My computer had been having multiple problems - all very frustrating, but had been trying to work around them. Finally called Chris today and he was able to come by this afternoon. Chris is a very laid back person, and he was up for anything, even I know he had several appts after me. He was very quickly able to troubleshoot my computer and figured out things that were most likely causing these problems. Deleted my Norton Internet Security software which turns out to be a piece of *%$#. We loaded a new anti-virus software and did a back up on my computer on Carbonite, which he recommended. My system is running much quicker and I know it is much more secure. His rates are very reasonable and Chris is very knowleable about computers. He also had lots of other great tips for the computer. Worst customer service experience and lost computer. Wish we could give zero stars. Chris promised my daughter a 2 week turn around. 6 weeks later (going on 7 weeks) no computer. He was paid upfront. He subcontracted the job out to Rossman Repair Group in New York who lost the package in transit the last week of September. Chris Sobrito has not once called Rossman to follow up, told us it was "Out of my hands." and he does not deal with shipping and for us to call Rossman. Rossman said they are not accustomed to talking directly to Chris's customers. He has not returned calls but declining them. My ex-husband called and he answered, can only assume it's because he didn't recognize the number. My daughter has had to drop 3 college courses because she could not do the homework / work load on an iPhone screen. Again, computer was promised a month before school started which was October 1st. I had to file an investigation with USPS with no help from either South Bay Tech or Rossman. read more

I wrote a very lengthy and eloquent review about how this was the single worst experience I have had in 2015 with a business. As a small business owner myself I cannot fathom letting a customer be that dissatisfied and have them leave completely unhappy with their experience. The 'tech' there is dismissive and rude and when I asked him to leave me alone so I could wait in peace for the owner to return he just kept coming outside to interact with me against my wishes. He was not only rude when he spoke down to me he also refused to allow me to wait peacefully outside alone. I merely wanted to speak to the owner face to face to have him try to help me understand why the one thing I was paying to have done was not done. I do. It write many reviews but I now have a mission for 2016, write a terrible review on every webpage I can find about how no one should ever go to this place. It's a shame that they are allowed to treat people that way and I feel that it's the consumers rights to know how they have treated people in the past. After I returned from 3 weeks away from home, my computer was starting sporadically and shutting down at random intervals. I troubleshooted it myself, but eventually reached the limits of my expertise. Found Chris on Yelp, read the reviews, liked what I saw, and drove down to have him check out my PC. The first thing that impressed me about Chris was his lack of ego. I know a good bit about computer hardware, and he didn't blow me off when I told him that I suspected it was a faulty PSU (like some computer technicians I've dealt with in the past). He ran a burn out on the hardware, but that didn't reveal the problem. We then ran multiple video games to tax the system, left that running for an hour, and when we returned the computer was off. After other tests, he decided that it was most likely a faulty GPU, but he had no issue when I insisted that he wait until he got the hardware on Monday to test the PSU. Sure enough, today he discovered that it was in fact a faulty PSU. Computer hardware faults can be ambiguous and difficult to isolate, so I have no issue with the initial misdiagnosis because Chris was willing to listen to me and wait to test the PSU. The price for a full system diagnostic taking place over the course of three hours, holding the PC for 3 days, and then testing it again on Monday? $30. So why the negative reviews? It's simple, Chris expects to get paid for his work and is no sycophant. If you want somebody who will put in the effort to fix your computer and charge a fair price, get Chris. If you want somebody who will kiss your butt and work for free, go somewhere else. read more

I work for a big name children's TV company doing music. My computers are vital to my job and what I do. Friday morning I tried to book up my desktop and it would not boot. I self diagnosed it as a possible hard drive crash and immediately began calling my known apple repair shops in the area. I called Advanced Micro Systems Inc (sorry our guy is out of town this weekend, earliest is Monday). I called Pacific Premier, they were busy and their turnaround time was 7 days. I was about to have a panic attack when I decided to just search google one more time. Upon searching I stumbled across The SB tech guru's. Gave the number a call and within 2 rings Chris picked up. He was very cool and courteous and straightforward. I told him the computer symptoms, and he came to the same conclusions I did, that it needed a new hard drive. So I brought it down to his office and he tried to work his magic and after 5 minutes he confirmed it was in fact a hard drive failure. Since it was Friday afternoon and I had a Monday deadline for music to be turned in, I put my computer in his hands hoping he could save me. He assured me that he could have it fixed by the next day!!!! Saturday I ended up running into some things hat had to be done. Luckily Chris called me that evening and said "it's all ready to go!!!" And I told him Id pick it up Sunday am. Well today is Sunday and I just got back home and my computer is alive again!!!!! All my data is safe on my other drives. I have a brand new clean OS. it's speedy and efficient. And it couldn't have happened with out the awesome work by Chris.
