The Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse is located on Pier 5 of Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Built in 1856, it…read moreis one of the oldest Chesapeake lighthouses still in existence. It initially stood on Seven Foot Knoll in the mouth of the Patapsco River, but it was transferred to Baltimore Maritime Museum (now the Historic Ships of Baltimore) in 1997 and was installed at its current location on the pier. It's worth walking over to see the lighthouse if you're wandering around the Inner Harbor (or visiting the Historic Ships of Baltimore), but you'd be lucky to find it open. It's open seasonally to begin with, but the website currently has a note about restoration ("An update on the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse will be coming soon.") and no opening hours. If you are lucky enough to get inside, the website refers to artifacts in its collection? That sounds exciting. But I personally have never seen it open! Still, its size, color, shape, and location make it worth a visit just for photographs if you're in the area.

You can walk around the lighthouse for a free scenic view or go inside where you'll meet a worker. The worker was super informative and nice. He told me and my friend that we could do a self guided tour of the lighthouse for $3/per person or there was another rate for the tour + seeing 4 ships. This time, we ended up just doing the self guided tour. When having conversations between me and my friend, the worker actually chimed in here and there. It was interesting to read up on the previous keepers and their lives. One thing I loved about the lighthouse was that there's a map that lights up to show diff locations of other lighthouses.

If you're like me and you get anxiety over festival parking, be assured that all you need to do is look at the festival map posted online for the event and they have clearly marked parking garages- all for 5 bucks! All liquor was 6 bucks, and food averaged 12 bucks on up. I ended up also getting doggie waffle treats for cheap. I loved their concept and interaction. Overall plenty to do... if you go make sure to check out the live music, vendors, and stay true to Maryland by checking out the seafood food stands! See you next year!

There were rides but mostly they were for the kids enjoyment. Definitely not complaining because slong with the wares there was an abundance of food you only find at festivals like funnel cake and huge turkey legs not to mention pad thai stalls and Jimmy seafood. I ate wayyy too much but i was happy with it. The beer garden was a nice touch for the adults. There was a band going which was nice back ground music. This was a really nice sunday strolling with friends and i got my mothers day shopping out the way!

I'd previously attended last year's Great Grapes! and made it a point to attend this year. After winning some choice tickets at a Yelp Elite event, I was super stoked to be in the building once more. From Linganore to St. Michael's. From Dry Reds to Sweet Table wines, Great Grapes had every wine connoisseurs taste buds covered. One of the great things I love about this festival is the food portion. I tried a few great cheeses as well as caught a few food demos. It also didn't hurt I made several awesome food rubs courtesy of one of the awesome tents. It helped that this year it was not as hot as last year. The weather was perfect and so was my day!

First things first, the park, Oregon Ridge is just beautiful, the vistas are amazing! It is large and family friendly. The festival itself had just about every winery that you could imagine, awesome tastings, cool food, dessert vendors, and amazing crafts. The VIP tent added that extra special touch with seating, private tastings and yummy treats. I can't wait to come back next year, and just lounge!

Alright Aberdeen, you have lots to offer...but if you want the most fun you do have to go to bel…read moreair or even baltimore county. There are several places that you find in Aberdeen that you won't find anywhere else. They now have their own truck food truck parking lot close to the train. They have several different banks, a few gyms (main one is planet fitness since the last two shut down), laundry mats, barbershops, several nail salons (some not even a mile away from another, plenty of fast food options (Taco Bell, McDonald's, Burger King), a post office and so much more. A military installation is inside of Aberdeen called APG, so there is a good amount of traffic during week days due to all the families and workers that go on and off post. The also have a Marc train that goes in and out of Aberdeen. Pretty combiner for commuters. There are starting to have more outdoor events coming to the Aberdeen area instead of them all being in surrounding areas. They just had a bunny race for Easter that just pasted and have several spring events. Another popular attraction is the Ripken stadium. It's a baseball field built by the Ripken family. They have a good amount of events from wedding expos to little league baseball games. It's pretty awesome to watch!! If up north, don't hesitate to stop and visit Aberdeen! =)
