Very convenient online ordering. The order was available and ready really fast. The owner and the other store personnel were very kind.

Ordered online for pickup. Called me to advise an item I had ordered was not in stock [only mentioning 1 item]. The item I ordered included both a bottle of bourdon and 2 premium glasses. They offered the same bottle but no glasses (obviously a less expense item) for the same price I already prepaid with my credit card. I countered with an item that was also on my ordert that was slightly more expensive. They said no. I canceled my order and created a new order (as was discussed with a store representative]. As I was picking up my order at the store, I asked if they would get it ready shortly after I placed my revised order online. After roughly 10 minutes I called the store as there online portal was still showing the store has yet to recieve my order. They informed me they had recieved my revised order shortly after it was placed. At this tiem I was informed that another item was not in stiock - this item was on the original order. I was not informed on the first call and only when I called to check the status of my revised order was I informed another item was not in stock. Had to cancel this order as well. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NOT WANTING TO DO WHATS BEST FOR THE CUSTOMER. OKAY FOR ME TO PURCHASE SOMETHING OF LESSER VALUE FOR THE SAME PRICE, BUT THEY WERE UNWILLING TO TO DO THE SAME. read more

There's a reason Gateway Liquor is 5 stars all the way! 1 = It's freaking HUGE!! but not in that overwhelming huge way... 2 = It's well laid out with digital price tags and great signage to direct you. 3 = Friendly staff 4 = An EPIC selection of beer lines their wall coolers! Both local delights and some obscure brews I didn't think I would ever get to try!! 5 = The location is actually not too bad for those of us that work in town and live out east. Just a hop skip and a jump off the highway! I think the only improvement I would suggest is some sort of frequent buyer program. Like a spend x amount and get x off next purchase. I wish I could give this store a zero. I walked in in the middle of the day, wanting to buy a bottle of water as I was at the vet next door and was super thirsty. i brought the bottle to the cash and the guy serving me looked at it then said "I'm not selling you this. I'm not going to make my money back" (whatever that means?) Why have water bottles if you don't don't want to sell them??? Put a sign up if you have a minimum spending requirement. its the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced at a store. Definitely won't be going back. read more

Went to Gateway Liqour from DIA, wanted to pick up some vodka and my wife needed to use the restroom. Price was good place was clean. Was told no public restroom! "Too many people have torn it up, stole things, it's too much trouble. However 5 Guys at the end of the parking lot has a public restroom!" What a thing to do to 5 Guys! Beware when ordering online for pick-up. Under no circumstances should you be giving your credit card to anyone when you arrive to pick-up an order, just your ID. Unfortunately this was a very bad experience, which involved a series of flubs and then an attempt to charge our credit card twice (it was a significant purchase). We placed an order on a Saturday afternoon via their website for pick-up. They use a 3rd party service to process payments. Customers should receive a confirmation email when the store acknowledges receipt of their order. After 2 hours, we never received an email, so we had to call the store. The woman who answered never asked for our name or order number - she simply assumed we were a different customer and said their order had been canceled. We explained that she was referring to a different order than ours. She finally checked and found our order; said she would call us when it was ready. A man identifying himself as the store owner called us later and said the order was ready and that we needed to bring our credit card. We asked why, since we had paid online. He said it was "just a hold" and that they need to charge the card at the store. This is untrue. The SERVICE holds the card payment and then ensures the card is charged. You are only required to bring your ID. Under no circumstances should you be providing your credit card at the store. The man also said we had to go inside to pick-up the order; they don't do curbside. Okay. My husband asked if the employees are wearing masks and we were vigorously assured they do. This is untrue. Only one employee was wearing a mask when we arrived. My husband had to ask the store owner to put his on. The owner then tried to obtain our credit card, which we had already confirmed with our credit card company as being charged. Yes, we checked with our credit card company before going to the store because we were (justifiably) concerned. We had to wait while this guy called the vendor to confirm payment. Regardless, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR CREDIT CARD. The SERVICE ensures payment on behalf of the store. read more

Finally, a decent liquor store in my neighborhood! Great selection and super helpful staff make this place a pleasure to visit. I especially like the make your own six pack and the tastings on the weekends. No matter how busy they are, there is always someone available to answer questions. Nice store and fine variety. Is it bigger than Chambers Wine? You would have to measure but I wouldn't say so. As far as pricing I found microbrews to be somewhat higher than Chambers depending on the ones I normally buy. At Gateway they were running 9.49 to 11.49, at Chambers 7.99 to 10.99 for 6 packs. Twelve packs Sierra Nevada's about the same. The few bourbon prices I examined were about the same except for sale items. The shopping carts were too small for my taste, I usually buy twelve packs, so I bought less for today's visit. Since we are quite a bit closer drive to Chambers not worth the travel distance, plus we earn credit points for every $500 at Chambers. read more

Just flew in from Portland OR. and was in need of a bottle after a long flight. I saw the huge Gateway liquor store, stopped in asked for a traveler from counter and the staff immediately rushed across the store to retrieve it off the shelf. I was tired and did not want to or have to wander aimlessly around trying to locate my brand. Thank you staff - EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE along with great price. This is the final and most important destination for any social or private event. The inventory is ever abundant and colourful for any shopping experience. The most impressive aspect of this store is the brilliant customer service from the outstanding staff. So I waited a day before writing this review based on a bad experience I had. Overall, this place has a nice selection of good beer, wine, and spirits. It's close to where I live and pretty much my go-to. Prices are a slight bit higher than some other places in the area, but the selection and convenience brings me here more often. The guy that owns it is a nice dude and I've always had good interactions with him, who I assume is his wife, and the rest of the staff...until yesterday. Was in to get a specific beer my girlfriend requested. Noticed they had requested beer in 12 pack cans, however she won't touch a can (I don't get it!). I simply asked the fellow behind the counter if I could get the 12 pack price on 2 sixes of bottles, to which I was given an emphatic "NO" in a tone that implied I must be an idiot. So I had to ask why that would be a problem as other places have taken care of me before like that. I didn't think it was an unreasonable question. He replied with "because it's not a flea market or barter system". Wow. Ok, cool. What a dick! Ended up buying the sixer, but the more I thought about it the next few minutes, I decided they could keep it and returned my merchandise. Told him I'd try the flea market for a cheaper price. No idea if he got it. Went down the street to the mom and pop place and paid $1 less. I think I'll branch out and try some other places. I don't know if it was the owner or manager that i dealt with but he was Sooo helpful with 1 on 1 service and he shared his knowledge with us and said he will stock a couple of items just for us. I would expect to pay more for this type of service. Actually he is quite a bit cheaper then anyone else in the neighborhood. Let me start by saying it takes something of significant importance for me to take the time out of my day to write a review, and Gateway liquor meets this extreme level of high importance. Having grown up in Denver and lived in all different areas of the metro area I have frequented many liquor stores of this size and have never experienced anything quite like Gateway. The facility as a whole is flush with attention to detail, exceptional price points, and most importantly attention to selection. In fact, I would go so far to say that Gateway has the best section of spirits and craft beer in Colorado. An impeccable selection only goes so far, it's the customer service at Gateway is what truly makes Gateway the #1 in my book! During my visit I spoke with the owner and the floor manager both of which had an outstanding knowledge of the selection, especially considering the size of the selection. Some notable features that had my eye brows to my hairline and jaw to the floor was "The Bomber Room" and what I personally like to call a "wall of vodka". The Bomber Room is the coolest walk in cooler in Denver decked out with more craft brews than you have time to look at. My spirit of choice is vodka, and Gateway's selection and presentation could be considered the 8th wonder of the world. An entire wall of the 12,000 Sq/Ft facility is dedicated to my favorite spirit and with more options to choose from than I even believed to exist. So all that being said I would give Gateway liquor 6 out of 5 stars and would recommend to anyone! read more
