That was painful. Waited 20 min for my hoagie when there was not many people in there. Received my hoagie, uncut, parchment paper shoved in it, and loaded with cheese. Thank goodness the parchment paper was mashed in there and compelled me to investigate the rest of the sandwich, because I am very sensitive to cheese. read more

This is a great location for Wawa with plenty of options. Located right on University, it is open late and super convenient for later nights. When just about everything else is closed, Wawa is always a reliable option. The inside is kept pretty clean and they usually have what I am looking for. Whether that be drinks, prepared foods, snacks, or made to order food, Wawa generally has it. The made to order food is always really good and hits the spot. The ordering system is very simple. You order at the kiosk/tablet, receive and a receipt and order number, then pay for the order at the cashier station. Make sure you hold onto your receipt because it is needed when they call your order number over the intercom. The staff is usually pretty on top of things and do not mess up orders. They keep up with the hectic crowds of college students very well. Overall, this is a great Wawa location and it is very convenient. It was a late night, and Publix was closed. I wasn't sure if they had closed it down, and I was glad to see they didn't. There was a cop car outside and and a cop inside the place. It was clean and smelled great. Som people were waiting on hot food they ordered, but I just wanted chips and drink! This is a step up from old school convenient stores. read more

Waited for order 451 and they gave me my mac n cheese after 5 minutes, I asked about the shake and they told me to wait. 25 minutes later I asked where the rest of it was. They said they had called my order already. Confused I asked what to do. The girl behind the counter was rude and disrespectful saying she threw my food away and wasn't making another. I think the workers need to be paid more or have better staffing because watching them struggle and get frustrated over a milkshake made me sad. God is good all the time. Wawa has certainly expanded its presence throughout Florida and that is certainly good news for Floridians, but for Floridians who relocated here from eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, it was bringing a piece of home down here to the Sunshine State. This particular location is across from the college, which is a fortunate thing for the students and faculty of the University yes. Wawa is so much more than a simple gas station. Yes, it features a multitude of gas pumps offering competitive prices and I applaud them for offering air for your tires from an air pump that does not require a payment. Should be common sense, but most gas stations have decided that they can generate a few more dollars by charging people to put air in their tires. Wawa goes above and beyond in customer service by letting people get air without a surcharge. But for me and I would hazard a guess that endears Wawa to most of us is the food that they offer, mostly their subs (what they call hoagies due to their original locations). These subs, er, hoagies are freshly made 24/7 and many, myself included, have ended an evening festivities at a Wawa grabbing an end of the night snack in the form of one of their subs, hoagies, or whatever you want to call them. They have both hot and cold sub/hoagie things, as well as other foods like breakfast sandwiches, bagels, bowls, etc. I also have always liked their pretzels, available at the cash registers. Oh, speaking of their food, keep an eye out for Hoagiefest, where they offer any sub st a discounted price. Truly a good deal. So, yes, I recommend Wawa. I would almost climb a mountain to scream its praises for the four winds to carry to the far planets of this world (perhaps even going so far as to reach my home state of New Jersey). I am so happy that the Wawa opened across the street from the University of Florida on University Ave. I have been here now several times for breakfast and lunch and I think I will be here many more times. This Wawa is not like any Wawa I have been to before because their is not a gas station attached to this location. This is a stand alone location that just is the store part and a huge fresh foods section. When you walk in the front doors or the back doors you immediately see the cash registers. I like that they have registers in the front and the back of the store. They have a giant food prep area. Recently I have gotten their breakfast burritos and today I got their chicken parm sandwich. When you arrive they have about 6 or 7 self-service kiosks and you can order your food on these. You can not only order, but customize what you want. You can also order hot and cold beverages and milk shakes on here. They have to Coca Cola free style machines where you can get any size fountain drink for .79 cents. They also have currently $2 iced coffee which is really awesome. Today I got the sugar free salted caramel with almond milk and it was delicious. I did try their pumpkin spice and it was good but super strong in taste. Next they have a giant beer cooler. I am sure being across the street from the University they will do pretty good beer sales. They have other coolers where you can get water, juice, bottled and canned sodas, and other drinks you would fine at any other gas station. Some of the nice things about this location is the fresh foods section where you can get pre-made wraps, salads and many other items. This is really cool. I am so excited to have a Wawa within walking distance to UF. I highly recommend this location and look forward to visiting time and time again! read more

I've been to a lot of Wawas and I have never been to one under such poor management. You pay for the food before you receive it and when you are given the wrong order the manager tells you to call the corporate number in order to resolve the issue. The corporate number did resolve the issue and issued a gift card to replace the order after 30 minutes of waiting on hold while standing in the Wawa. The lady who was the manager really ruined the experience and caused problems where she could have simply had the order remade correctly. Her attitude was poor and combative as soon as she entered the conversation that up to that point was just me explaining the problem and the other employees not sure what needed to be done to rectify it. read more

I love how convenient this wawa is, right across the street from UF campus. I've heard good things about the frozen drinks here so I decided to try one myself but sadly it did not live up to my expectations. I love this wawa -- so conveniently located with very fast service, especially considered how packed it can get at late hours. I love the breakfast sandwiches and coffee. They have so many options to choose from and all very reasonably priced. If you join their rewards program, you can also get great deals and free coffee on certain days. This particular location is definitely better for walking to (there is little parking and it's very difficult to get in and out of). Also, don't be fooled, this Wawa doesn't have gas! read more

W. Univ. Ave.: The sandwiches and salads taste great, but I go for lunch about twice a week, and too often, an ingredient I request is left off. Yesterday it was the cheese I wanted on my salad. A few days ago, no mustard that I requested for my sandwich. Two weeks ago, I mysteriously got pimento on an otherwise "correct" sandwich. Happens too often, which means I'm not the only one it's happening to. If you go to this location and order food, I recommend checking it before you leave to make sure it is as you requested. Okay I am a guy that believes in second chances but certainly won't go back a third time. My first order two weeks ago was at the WAWA on 23rd and 13th the breakfast sandwich was incredibly dry and for the most part tasteless, wife had the same issue. I ordered some Southwest breakfast sandwich on sour dough she had the breakfast burrito both were pretty bad. Today I stopped into the WAWA on E University again here in Gainesville ordered a Ham Egg and Cheese on white toast got back to office there was no ham and the bread boarded on stale. I gave them a two because the stores are very clean, the staff mehh while not bitter certainly not welcoming and they get a thumbs up for some pretty decent grab n go coffee. Will I get coffee there again? Sure! Food items not likely. read more
