This place is really great! Lady buffington lives on the counter and I'm in love with her she is so cute. There is a massive (somewhat overwhelming) selection going on in this lil shop, a trend here in Bellingham. They have lots of local glass options which is much appreciated. The staff is really nice and attentive, but they aren't overbearing. Very knowledgeable staff as well. We always just say what problem we have and they give us what we need to fix it. They're like the only place with screens it seems. They have a great selection of accessories as well as the actual glass. They also do a monthly raffle which is so fun! Bought a few pieces at Gathering Glass Designs and I definitely have to recommend them. I used to do my purchasing solely at Avalon but GGD is SO much better. Store is CLEAN! It's a somewhat pricey little shop but all artists are local glass blowers so it's something I don't mind paying the extra cash to support. Nothing is imported, everything original and creatively beautiful. Staff is very nice and helpful; I wasn't given dirty looks while I touched the glass leaving finger prints all over the case and they don't hover over you while you browse (I cannot stand that!). They have awesome little accessories, they sell shirts, glass pendants, charms, earrings and other jewelry and the selection of their pieces in particular are superb. I love supporting local businesses; this is one that is high on that list. read more

Wonderful place! No imports, all local. More expensive than Avalon across the street, but the pieces are gorgeous and it's a good way to support local artists if you're not on a budget. They have a store dog who seems nice, but they always put her in back when I come in with my service dog. I have NEVER gotten bad service, rude looks, or had the guy forget to put his dog away, even when he was clearly under the influence. Super chill and awesome guy. read more

Great little shop I discovered while visiting in Bellingham. Beautiful glass and very well kept store! Also noticed that they sell all natural quality Kratom there. I have found that the Kratom in capsule form helps to relieve arthritis pain in my joints, and the Kratom I purchased there has worked exceptionally well for me. This place is friendly and wonderfully put together. I loved all the artwork of their pipes / bongs, personally this place is straight up eye candy and they have a range of prices that are fair depending on what you're looking for. Would definitely NOT recommend this business. Long story short. While in Bellingham (which happens to be 100 miles from our home) my husband and I requested a very specific product. We were sold the WRONG part and were overcharged for it by $20. All this came to light after we got home. We contacted Melissa and after giving us a hard time, telling us it was our fault and demanding a handling fee, she finally agree to send us the correct item and a refund and drop the handling fee. We used priority mail and sent the wrong item back the next day. We never received the right item or refund. There are so many things to love about this place! hands down the best glass selection in the area, and best of all NO IMPORTS!! they only support local artists and always have something different. It's nice to know that you can trust the quality of their products. I've been living in Bellingham for about 5 years and this has been my go to spot for all my smoking necessities. Not to mention, the staff are knowledgable about functionality, quality, and heady glass artists. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! it can be hard to come by these days with all the china glass in every weed shop and gas station. I love supporting my community and local artists. Lastly, the owner of the store recommended I try their kratom for my chronic back pain and WOW DOES IT WORK!! I was skeptical at first, but once I tried it I couldn't believe that I had never heard of it before! It helps with my mood and overall focus, while easing my pain, truly amazing. Since then I have tried purchasing kratom at several other locations because the Gathering was closed, and honestly the quality just does not compare. Best quality kratom and price! As far as glass shops go from Portland to Canada this has got to be #1. But then again i look for quality pieces and above all A helpful staff. They get an A+ in all departments, in life you get what you pay for so you might as well have the best and that's gathering glass studios. I will never spend my cash anywhere else you guys have a customer for life. One other huge bonus is the local artists and the oil rigs they do the research and stay on top of the technology out there. thanks guys read more
