After casually browsing the Fabrica La Aurora art center, Jamie W and I were ready for a coffee break to take a load off. This spot provided a bucolic setting next to a duck pond. I understood the 'Coffee' part of its name, but I only found out later that the 'Geek' part refers to the availability of tech support for laptoppers who might need assistance. Since we were just charging our iPhones, we had no need for that half of their value proposition. We were here for the thirst quenching MX$50 Iced Cappuccinos (Photo 8). A MX$70 slice of their layered Apple Pie seduced us, so we indulged quite willingly (Photo 9). Sitting on a patio next to a nice patch of greenery, we enjoyed our brief respite here. My young grandchildren picked a couple of flowers from an altar. They're little children and didn't understand that the altar was an important tradition. The owner confronted the family and we were told to leave immediately. We tried to solve the issue otherwise but the owners were adamant. The owners 1). Insulted me for being American. 2). Told me to get the f--k out, and 3). Said chinga tu madre. They did this in front of my children. Two flowers. read more

The food is good and simple. Drinks are yummy. Many options! Service is ok, you have to go inside to order. I really like the vibe it feels like some friendly neighborhood restaurant. read more

Great spot for the kids to burn some energy as there's always another family there. The food menu is limited but what they have is good. Service isn't fast but everyone who works there is friendly so it's fine. A good stop if you have dragged your kids to Fabrica la Aurora and they are boooooored. read more

Beautifully set next to a playground in the back of the art compound. Small selection of options but perfect for a small snack after walking around looking at art. Food wasn't great but for the price and location it wasn't bad. read more

It's the most dog friendly cafe you could ever hope to find, almost a mini dog park, with large grounds and areas for dogs to run. It's a people's park as well with nice spaces to sit outside, inside, or in sheltered areas. Really nice selection of food and coffee. The staff is very friendly. read more

FIRST! we love it. Not sure what or why people give it three stars. It's a little cafe behind the art galleries. It's not a restaurant. You'd go there for a quick bite or snack. And that's what we do. Or early on Sunday before all the people and kids get There. The bagel egg sandwich is great. It's not a full service cafe or restaurant and I think from what I can see the oven is only a toaster oven but they do a great job. This is in the beautiful fabrica de aurora with a beautiful outdoor seating area and comfortable inside. Very good coffee but mediocre food, I probably wouldn't eat here again. It's good for kids, they have toys and space to play. read more

I would only go to G&C because I was spending the morning at the Fábrica and wanted a break. The food options are somewhat limited (the menu looks robust, but when we were there, G&C was out of about half of what was listed). The breakfast sandwich is decent - mainly because most things with melted sharp cheese are (the bagel is lackluster) and the coffees are fine but take a long time from ordering to delivery (we waited 15 minutes for cappuccino). The outdoor seating is lovely, and will make you forget how long you've waited for your drink. read more

Really great coffee shop with a bonus play space for kids to run around and a duck pond (with a fence) for my toddler to enjoy. In the back there are more kids' books and toys for them to play with. Great menu prices and good food options. I've already come here two or three times and so glad I am staying nearby! read more

I agree with the other reviews about the owner/managers being difficult to deal with. They are Americans who don't realize they're operating in a Mexican culture. The outdoor area is nice enough. But a coffee shop should know how to make decent coffee. They burn their espresso, the milk is thin, and the pastries are dry. Even the bagels they use for the sandwiches taste like they were picked out of a Costco freezer. Fortunately there's better coffee available in town elsewhere. read more

As tourists in San Miguel, we took a little leisurely walk around the Aurora fabric and somehow landed on the Geek&Coffee's underpopulated terrasse (backyard). We wandered around (yes! like tourists do, deal with it) for not even 3 minutes when a frowny tenant rushed towards us, asking if we wanted to order something. We said we were not sure just yet. She asked us to leave the premise because the terrasse is "only for customers". Lol. If we were not customers then, they made real sure that we never will be! I understand that you don't necessarily want tons of people who don't order anything on your terrasse but come on, the place was 3/4 empty and we were "loitering" for 3 minutes at most... I find that rude -especially from a place that seems tries to exude "the artist/bohemian" lifestyle. So fake. read more

Used to be a nice place to hang out after visiting LA Aurora, which lacks many options for some coffee. Then there is this option, first couple of times there was good enough coffee and a nice yard for a relaxing time. But then, last time, we had the very unfortunate experience of dealing with an employee who lacked any tact or manners to customers, including ourselves (we eventually realized why someone had erased part of the "pet friendly"chalk-written sign outside... like one MORE bad experience). This lady flat out threatened to kick us and our well-behaved but too imaginative (using toys in a different but in no way destructive manner, like climbing on one of those big little tikes houses...) children. Even then we could have obliged with such request, but and ultimatum! wow! Another man, seemingly the one sensible in that coffee place, offered an apology, so it was ok then. But then one of the mothers' decision to provide well intentioned and kind feedback was met with comments with highlights such as "keep a reign on you misbehaving children" and "Those are my sons toys" lets you know this owner is not quite so friendly and basically wants guests to pay so they play robotically with her son's toys... as perhaps her children do, or else be judged on your parenting. Wish there was a better option, which would be in this case, ANY option. read more

We love this place, hidden behind the parking lot of Fabrica la Aurora (past the duck pond). There are lots of delicious food and drink options, the staff is very friendly, and there is seating inside the coffee shop or outside under the trees. Dogs are welcome, there's free wifi, and you can even get help with your technology issues from the geek on staff. read more
