gate! They offer an awesome selection of snacks and drinks you cannot find at Wawa or Publix. They even have pints of BlueBell ice cream available. While the frozen yogurt is undoubtedly one of the reasons I come here. I would stop by to enjoy their cookies ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. Tha k God places lole this are atill open, and this gas station is brand new! Driving onto off-white concrete with no cracks, I see gas pumps that look more like slot machines or ATMs. Everything shones, and everything is brand new. The gloved cashier is nice and takes my money for the drink. I snap pics all over and another worker asks me why. I tell him it is for Yelp and he smiles and says that he hopes it makes more customers come in. I told him that that's the idea, and walked back out to my car. I watxhed them build this place from scratch, and it is rlas roomy as it is impressive. Drinks, donuts, coffee, frozen yogurt, and more! Check this place out while it is still sparkling! Its a convenience store. They sell beer and other stuff to college students. Lots of beer from the wall of it near the front window. They sell gas. Its expensive. Here's why I pop in occasionally: They have really great ice. Yeah, I know. There is ice in my KitchenAid side by side... but even that 3K fridge makes the same air filled ice as any other fridge. Gate has clear ice, which I value when I need one cube to go with my Balvenie single malt. Yep. Good ice. Thats what makes this place awesome. read more

Not sure why its called "Gate Food Post". A more appropriate label for Yelp would be "Gate Gas Station" or "Gate Gas Station & Convenience Store".....but I digress. I stop here every weekday morning for my coffee and they have the best coffee in town. All the sugars, milks/creamers, stirrers, and lids are neatly organized in a coffee condiment station of sorts. And the station is CLEAN at all times!! They have 10-12 pots ready to go during the morning hours and I can tell they go through them pretty fast because they are always brewing more. What sets their coffee apart from other gas stations in the area is the fact that they have a variety of coffees and a variety of milks/creamers. And the best part about the milk/creamers is that they are not in those annoying 1/2 ounce disposable cups. They come in actual pourers so you don't have to waste a lot of time opening a million packets if you like a lot of milk/creamer like I do. And lastly their staff is super friendly. This reciew is strictly based on my experiences at the pump. Gate on 13th and 5th consistently has the cheapest gas in the university area. Once every two weeks or so will purposefully drive out to this area so j may take advantage of their pricing. Recently it has been as high as 7 cents cheaper than other stores in town. You would think that with lower prices you would wait longer, however, my wait times have been under 3 minutes if all four pumps are full. read more
