I want to let everyone know how pleased I am with Vinod and Geek Force. I had a laptop, and it died. I needed data recovery. Before I went to Geek Force's store front, I visited and spoke to several other places. Some of the other places I visited, the staff was probably very smart, but they looked unkempt, and the workplace was disheveled. And the price range they quoted was high with no guarantees of what they might be able to accomplish. When I visited Geek Force's office, while modest, it was very neat and professional. Highly recommended on all levels!!! I came here to have them look at my T-430 Lenovo laptop after it went dead and wouldn't reboot. Robbie said he would look at it and call me back. He called me a few hours later and informed me that the mother board was gone and recommended that instead of replacing it I should recover the data and get a newer laptop. He didn't even charge me for the diagnostic. He even found me some good deals for newer model Lenovo's on Craigslist. I decided to pass on the hard drive extraction and data recovery until I have gotten another opinion. I searched a few places that could help me with data recovery for my computer's hard drive and saw this location had some great reviews. And now I am more than happy to add to them because this place really lived up to their 5-star rating. I called the day before I went in and spoke with Tyler who was very helpful over the phone. He told me everything I would need to bring with me before I got there. The following day I went and visited this location and waited for about a minute as Tyler was finishing up with a previous guest. We then spoke about the problem with my computer and he offered his expert opinion of what the problem could be. After we chatted a bit he also gave me a breakdown of the cost and how long this process would be. I signed my computer in and was able to pick it up the following day! The whole process only took about 24 hours (I'm sure this is different per guest, but I was definitely satisfied with how long it took). Before I paid and picked up my computer, Tyler showed me the external hard drive my data was on and it was all there. Everything was great. I definitely appreciate the time it took to complete this whole process and the excellent customer service I received from Tyler. What I really appreciate about this place is how comfortable you feel! A few other reviewers mentioned how they felt like they were just talking to a friend. Same here. I had a gaming PC that just stopped working. First I went to Staples and their tech guy said it was the power supply but he didn't have any parts. Then I looked on Yelp and found Geek Force. They scheduled me right away. Robbie explained they would diagnose the problem and call me the next day. He called as promised and as it turned out it was a bad RAM stick, not the power supply. I had two hard drives that I used as backups for my Mac. They stopped being accessible. They would not mount and so I couldn't access any files on the drives. Even after I got a new MacBook Pro I couldn't access the drives. Took it in to Geek Force and Kevin understood the problem right away. He offered a solution and possible outcomes - best case scenario to worst case. He was able to transfer ALL the files from the drives onto a new drive I had provided. He reformatted the old drives so they would function correctly. He kept me up to date with phone calls and I had the drives back in about 5 days. I visited them on a Saturday and believe I met with the owner. He was friendly and helpful. I brought in my Macbook Air because I had stripped a couple of the screws while trying to remove the cover. The owner made a quick attempt at removing the stripped screws, and unable to do so, provided me with a fair quote on a more involved process to remove the screws. I was having issues with my laptop keyboard functioning and originally went to Best Buy where they recommended me join a $200 geek squad protection plan for a year to do a diagnostic test on my laptop, which does not even cover the fix fee or whatever extra parts I needed. I found Geek Force USA on Yelp, and was so glad I went to them. Kevin and Vinod were very friendly, kept me updated on the status of the laptop, and gave me a reasonable price to fixing my laptop. Let me first say, these guys are the best! I use them for my work and personal computers. They are so helpful and knowledgeable and what I appreciate most is that they will explain it all to you so you understand what can and can't be done. My computers at work were slow, and I know nothing about virus software and how to properly back up my files. My computer screen broke so I called in to get a quote. They were extremely helpful and gave me a small range of prices on the phone. After bringing my computer to them, it was fixed within 5 days.
