I brought my 2023 RV to Gator Ford for engine work. During the work, they damaged the interior of the cab - scratched panels and broken trim, and messed up the rubber flooring. When I brought it to their attention and asked them to fix it, they denied it and then ghosted me. No replies to emails or phone calls from the service manager. Do not take your RV to gator Ford. Let me start off by saying that coming into this review I wanted to compliment the service department on something before ripping them a new hole. Outside of the lack of communication the service advisors are quite friendly. This is where the realm of what I've experience with this dealership ends. This is Ford specific This part is Ford specific: Last year I purchased a 2019 Ford F-150 Limited. I can say that ever since my extremely bad treatment back in 2015 when I bought a brand new 2015 Mustang Ecoboost where it was in the shop for over 94 days, I have been extremely hesitant about buying another Ford. Somewhere between dealing with the multitude of issues that Ford has yet to work out in terms of the engine and transmission to the quality of the product. So giving them a chance after 10 years my thought was that they must have at this point gotten their mess together. Oh I was wrong and very wrong at that. The truck I bought, was about 5 years old, but it was the top of the top of the line. Had the best interior quality and had a raptor engine but packaged in a Platinum body. After owning it after a year here's what I have found. The leather on the seats wears so fast that currently the seats on my truck look like the leather seats in a 2001 Lincoln Town Car, it's worn and shriveled. The dash above the steering wheel has started peeling up. This was, in 2019, a very expensive truck and the materials don't show that at all. Ford has told me that it's $5000 to replace the dash. So owners replace it others don't even care due to the cost. I've had the truck in for a multitude of issues to include the transmission twice, and other functioning parts a couple of times. Ford use to be extremely reliable but when Ford tells me that its going to cost $123 to replace a cabin filter and the cost to replace the cabin filter on my 2024 Cadillac was $76, I have serious concerns and questions. This is Gator Ford Specific: My 2019 Ford F-150 Limited went into Gator Ford when I first bought it last year, not even having it for a month, but that was expected when I bought it used. They found somethings that needed attention, and working with my previous service advisor made things very palatable. The communication wasn't what I wanted it to be but he was extremely professional and really ensured that everything was handled at his end. This last time when I came in, my spouse and I were extremely frustrated at the extreme lack of communication. The fact that Ford thinks its ok that people can go more then a week without a vehicle especially when the work they are doing is warranty work for a new Ford part. I turned my truck into service on the Tuesday before thanksgiving, and it was ready Monday afternoon of December 8. That is unacceptable to have to be without a car that long. Further more the lack of communication and the promises of updating and keeping me abreast of the status of my vehicle never happened. I should not have to call you repeatedly to find out what's going on with my vehicle, but have a progress report of what's going on daily if not every other day and when milestones are hit the advisor should be letting the customer know those milestones. I felt like i was pulling out teeth. Between finding out why a brand new transmission was kicking to why the AC felt like it wasn't cooling the truck fast enough. I got multiple responds regarding all the issues and at one point didn't find out that the trucks transmission was being worked on until Thursday 12/4 which puzzled me as no one told me why. So massive problem I have found is the communication between customer and business, but there is one event that caused me to get so furious that it led to me writing this review. Over the last two times I've had my truck at Gator Ford for service, I have had a very expensive scent diffuser broken, and this last time I went to pick up the truck there were multiple grease stain on the doors and interior as well as the fact they didn't clean up after themselves and left my important documents that they took out of my glove box on the floor. I know of no business that treats other peoples vehicles like this and to do so means that you have no respect for your customers or their property what so ever leaving water bottles and trash in someone's truck and leaving it a mess is very bad business i have to say. read more

Service Advisor: Nick Rowe Technician in November 2024: Hunter I originally had my car in to be serviced November 2024 for a noise coming from the right rear wheel. It was recommended first to have the right rear wheel assembly replaced, so they could then pinpoint if/where other noises were coming from. While figuring out the issue a part was broken because the technician could not disassemble it. Which meant repair was impossible and we had to fully replace it, not at any discount to us. When the car was eventually returned after all of that work was done and we drove the car home it started making a sound even more horrific than before, which we recorded and sent to our service advisor, Nick. When we brought it back in Nick informed us that they forgot to put the "dust cover" back on, and that was what was causing the noise. The noise sounded like metal on metal. Once got our car back for the second time Nick was very eager to close out the ticket with our warranty company. When we pressed him earlier in the process about the issues we were having he warned us that if anything else needed to be brought to the attention of Fidelity, my warranty company, they would have to send someone out to make an inspection of the work since so many issues had been presented and he had to submit requests to them for coverage more than once. While that wasn't a red flag then it certainly is now. In November I received a video from our technician Hunter and in that video he said my tires had plenty of life on them. July 2025 I brought my car in again because my back tires were wearing EXTREMELY unevenly. On the same wheel that they repaired the tire is almost completely stripped. Sunday 7/27 I had it inspected by another dealership before I brought it to Gator Ford, where I was told that the damage was extreme and not naturally occurring. It was their belief that the extreme and immature wear was due to the faulty services provided to me back in November/December 2024 at Gator Ford. We gave Gator Ford the opportunity to make the situation right to which our service tech Nick has thrown every excuse to make the responsibility ours. He said that it is possible the damage was caused by them BUT it was recommended to us to do the alignment. A note on the recommendations, after initial diagnostics we were given 8 pages of recommendations amounting to nearly $5k in services and fees. Our service advisor Nick told us that it is just recommended and not to get overwhelmed and we can decline. Nick also presented it to us as "recommendations due at 100,000 miles," in no way were these recommendations tied into the repairs we needed. When you present the consumer with an overwhelming amount of recommendations varying in urgency and importance it's overshadows what actually is recommended. At no point was it made clear to us that an alignment would be recommended at that time DUE TO THE SERVICES BEING PROVIDED. Additionally, ethically I don't see how a dealership could hold the consumer or a warranty company financially responsible for repair of damages that were caused as a result of the work they provided. While I understand all of these things are components to a healthy operating vehicle the components that are necessary for the work at hand are completely getting lost within 8 pages of items. These recommendations were also made prior to 2 mistakes made by the service department. Why should the consumer be held responsible for damage potentially caused by the technician? Business practices like this are not only not in good faith, but not ethical either. It's no wonder that Fidelity was getting worried about the work and practices and would've needed to come inspect the vehicle. It's impractical to have the consumer pay for 2 new tires and an alignment when you can't tell me it won't happen again in 6 months. When we found Gator we felt like we were in good hands and that is not longer the feeling at all. I highly recommend, avoiding going there even for the simplest of repairs. read more

My wife brought her 2022 car in with 20k miles on it for oil change, any recall stuff, and any required 20k mile maintenance and here's what the stealership tries to push on her!!!! Now, this same dealership has told me while my same make and model car (2 years older than hers) was under a service contract that even at 110k miles, it didn't need anything done for brakes, injectors, plugs. Nothing! Zero! Zip! Nada!!! Now, my wife fortunately called me, and I looked up premium parts costs: Engine air filter $13.68 Cabin air filter $18.48 So...they wanted to charge her $200 for changing two filters that might take 10 minutes of time combined??? Plus another $612 for fuel system cleaning that can be done with a simple $10 bottle of Techron fuel additive??? And brake fluid exchange for another easy $310 ??? Bu!!$Hi+!!!!!! FU, Gator Ford!!! You wouldn't have tried that crap on a man, and funny that those things don't seem necessary when it's under a service contract!!!! Predatory behavior and massive rip-off pricing!!!!! GATOR FORD SERVICE IS AWESOME ! After having horrible treatment at another dealership,I called Gator Ford about a TSB I received from FORD. I spoke to Brad and the appointment was set for 2 days from now. At drop off 0900 we discussed the issue with the car. (I had brought the codes with me) and the TSB and he said they would take care of the issue. Much better experience than standing in a travel lane trying to speak. They have an indoor service counter, and several stations for employees to work. We left the car and were texted around 1330 with a video link to what they found as things that could use correction. Ordered last October, finally arrived and has been prepped. Today I received an email with my final pricing and the dealership has added $2,899.00 of options that I never requested! Tinted Windows, interior and exterior surface protection. What a scam! I talked to the sales rep that has been assisting over the course of the year and he explained that the same old same old - "we do that to every vehicle we receive". This matter follows on the heels of wrongfully ordering my truck last year. I ordered a First Edition, Rapid Red AWD w 4 k tow package. And as was common last year never got a confirmation from the Dealership. Long story abbreviated here - without my permission - they changed my order to a Cyber Orange truck - no longer a Lariat and no longer First Edition!! Then I responded by email to disregard the First Edition, as by that time I had one on order. And requested they change to order to a color I would like: Alto Blue. Eventually I got that order changed and confirmed. Then I sent a number of emails asking for confirmation of pricing - after 3-4 emails, the response was at MSRP price. NOTHING STATED that "Dealer Options" would be added, or even a request to install Dealer Options! This vehicle was a total $31,380.00 MSRP is NOW $38,29.00!! The sales rep stated that the Dealer will not remove their added options and if I did not want to purchase it from their dealership, I could have them transfer it over to another dealership. WTF is that for a resolution? Other than to NOT DO BUSINESS with their dealership? By telephone I have initiated a complaint (# 39700936) with Ford and was told that Area Manager would contact the dealership. Bought a used Silverado and bought an extended warranty. As soon as I took car home had numerous issues with break down. Some very expensive. I didn't care because of the extended warranty I bought. Long story short they didn't cover not one of the items that broke. Even the air compressor was replaced with new one when I bought car. It failed and it came with 2 year warranty. They didn't cover that also. Found out they didn't use a GM part but part used from auto zone came with a warranty of 2 years . I even have their invoice showing purchase date . They told me they wouldn't cover item because they are a ford dealership and I bought a Chevy silverado . Completely insane, makes no sense . They are slippery . I have made numerous calls to speak to a manager and they always seem to disappear . Never call me back. I have accepted I got screwed and just had crown GMC put a GM part in and works like new . My experience with Gator Ford Sales started my disliking of this company. First they tried to screw me on my trade and the price of the vehicle I was going to purchase, I walked away and saved $7300 for the same vehicle at their competitors lot. Gator Fords service department just isn't customer friendly anymore, I've used them for years but no longer will. Took my F250 in after 3 attempts to get it looked at. My 7am appointment ended up being mechanic doesn't start till 8am they are really backed up. Can you leave it for the day. Oh and by the way it's $149 to run a diagnostic on a warranty issue that popped up the day after they serviced the truck. I've permanently removed Gator Fords number from my phone. read more

As others have mentioned their listings online are not accurate. I drove over an hour to buy a brand new car outright. 1st they claimed that "that car shouldn't be listed" 2. They said it was sold. 3. After driving around we found the car we were looking for, VIN matched out. After all of this, they wanted 40 k higher than the price online! I get mark up and dealer fees, but 40k? The man claimed it was due to "big tires and a lift". He was extremely condescending asking me "if I knew what a suspension was?" The salesman was incredibly uneducated, he didn't know aluminium v steel wheels. He claimed the "new wheels" on the truck were steel, and that stock was alumunium, and that is why there was a mark up. What "steel" wheels are 40k? He also argued back and forth over, and I had to tell him to not speak to me so rude. I left, and will never return. Dont waste your time. To get the online price of a vehicle I had to fill out some information on the website. They asked how I want to be contacted and I said with email. Usually the internet price is at least 1K off not at Gator ford it was 200$ dollars. Then I got an email pretty fast it was late in the day but the next morning I received 3 phone calls by 10am. I did not ask for a call but said please email me no calls. Then the emails kept coming 5-6 a day. Then I get todays email.... Todays email starts like this "Thanks again for your request a few days ago. I haven't heard anything back from you yet and was curious if I have done anything wrong or somehow offended you..." it's funny why people that work at car dealerships don't understand why the public hates dealing with car sales people this is why. BUYER BEWARE!!! GATOR FORD IN Plant City/Seffner, Florida!!! This is long, do not want this happening to others. Well, it has been a little over 2 months and Gator Ford has done nothing to make it right. Was told to feel free to post all I want, and that they are mainly in the truck business. There was a difference of $2,399, between the website price and the price they charged before adding all the taxes and other fees. I realized after receiving the printout (which asked to be mailed to me), was charged $299 for appearance protection, $184 third-party private tag agency, $199 Electronic Registration filing fee, and of course their $999 predelivery fee. I knew about the $999 predelivery fee, but not the other fees. To make it right, truly believe they should send me a check for $1,400! This would be the $2,399 - $999 = $1,400 (I knew about the $999) Have asked for the service report on what was done before the Audi went on their lot, to date have not received. I was also told verbally they would buy the Audi back for full price. Asked to send this to me in an email or text the total they would buy it back for, as of today have not received! Of course, after having the vehicles for over 2 months and loving my Audi S5, have no desire to let them buy it back. I will take the blame for not reading and checking all the figures before signing, but after over 5 hours of being at their dealership, I was hungry and ready to leave. Which I should have walked out! My advice to anyone looking to buy from Gator Ford is to JUST WALK AWAY or NEVER WALK-IN! If you decide to take the chance, make sure you have them print out all the paperwork before you sign! Their listing online listed a truck at $33,794, we drove 3 hours across the state to go get it only to find out there is a $2399 service fee they charge on top of the listed price that was NOT listed online in the vehicle description. Furthermore they charge a $1000 "non ford financing" fee if you want to finance outside of their dealership. To top it off there was a $999 "dealer doc fee" and a $725 "non tax fee. In the end the vehicle listed for $33,700 ended up with a out the door cost of $42,445. 6 hours of driving to learn the lesson to STAY away from this dealership. read more

Update: I don't mean to throw anybody under the bus. However, I think they bribe people get get the 5-star reviews (see attached picture). We were over charged $300 during closing than the amount agreed upon. In addition, we were promised things before we signed the purchase agreement. However, once they got our signature and the down payment, we were left in the dark. We were finally refunded the $300 that we were over charged for, more than 6 months after our purchase date. Furthermore, we were told to come and get the all weather floor mats at our window tinting appointment. Once again, they happen to not have the all weather floor mats on the day of our window tinting appointment. Needless to say, we never got them. Now they are all of sudden, they are good will items. They replaced all 4 brakes/calipers,rotors, etc., yet they actually charged me for replacing 5 brakes brakes/calipers,rotors, etc. when there are only 4 on the vehicle. In addition, the core charge(s) from the four(4) removed brake calipers was not credited on the invoice. - I've sent numerous documented Certified Mail letters to Gator Ford service manager and facility owner, no response was ever received. - Later, I hand carried copies of all my documentation to the service manager Gary Savary, he stated he would research this and get back to me. That never happened. - Even the Ford Motor Company, Customer Service Representative couldn't do nothing for it's an issue with the service department at the dealership since it was privately owned. The sales people and finance people were very nice and helpful, unfortunately that was the only bright side of my experience. I did a test drive on Saturday and there was an audible creaking sound, which I was told was from the hard top being somewhat loose, and would be fixed prior to picking the vehicle up Monday. On Monday I finished financing the vehicle with my bank and upon arriving to the dealership, check in hand, was told that the wrong tire carrier for the 5th wheel was not made for the aftermarket wheels/tires and that I would need to purchase a new one. Then I was told the vehicle was detailed, however someone accidentally drove through a mud puddle and didn't bother cleaning off the mud. Lastly, when I got in the vehicle to drive away, I noticed that there was only 1/3rd a tank of gasoline. Buyer beware of this place. I went to Gator Ford after I finished looking at a job sight in lake land. I was told by a few people there customer service is horrible. I decided to stop in anyways in order to look for a new truck to benefit my business and also for me to enjoy my earnings and purchase a new truck. When I pulled in I was greeted by "Bud" a sales man. (Who was smoking a cigarette) Told him I'm looking to get into a new truck and I really like this one and it's exactly what I'm looking for (2020 f350 platinum that was literally just pulled up in the front, like it was meant for me.) Long story short, we went to work numbers, bud asked for my keys so he could get my trucks value. Then started working numbers for the sale and Multiple times (total of 6) they came back with number that just absolutely wouldn't work for me and I said no hard feelings I'll let you guys know when I sell my truck and I'll come back and we can talk. (throughout these discussions I have already asked for my keys back twice now.) During this duration of wasting 3 hours of my time while I still have another job site I have to go to, I still don't have my keys for my truck back. So when I tell them I'm done for the day I'd like my keys back so I can leave, they go back as to what I thought they were getting my keys for me and come back not with my keys but new papers they finally have the numbers I wanted to see to make a deal. Bud (my sales guy) goes to shake my hand because he's excited about making a deal and finally getting my numbers, I said thank you and asked for my keys to my truck. This way I could get everything I needed out and get ready to move into my new truck. Bud looks at me with a nasty look and Called me a no good piece of shit and I'm not a man of my word and that I'm a shitty businesses owner. Cursing me out and was beyond nasty with me. I stood there stunned and surprised on what I just heard. I said Bud get me my keys now you have lost this sale. No one in their right mind would let that be ok and be talked to like that after they were dragged out for a deal and then treated like that when I'm making a 90k+ purchase. Even if it was a 10k purchase, no one should be treated like that. As bud was walking away and still cursing at me to get me my keys, cause that's what they do, they hold Your Personal keys hostage to make a sale so You can't leave! He then tries to come at me and whipped my keys at me, like he was trying to strike out a "home run batter", as he throw them at me and missed, hitting into a desk instead. So much more to write but I'm sure by now you get the story and how belittling and disrespected I was by this dealership. I won't even get into how the finances team made me feel. I am A true and through Ford owner. That's all I have owned since I was 14 and my grandfather bought me a mustang for us to work on. Service department is a JOKE - I made an appointment two weeks out from the appointment date. I arrived at the scheduled time and they told me it's be up to 48 hours before they looked at it. Well, 48 hours come and go and I hear nothing. i call and after some running around they determine that the vehicle hasn't been even looked at and they had no idea when they'd get to it. I scheduled my appointment on the phone with A Service Manager & was pleasantly greeted on the day of my appointment. The process of checking in was very fast & efficient. To begin, my experience with my sales person (Juan) went very well. Now comes the negatives. I was told every used car goes through a safety check before they sell it. On my way home it started to rain. I put the wipers on and 1 blade was literally falling off. Got off the highway safely and spent $50 on wipers. Got home and started reading everything that came with the car. There were no floor mats that were written down. Called and was told that was the detail department. SO? Another $50 for mats. Again while driving home ( maybe 5 miles) the car started to shake a bit. Called Juan and he told me to make an appointment and they would take care of it. When I returned they took the car in and told me it would be over $200 for a 4 tire balance and front end alignment. I left and called Juan once and made another appointment. Just got here for the tire balance and front end alignment. Told 3 to 4 hrs. Are you kidding me. My father had owned a used car dealership all his life. Great service and support. Salesman Jeff Hamilton was attentive and got the ball rolling on getting the truck I wanted. The process was smooth and I was kept informed of the progress. Once the cost and payment was worked out I was introduced to Juan in the finance department. He was very knowledgeable and explained the whole process as we signed multiple documents. Very friendly people but really disappointed by the listing price vs what they wanted for the vehicle out the door. I understand Gator Ford isn't the only dealership that does this but as a consumer it is very frustrating. I know you guys are able to take advantage of a lot of uneducated customers with these bait and switch tactics. However, it just ends up being a waste of time for everyone. read more

Gave 1 star because you can not give 0 ! My husband and I along with my father in law went to look for a Ford Fusion. The salesman that came out was very arrogant and condescending and Apparantly had a problem with women because he would blatantly ignore me when I would ask a question and he made his dislike of women very obvious by not making eye contact with me or addressing me in anyway. We sat down at the table to talk and I called him out by saying, "do you have a problem? Because you are being very rude to me and seem to have a problem. His reply was that he didn't realize it and he was sorry I took it that way. To say the least I was very upset with his behavior and def do not appreciate being treated like a lesser person because I am a woman. Obviously we did promptly leave after that and I will never step foot in that location again. read more

I'm incredibly dissatisfied with Gator Ford on both the sales and service side. I bought my Ford Edge here in 2013 and had an okay experience. In 2015 we went to buy my husband's F-150 and we were basically held hostage by the salesman who wouldn't give us back the keys to our trade in. We ended up buying from Brandon Ford because the truck we wanted to buy was supposed to be brand new but looked as if it was demoed to customer for a week. The real disappointment is the service department. My Edge has been in the shop a total of 4 times since we bought it. The headache and frustration we have had to deal with for warranty work is a nightmare. They drag their feet on getting the job done, they make promises they can't keep when it concerns a timeframe for the job to be completed, they don't care how inconvenienced you are by not having a vehicle for 3-5 days at a time and the list seems to go on. I will NEVER buy a vehicle from here again and I will NEVER have it serviced here either. Waste of time and sanity. read more
