It is "dogs welcome" though signage posted next to the rest-room building alerts that they must remain on a leash & to "pick up after your pet" both as required by city law, fines apply - just about everyone participates at least in the "controlled by a leash" part no matter the size and temperament of the pet at the moment! Don't know about the other. Information about the city off leash Bark Park at Pendergast is included on the sign (there is a off leash dog park in Silverdale too). Both are about 7 miles way from the park. Nice view of the Narrows, Mt Rainier & the Olympics to enjoy while there.

Beautiful colored skies, nice lighting, and no distractions whatsoever. Mother Nature was good to us that day. We definitely took our time with our shots and made the most of the evening. Other than that, the park is great for walk/jogs and just a nice peaceful area to be at with the waters right next to it. There is also a baseball field, tennis courts and a basketball court, but it was closed during the pandemic. They even unscrewed the basketball hoops off the courts. Just a great stress reliever at this park. :)

There are ample tables for picnics, but only one bench for looking out over the lake. I took up a good portion of it so I could get comfortable reading- it was nice! There is a boat landing dock at the end of the boardwalk for those who want to take a break from their boating adventures. Other portions of the park have walking trails through trees, and there are lovely camping spots too.

It was a lot of fun to come back again years later with my 2yo daughter. They have recently done a complete renovation on the play area of the park. It is all done in a maritime theme perfect for the little quaint town of Gig Harbor. It has a big toy boat to climb in and on with slides, bells, sea life scavenger hunt & more. There is also a sand box, swings, buoys to swing on, climbing toys, etc. It has a rubber surface in the play area. It's very "little kid" friendly which I was impressed with. This park also has a covered area with a sink & running water, picnic tables & BBQs which is great for get togethers. The bathrooms have flush toilets and were very clean. It has a drinking fountain, but wasn't working when we went. It does have some shady areas for escaping the heat. It also has walking trails, wildlife viewing, baseball field, tennis & basketball courts, and of course the creek it was named after :)

There is no longer a playground and just a sad swing set with two regular swings and two baby ones. It rained the day before and my feet were an inch deep into the grass and mud, which were filled with geese poop. There is a bathroom and a big field to walk around in. There is also a nice baseball field to play. There is a community room to host events and etc. And a lot of parking space.

There is also a fishing pier. Huge access to the water. You can walk right up to the lake so watch your kids! Bring a folding chair and just sit back and relax by the lake.

I would be careful though, there are a c homeless drug addics who hand around that place. Some times I can hear this one guy screaming from down the hill. It's also super liminal at night, if you're into that kinda stuff. But I do not recommend for kids to come here alone and stuff cause of that one guy. there's also a field down the hill that's near the school building. It's really fun to go and hang out there, but that's also where the drug addict is. There's also a swing set that lost its swings. it makes me sad whenever I see it, because I love swings. It's also super liminal. If you head to a road that leads to the road net to the school building, there is a pot hole that's shaped like a heart. I think it's really aesthetic. Right next the park there's a giant patch of barren land. on the edge, there is a wall covered in graffiti. I went there with my little sister once and splattered old paint all over it. We also found an old wet porn mag on the floor. that was funny. I'm gonna make a backrooms level based off this park because it looks really liminal at night. I like this park. I wish it was big enough to have a wendigo in it. That would be cool.
