I think the coolest part about walking into B & L is that it is a time capsule that represents every comic shop I ever went to as a kid and young adult. This is a good thing. Larry is such a nice guy and he knows comics and has a great selection of wall books and back issues. He also gets new books on Wednesdays. The shop has comic supplies along with some great sports cards and non-sport cards. He carries other great collectibles and even some candy which I can't say no to...ever! Larry and B & L will have Free Comics tomorrow for Free Comic Book Day. Stop in and say hi!!! We appreciate his support over the years and we appreciate Larry's shop for being such a pure old-school cool comic shop!

I love stopping into a shop that is definitely Chaotic Neutral. Maybe Chaotic Good. Or visa-versa. This shop is showcased / packed with Gaming, Gaming, Gaming. If you look up gaming in the dictionary, there's gonna be a picture of this shop They have gaming supplies, all sorts of card games, all sorts of singles, all sorts of table top games, dice and a great place in the back of the store to sit down and play whatever you desire. Markus also has what I believe is the only display of Sideshow collectible statues In Cleveland. If you like the stuff, be sure to break out your wallet they are not cheap. All along the tops of all the shelves are additional statues and other toys and collectibles. Be sure to look up. They carry, as I said, gaming supplies, and Comic supplies. They also have new comics on Wednesdays and Comics displayed around the store. A huge selection of graphic novels are along the wall on the right hand side. Markus has a lot of marquee or dioramas set up, and I love his Beholder, the huge G.I. Joe aircraft carrier and of course the Star Wars robot in the back. Only pictures can do this store justice. Please take a look at the pics. Markus and Ground Zero will have some free comics for a free comic book day. Be sure to stop out and see them.

Carol and John's Comic Book Shop…read more I don't think anyone would argue that this shop is a prime example of everyone's favorite friendly-neighborhood comic shop. John and crew make this shop accessible to all ages. They have their layout dialed in, their social media dialed in, their special events dialed in and exciting and their books and pricing dialed in so all collectors can enjoy. New books weekly with some cool Facebook intros. A stellar shop cat, Winston, who actually runs things. ( it's a his shop and he actually let's us all enjoy it.) Their back issues are on sale, they have some neat manga titles and families will like the kid's area. They have supplies and probably the largest dual wall of Graphic Novels in Northeast Ohio. Went in the other day to buy an ETB for Destined Rivals. Should be $60 for an ETB, they're asking $90. They will whine about "bad distribution", yet when I first started going there they told me they have great relationships with the distributors. They're laughing all the way to the bank around the Pokemon hype. Easier to just go to another shop like Empire Game Center and get Pokemon product for actual retail price. Do better!

Unfortunately, I went on Joe, the owner's off day, so I didn't get a chance to say hi to him, but his staff is always warm and friendly. I dig the amount of Star Wars memorabilia he has, along with all the other toys, collectible card games, tabletop games, and of course, the pinball machines. He also has new Comics weekly along with some back issues, stickers, supplies, and some really great statues. They run Magic the Gathering nights and other gaming functions please jump on their Facebook page to see their schedule. If you're looking for collectible card games singles, they also have probably one of the largest supplies in Northeast Ohio. Check out the 55 pictures I shot. Anytime I shoot 55 pictures tells me that there's so much goodness in there that I can't make up my mind which pictures to shoot. We appreciate the support that they've given us over years. Went by…read morebefore my flight back home and arrived at noon but the arcade doesn't open up til 2pm but the owner of Kidforce was there and opened it up for me to flip in early which was super generous. The machines also played really well and had a good mix from solid states through the latest Stern release, The Uncanny X-Men. Had a great time on the machines which range from $0.50 to $1 a play and even put up some initials. Definitely a fun spot to flip at and they also have video games. The owner mentioned to me that they are getting their liquor license soon so you'll be able to have a beer while you flip in the future!

I called Comic Heaven before making the drive and asked how much a box of cards would cost. I was…read moretold $100 per box over the phone. After driving about 20 minutes to the store, the owner suddenly changed the price to $120 per box. When I mentioned that I had been quoted $100, I was told, "That's not my problem. The guy on the phone is new. It happens every day." If pricing mistakes like that really happen every day, it's hard to understand how the business continues to operate that way. Customers shouldn't be expected to waste time and gas because employees aren't given accurate pricing information. The experience was made worse by the rude attitude. During my phone call, the employee even told me what the store had paid for the boxes, and once I arrived, the owner gave a different explanation about the pricing. The whole interaction felt dishonest and unprofessional. On top of that, many of the cards and packs were already priced higher than other local stores and online retailers. Based on my experience, I won't be returning and can't recommend Comic Heaven to other collectors. Zero stars !

It's everything that you'd expect from a bookstore - wood accents, endless shelves of books, zines, magazines, bookish souvenirs, and cute bookmarks. This bookstore often makes it to "must visit" CLE bookstores. Selection: Mac's has a wide range of literature from the timeless classics (think Jane Austen) to modern lit (think Emily Henry). There are three levels of books with genres ranging from romance to history. Each category is well organized and labeled. It's definitely the store to find eclectic reads on specialized topics. You'll also find new and used books, greeting cards, pretty journals, bookmarks, bookish totes, and other accessories at this store. You can order everything that you can't find at checkout. I historically purchased nature-inspired reads, and today Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" for my book club. It was a gorgeous and compact version for $15. Who doesn't love a compact book that you can take everywhere? Service: Service is consistently very friendly. They always ask you if you found all your reads in a genuine manner. I really enjoy my interactions with everyone at Mac's - employees and readers. Events: This book store hosts very interesting book events for the community. Open air poetry readings, silent readings at nearby Phoenix Coffee, haikus and meditations, book clubs, and other gatherings are hosted here. Check out flyers at their store or their Facebook page. I previously visited their event with typewriter printed poems for Valentine's Day and had a ton of fun! Parking: City parking garage is available across the street (free parking). There is limited street parking. Availability of the latter really depends on the time of the day. I highly recommend visiting Mac's if you're in the mood to browse. Make sure to check every corner, there are so many great finds for your TBR! Explore the area's dining spots in the Coventry neighborhood while you're visiting. There are some dining gems here!
