Whadd'ya know?…read more Omar cleaned my 152 year old wood burning chimneys twice in addition to being contracted to install a stainless steel liner (something I was VERY reluctant to do). The liner took 3-4 days, cost just under $5k but gives my old old chimney a whole new life. They clean in the fall and do repairs in the spring. They put up a zip wall around the fireplace, covered all the furniture, wore shoe covers and a mask when in the house, and cleaned up everything. The liner itself is so tiny compared to the old chimney width but I think that's how it supposed to be. It just looks so funny now. I have peace of mind that I won't have to deal with a chimney fire, however, so that's worth something.

Spire stopped by to check on a possible gas leak and discovered our water heater wasn't venting…read morecombustion gases properly into the flue pipe shared with our HVAC. We called Hoffman Bro's first because they deal with both, and they charged us ~$300 to tell us the same thing as Spire and suggest we call a chimney sweep to check the flue pipe for blockages. We couldn't find a chimney sweep that either could be booked within the month to inspect and give us an estimate, and if they could be booked in that time frame they didn't understand the problem we described and wanted us to fork over hundreds to inspect and sweep our flue. Luckily, an acquantance gave us Crestside Ballwin's number. The receptionist called Dave over to learn about the problem and within a minute he figured that the roofers we had over a few weeks ago probably botched the install of the new flue pipe cap. They had a tech come over two hours after I called and sure enough that was the problem. Anyhow, these guys were solid for us, I'm super thankful we found them.

After seeing all the positive reviews, we decided to still go with them and I'm glad we did! Quality workmanship, professional and courteous crew, work completed in the estimated time, took extra care to minimize dust, cleaned up after themselves daily. We had tuckpointing done on both our bricks and the larger masonry stones around the foundation, with 2 sides of the house needing solid tuckpointing and the other 2 needing spot tuckpointing. We also had KCB do new waterproofing/sealant around the expansion joints, had the wall to the walkout basement stairwell demolished and restacked, and had the deteriorating concrete slab under the sunroom replaced. The crew did a great job on all of it and KCB was even able to set up the supports to the sunroom while they worked so that I didn't have to hire a second company to do that portion. Very happy with all the work done and the price was outstanding. Will be using KCB again for any future tuckpointing needs.
