The service is terrible we had a waitress Gianna she needs to be better trained we wanted to order more drinks she never came by our table she was busy sitting in booth for 25 mins talking to some other person as if we weren't even there no refill no service when she was good and ready she dropped our table and said here's the bill I believe she has half a brain did not offer desert another drink now it made sense why the place lack of people dinning there the owner/manager we express our experience. We visited on a Friday night and it was packed! Luckily we were able to be seated without a long wait. Gator Bites gives sports bar vibes. There are a lot of tvs to watch your favorite game. The service was great, we were greeted right away and asked what types of seats we would prefer, bar, high top or booth. She refilled waters as soon as they were empty without having to ask. Iansked her opinion on which thing I should order and she was very helpful the alligator quesadilla was absolutely delicious! Best quesadilla I've ever eaten. The French fries were also very crispy and cooked to perfection. I didn't eat the clam strips but my cousin. It was a really chill spot with some cool designs inside. It wasn't very busy. Nice bar and small restaurant - seems to be run by U-Michigan fans. It has about ten booths, and around ten tables, with also full bar seating. Has a handful of choices of appetizers, main dishes, and desserts - with quite a lot of drink options. Prices are low compared to many other local places. A thing that was unusual for me was eating a "gator quesadilla". I liked it. I don't know that the gators that I saw shortly before I went there would appreciate. read more

Our golf group would go here every Monday after golf (15-20 people). We were approached by the manager a few weeks ago. He was unhappy that we didn't give him a heads up that we were coming? We are in town visiting family and on our way to the beach. Decided to Google restaurants with gator this restaurant popped up. It looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. I have to to say GatorBites had to be the best kept secret of fort Myers and Sanibel area. I highly recommend this place. You walk in and you're instantly greeted with friendly hellos and the ambulance is just amazing you feel like you really are in Southwest Florida. The service was great friendly knowledgeable no complaints. We all had some form of gator. My husband had gator nachos, I had a gator cheeseburger and our daughter had gator bites. She also had fish sticks which was also outstanding. Where to start, first off, the atmosphere was dynamic, with live music. I ordered the Gator Burger, which was killer. My fiancé ordered the gator philly which was bold and bursting with flavors. The gator is definitely not chewy like most gator I've had, it's tender and delicious. The service is on point including, seeing the business owner Nick. whom is a die hard Detroit Lions fan, doing his due diligence on the floor making sure customers are sitting down in adequate time. We stopped in on a rainy Tuesday afternoon around 5 PM and had an enjoyable early dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food exceeded my expectations, and the service was friendly and prompt. The gator is their main hook and worth a try if you haven't had it before. The dining area is spacious with plenty of hi tops, tables, and booths to fit our party of five. There are also plenty of televisions to catch up on the day of sports. Aside from the gator section and seafood platter section, the menu consists mainly of sandwiches with chicken, fish, or burgers as your choice of protein. There's enough variety and twists to give you plenty of options. Drinks are $1 off during Happy Hour which runs from open until 6. The beer selection is pretty chalk with a couple of local brews thrown in which I appreciated. I wasn't too impressed with the gator as it was pretty tough and I would agree the flavor sits somewhere between chicken and pork. My brother in law and my wife enjoyed their burgers which the patties were cooked and seasoned correctly. My nephew devoured his BBQ chicken sandwich. For $15.99 the seafood platter #2 came with a side salad, fried clam strips, 1/3 pound grilled filet of mahi mahi, and 2 shrimps with my choice of buffalo preparation. Everything tasted delicious and the platter was a steal in my book. Total for the meal for 4 before tip was $87. Our server was on top of everything and even gave us some local intel and suggestions. The food isn't going to blow your socks off, but Gator Bites Tail & Ale is a solid option if you want to stay away from the crowds and prices of the restaurants on the beach. read more

Went there on a Monday evening around 8. Not very busy but wasn't really expecting it on Monday, particularly. I ordered the "shrimps" grilled with sweet chili and fries. The shrimp were absolutely excellent and grilled perfectly! Some of the best shrimp I have had in the Fort Myers area I thought! Believe it or not and I order shrimp a lot. And the sweet chili was perfect, spicy but not too much. It was a great meal for a very reasonable price. My husband had a side salad and chicken fingers, both very plentiful and really good. I recommend this bar! If the owners read this I would recommend you take some of the signs out of the windows to allow people a look inside! I think it would help entice people more to visit!! We were a little unsure till we went in. For what it is I thought it was great. I would have went 5 star but was a little turned off because you couldn't see in or outside much to get any feel for what it was like until you enter. Again, food and the service were A+. Absolutely!! Arrived at Gator Bites after attempting two other sports bars in the vicinity (which shall remain nameless). It's February in FM and EVERY PLACE is packed!! When we arrived at the other two, there was no where to even park, NO WHERE!! Glad we ended up at Gator Bites. Their "Perfect Burger" is pretty damn perfect.....perfectly pink medium!! And my husband said his fish and chips were pretty good. We sat outside on the patio, as they had a band inside that was very loud, and seemed to have a loyal following. We could still here the music outside and it was very enjoyable. But the absolutely best part was our server, Autumn..,,friendly, engaging, very personable and attentive! We will return.
