My father brought my asus rog zephyrus gaming laptop to this computer repair shop. After inspection, they told us that it had a simple power switch issue and that we would have to wait a long time for the parts to ship. My father called them several times for updates (since they never actively called us) and it took them 2 months for the owner tell us that it was ready to pick up. When we came by to pick it up, their manager made us wait 30 minutes for him to search for the laptop, saying he couldn't find it. He told us to go home and that he will call us next week. One week later, they still did not call us, so we had to call their store again. When we came to their store, their manager Ashok said somebody had already picked up the laptop, ALLEGEDLY. So in compensation, he gave us 3 options: either we buy a similar laptop from his shop, give us a similar laptop but dead, or accept around 80$ as compensation. All three options didn't seem fair, since the laptop costed us around 2000$ when we bought it 3 years ago, and should sell for at least 600$ upon writing this review. Buying a laptop from a store that couldn't even give us back our laptop also seemed like a bad idea. Since we couldn't get a proper refund or the laptop itself back, we decided to leave and send an email hoping for some sort of resolution to their mistake. It was only then through that complaint email that the store decided to inform us about the burnt motherboard and the actual issues that occured it to crash. Communication with this business is horrible, as upon asking for proper compensation in this email, they replied with only questions their manager already asked before (which took them 3 weeks to reply to my initial email). After answer all these questions in their reply, the store has yet to send anything back after a month now. In conclusion, don't trust them with you laptop since you may lose parts of your laptop (as stated in other reviews), or even the whole laptop itself.

DO NOT TRUST these shady crooks…read more The first time I had a feeling that they weren't totally above-board was when I'd gone in and looked around for a used laptop to buy (this was at their old location off Canotek Road). They had me pay upfront and told me that it would be ready for pick up in a few days after they'd done all the necessary diagnostics to make sure the item would be 100% ready to go upon pick up. However, when I went to pick it up a few days later, it wasn't the same laptop anymore -- they had pulled the ol' 'switcheroo' and were now trying to pass off an inferior product. When I called them out on it, they denied everything, of course, but were quick to give me my refund. A few years later, my HP desktop had crashed. So I went to a shop on McArthur Ave. Guess what? Same people, new location. I figured I'd give them a second chance. Maybe they learned from the first experience not to try any sneaky b.s. with customers anymore. Indeed, they got my PC up and running again, however, now I had an even bigger issue to deal with. You see, a few days later when I wanted to burn some CDs, I'd discovered that they'd removed (ie: stolen) my desktop's built-in Blu Ray player. When I contacted them about it, by this point my original Blu Ray player was long gone -- so they offered to replace it with a DVD player instead. Not acceptable. I just can't trust them anymore -- it's quite apparent that honesty is not their strong suit. I just decided to cut my losses and never deal with them ever again. You would be well-advised to look elsewhere for PC repair. Who knows what valuable parts they'll decide swap out of your PC?

After hearing many lowball offers they're not ghosted me when I demanded a fair price or my processor back. They offered me $600 and in a moment of desperation I accepted it, which is what I'm sure they were expecting me to do. However, they refuse to even honor the deal that they had clearly made me. Avoid at all costs if you don't want to get burned real bad.

First - the service...it took much, much longer to repair the iPad and Macbook than we ever would have imagined (approx. 5 weeks for the iPad and 2.5 months for the Macbook). Called multiple times, and was told that they would call me back, never to hear from them again. For a while, I actually thought that they had just taken my devices and left town. But I eventually reached them. Then when I got the devices back, there were serious problems. Within a few weeks, the screen popped off the one corner of the iPhone and then cracks appeared. They refused to honour their "6 month" warranty, claiming that we physically damaged the phone, but I can guarantee it was in a very high quality case and never dropped. The screen was low quality and just started popping out of the frame. The owner was extremely abrasive to me by email, refusing to honour the warranty and sending extremely long emails complete with swearing and insults about how he would not be fixing it. The iPad screen was also of a very low quality. Horizontal lines are faintly visible running up and down the screen and the screen flashes on and off, unless you are working on a flat surface. I have not tried to take it back in for repair because I don't want to be without a device for another 5 weeks +, and the experience with the iPhone was completely off-putting. The Macbook was repaired with a refurbished screen, which we were assured would be "like new". However, it had multiple dents are large scratches in it. I did not want to wait any longer for them to work on it, so accepted it as is, but was definitely disappointed to get it back in that state. All in all - I would not recommend. They are extremely rude and unprofessional and I have been very dissatisfied with the quality of their work.

Worst experience I have had from an electronic store…read more I went to buy a Nintendo Switch wireless controller. After explaining my requirements to the store representative, I was recommended a controller that I later discovered requires batteries. I had specifically mentioned that I wanted a wireless controller but the representative did not mention anything about the battery or charging options. Upon realizing the discrepancy, I immediately returned to the store on the same day to exchange the item for the rechargeable version which was available at the Store and is more expensive than what I had initially purchased. However, I was informed by the same representative that The Source does not allow returns or exchanges unless the product is damaged. This policy was never communicated to me at the time of purchase. Additionally, I feel that the representative lacked knowledge of the product range, as she did not provide multiple options despite other available options in the store. I had even shown her the product that I wanted, but there was no price tag on it, which led me to rely on her recommendation. Moreover, I find it unprofessional that the representative kept telling me that I should not expect a minimum wage worker to know all the products they have in the store. This comment was unnecessary and unhelpful, and it certainly did not meet the standard of customer service I expect from The Source. I emailed the Sources customer service department to find a resolution but they never reply to my email. I even called their main line and was told that only the store manager's could decide whether or not they can allow the exchange and there was nothing they could do about it. They made no effort into resolving this matter.
