Geico Shenanigans can cost you a lot financially and in distress... On June 19, 2023, an incident took place whereas my vehicle was stationary going through a tunnel car wash; and a corresponding claim was filed later on with Geico due to the fact that my vehicle sustained damage while going through the tunnel car wash (likely one of the mechanical arms of the car wash damaged my vehicle). The car wash in question was "Moo Moo Express Car Wash located at "5932 Chantry Dr., Columbus, OH 43232". Back then, when I called Geico, I emphasized the circumstances surrounding the incident (not an accident to begin with) and the nature of the incident. Also, I provided all the documentation (car wash receipt) and photos of the damaged fender (cosmetic damage for which the pattern of the damage also indicated that it very likely happened inside a car wash tunnel) that the insurer requested. At a later date, I noticed in some correspondence or paperwork (in paper or electronic form) that the expression "at fault" was present regarding my claim which then raised alarms; so, I sent an electronic message to Geico seeking clarifications, for what there has been zero response; then, I proceed to call Geico, and was informed that it was a mistake and that I had nothing to worry about. Recently, upon requesting a quote from another insurer for my vehicles, I found out that this incident was actually listed on my records as an "at fault" accident. That is truly absurd, made much worse considering I clearly explained the nature and type of incident that took place, provided all the requested documents, and was told by a Geico's representative at the time over the phone that the situation and circumstances surrounding the incident was understood and that it would never be listed as an "at fault" accident. Moreover, there is no police report of any accident, investigation or anything of sorts; what makes the whole matter even more absurd. Incidentally, I recall that at some point in 2024, there has been a large spike in the cost my car insurance with Geico on occasion of renewing my auto insurance with them. That spike did prompt me to call Geico in order to inquire about such spike in the cost of my car insurance; back then, I was told by a Geico's representative that the spike was due to increases in the cost of car parts, used car prices and overall costs - due to inflation and lingering supply chains issues related to the lockdowns, etc. In hindsight, it seems that it was never the case, but it was all due to the fact that they mischarecterized that incident in a car wash tunnel as been an "at fault" accident. One can only conclude that there has been a concerted, deliberate and systematic effort by Geigo with the aiming goal of falsely marking an incident inside a car wash tunnel as an "at fault" accident. The fact that they simply don't respond to electronic messages concerning issues of that nature ought to be a tactical move in order to not create a tracking records of their shenanigans and thus an integral part of their deceptive tactics. Ultimately, Geico's cloaked and deceptive efforts to deceive an insured driver and its deliberate, consistent and proactive intent to mischaracterized such incident inside a car wash tunnel as an "at fault" accident with all its financial repercussions and implications for the insured driver must have consequences. As an insured driver, having had such an absurd, inaccurate, illogical and false "at fault" accident in my records is a stain on my reputation and my driving records, and it also has been costing me a higher premium for car insurance in the past and for my current insurance. There must be consequences for rogue insurance companies that maliciously and proactively deceive an insured driver by harming his/her reputation and imposing undue and harmful financial costs to the said insured driver. So received a letter from GEICO indicating our Defensive Driver Discount was set to expire ($50 for 6 month period) so both my husband and I took the 3 hour refresher course. I called and spoke to several customer service reps. asking what email to send the completed certificates to and also to confirm the discount of $50 to our policy. Both reps said yes, discount is $50 and here is the email to send the certs. to. When we received our renewal 6 month policy just a few weeks later, the discount was now $39. I called Gieco today to possibly switch insurance companies to them and the women I talked to was very rude. I told her I was possibly interested in switching to Gieco for car insurance so I explained what I needed and I told her I got a new job and I'm making 2.5 times more money than I was a month ago and a month ago I had two jobs my regular job and I would do door dash on the weekends but not sure I was going to do door dash bc I make really good money now so I don't have to. My friend said GEICO was less expensive because they did everything by phone, mail and they didn't have offices space to rent. My friend was correct as I saved several hundred dollars a year. These days GEICO uses very entertaining marketing on television and by sending their gecko mascot to various events. I've met him at a couple running events. He's fun but I'm not buying. Your customer assumed responsibility for hitting my PARKED vehicle, and a 3rd party claim was made. I had to come out of pocket 300 dollars for a rental, and Geico stopped coverage on 1/24/24. The adjuster was to assess my vehicle on 12/29/23 and that was not completed. The body shop informed me of this, not the adjuster. In fact I only heard back from the adjuster on 1/11/24, and I was finally informed on what was happening. He told me that I would likely have to extend the car rental and to keep him posted which I did. 1/22/24 he told me I would have to return the rental. I Went through the timeline with him and further explained that all the delays were on Geico's end. The body shop only received the check from Geico on 1/16/24. The adjuster informed me that he would call his supervisor and let me know, if it can be extended and I never heard from him again I left him a message on 1/26/24 and never heard from him again. After being with Geico for more than 15 years. They canceled my insurance without my notice. I did not get a phone call, I did not get an email, and they claim to have sent a mail to my house. The only reason I found out that I did not have insurance was when the state sent me a bill for no insurance for both of my cars. (I had it set up where Geico took their payments every six months for over 10 years) I called Geico and they gave me no explanation for dropping me. Nothing. A broker did my insurance wrong. Lied about my address and when I was finally made aware of the issue, Geico never sent a message to their team to fix this. Then after a month of calling, they knew it was not my fault and still refuse to back date the insurance so I could keep my car. Very unprofessional and all I got was I'm sorry. read more

I have been a Geico customer for more than 12+years. However, Geico cancelled my auto policy without advance notice after I paid the premium due, and Geico did this to me purposely to force me pay 30% increases to re-start the same policy coverage. which created a huge inconvenience for me to quickly find another insurance to get coverage without slippage in days of being uninsured. I am now rating Geico as worst auto insurance provider in US. I would give negative rating if I could, because it does not deserve 1 star and I will report to Consumer Protection Agency and file claim against Geico for breach of insurance contract with its customers! read more
