WARNING!! Despite the large outdoor GEICO sign in the company's colors along with the GEICO posters and literature inside this large facility, IT IS NOT A GEICO OFFICE! They try to trick the public and will never disclose that it's a separate independent insurance agency that sells Geico policies and collects payments but will not and cannot provide any assistance to a customer with questions and problems because they can't. According to the manager there, they don't even have access to GEICO corporate or customer service. I did some due diligence and discovered that originally, it was a GEICO facility that handled auto and home policies like mine but a few years ago, they dropped the auto when this independent agency took over. I recently had a serious issue with my auto insurance over a ticket and have been to this office three times. Each time I was given a different instruction from one of the 10 workers. The predominant one was to call GEICO customer service or their corporate office and ask for a specific form lettter from Underwriting. I phoned both and talked for hours but neither, especially the customer service rep had ever heard of this letter or knew what to write or even knew anything about a Commack GEICO office. She suggested to have them call her but they refused again because incredibly contact was not allowed. All they were capable of doing was to give me some phone numbers. I don't know about you but I've had many different insurance companies and agents like these who were always out to help with problems because they had contacts with the companies they represented. This situation is unbelievable. If intent on buying a GEICO policy, do it on line. I'm not even sure if their misrepresentation is legal because everybody will assume that they are dealing with GEICO. I was a Director of FlightSafety Intl, a company that Warren Buffett, the owner of GEICO, bought for his Berkshire Hathaway group while I was there. If you knew him, he'd react in horror over this subterfuge. I'm thinking of contacting him. To give you an idea about how far removed this office is from GEICO, most of the employees their have never heard of Buffett because they don't qualify for any of the benefits. read more

I've had Gieco over 5 years. My bill just keeps getting higher so I will be leaving them. Customer service is very well with them but that's about it. If you get into an accident they will do everything they can to not pay. The commack NY location doesn't share the same Customer service as the rest of the company. I stood in there for more then 15 minutes waiting for someone to greet me and got nothing. Not even a hey we will be right with you. The people working there were looking right at me and blatantly ignoring the fact that I was in the building. read more

GEICO offered me the lowest car insurance rate but their website wouldn't let me finish signing up and their 800 number wouldn't let me past the auto attendant. Cary Nichols got me GEICO and lowered my car insurance by 50%. read more

I was overpaying during Covid when I hardly used my car so I checked out Geico after a friend said her bill was $27! They saw me on their website & called me & I ended up switchjng that day bc Mark G hooked me up with $200 less than I was paying at other agency! He also found a big discount bc I took Defensive Driving about 6 months ago! So grateful! read more

So as a client of Gecio for many years both home and car insurance I will now respond to the BS treatment afforded to me the other day My previous homeowners insurance had canceled writing policies in New York. The Geico office in Commack called me regarding and said that I would have to choose new insurance company. I decided to wait until the day my previous homeowners insurance would cancel which was October 13 I decided to wait until my previous homeowners insurance expired simply because I did not want to have double coverage if you will, and paying for that until the insurance expired. I decided to take a chance based upon the fact that insurance rates fluctuate which was my decision. I made full payment for the following year on October 13 only to find out that the policy went into affect the 14th with a 24 hour lapse in my homeowners insurance. No one in this office informed me that this would be the case. I spoke to a representative and asked him to simply refund me for the four dollars and change that my mortgage company was adding to now what would be an escrow account that didn't exist. Now with over two hours on the phone, speaking to the office representative and then the office manager that there was no way that this office could issue me a check and that they had no communication with the main Geico office to issue me a check. As usual, the office tried to portray that I was at fault for not taking the insurance earlier. Geico will now be losing my business on both my home and car over four dollar and change issue. What is ever happened to customer service when you make a mistake as a company error in communication to make the customer happy To also note, the mortgage company told me that since this happened that my insurance would now need to have an escrow account on my homeowners insurance. This Geico office in particular is AWESOME!! Been with "T" Now for couple years just got my son who is a fairly new driver insurance with rates LESS THEN HALF OF WHAT I WAS BEING QUOTED FROM OTHER MAJOR INSURERS so for me, my friends & family its a no-brainer if you need insurance just call T at geico!! Extremely disappointed!! I wanted to lower my monthly payment because I noticed it started to get high. The girl in the office (11/17/22 @ 4:25pm) told me no problem sign up for renters insurance and it will lower your monthly bill. So I did and IT DIDN'T! it lowered my car insurance bill but my monthly bill went up due to the renters insurance! The whole poi t was to lower my monthly bill - which i explained several times to thT girl and the guy she transferred me too! Then I wanted to cancel the renters and get them to reverse the payment they took but all the representatives ib was transferred to said they couldn't do that... And, 2 hung up on me!! I am so infuriated! So now, my car insurance bill will be late pending the renters insurance cancelation and return of that payment... How shady! What a way to run a business. I am a struggling single mother living paycheck to paycheck - inflation all around me! Don't know where Christmas money is coming from but, Geico decides now would be the best time to f**k with me... This is so n wrong, on so many levels. If anyone reading this review has any information on where else I should go about this shady business practice, please let me know. I drove to the Commack office because i was told i had to go in person to get a document off there letter head & notorized for the DMV in another state from my local office. We all know emailing and getting response with in hours doesn't always work. So i drove over & the doors were locked. I called & a women said she couldn't help me. So she gave me a number to call...after 45min on hold i hung up! Great customer service. read more

Have had GEICO for 7 years-no accidents..no tickets NOTHING! Raise my insurance $600.00 a year-I called them and some idiot named GREG tells me its sue to no fault of my own and living in NY is expensive. Thats a reason for a $600.00 increase?? Did nothing to try and help me or save me as loyal customer-Signed with another company for 1/2 the price for 1 year-same EXACT coverage. I advise GEICO customers to shop around. Just because you think you are saving money doesn't mean you are. Oh and best part...brain surgeon Greg tried to sell me renters insurance...I could have an additional $47.00!! WOW!!
