The magazine covers a wide variety of topics such as dining, culture, and lifestyle all with well written commentaries. Some of the other notable things are the events and best of lists, which make it convenient to keep track of all those places you need to check out. If you are looking to find out what is hip and happening in Saint Louis, this magazine will has you covered. Overall this is a great magazine that promotes and highlights everything that Saint Louis has to offer.

It's pretty good, but there are just some issues that are very commercialized. It's very good in letting readers know what is new, hip, and happening, and very informative on what is current in regards to the St. Louis scene. However, some of the issues are very commercialized: such as the physician issue and the lawyer issue. The top people in the field are picked by their peers so there is a little of the "old-boy networking" schmoozing thing going on. They don't hide that though. What bothers me more is the huge advertising section that follows it. The magazine itself is very interesting, and I think promotes St. Louis very well.

It is a nice-looking magazine with a modern design and glossy pages. About half of the magazine is "society pages" of some kind--pictures of "It" people at parties, that kind of thing. Which is fine, but not that interesting unless you are in that circle of people. The rest of the magazine is based on style, fashion, weddings and what is current. The cover is usually a "celebrity" that is from St. Louis or is somehow prominent in the St. Louis area. They have had some decent covers, like Jim Edmonds. I have to be honest and say I don't recognize most of the people featured, but it's nice that they keep the focus on St. Louis.

Political columns tend to lean towards "progressive" and "liberal" which I'm not objecting to, just pointing it out. You'll find articles about the local arts and entertainment scene including which performers are coming to town and which venues have new exhibits. As well, which restaurants are offering interesting takes and meals with some quite detailed reviews. I enjoyed reading up and figuring out where I'd be heading for my next fabulous meal. Or even better, seeing if the RFT reviewer agreed with my own review! The newspaper is free and you'll find display copies here and there throughout town. I don't remember how it got started, but to some, there might have been a brouhaha (I remember reading a snarky article), and there were lots of questions over whether St. Louis could sustain a second food magazine (the first one being Sauce). I'm glad to say that there is plenty of room for both! This is really a 4.5 star review, but as usual, I don't round up. I love Feast in that it's free, and I think it does a better job with publication and availability. I like the glossy print over the newspaper print of Sauce's, but hey, when it comes down to it, I devour both. And that's how it should be. Feast gets two thumbs up because they are really available in a lot of places...I like how I can pick up a copy at my local Schnuck's and if they run out, they have the current issue online. It's always harder for me to find Sauce for some reason, and they haven't used the social marketing advantage as well as Feast has. I think both magazines have great content, and I enjoy how Feast continually updates its feeds and gets involved with the community. Sometimes though, I feel that it's a close-knit community...of who knows whom at their events...so that's where the 1/2 star deduction comes from.

I have "unsubscribed" from every individual email I've received. I've emailed them. I've communicated through their web form. I'M STILL GETTING EMAILS LITERALLY EVERY DAY. I needed the best from a local source, so I headed over to, The Firecracker Press. The variety of note with STL themes were nice. However, I found two cards that were designed as a Thank-you card and they served my purpose very well. I did see other cards that caught my eye and I will return for another occasion. Then to my surprise, when I got home and reached into my bag. TFP had given me a little thank-you postcard. It entitled me to 10% off on my next web purchase. They're sort of like the paper version of STL-Style. Get ready to spend some money because the have prints of all shapes, sizes, and kinds. It's the perfect place for gifts and to treat yo self. I have the Tower Grove Park Print and have my eye on their Grand Center one. The colors are gorgeous on it. Everytime I go in here I want something new. Check it out!
