I had a nasty auto accident while on cross-country travel, and the insurance company they represent (Auto Owners) failed to provide the emergency roadside assistance benefit covered by the policy....leading me to use an unscrupulous tow company that literally stole my vehicle! Calling FIG in Meridian while stranded out of state with no transportation and nowhere to stay, I was immediately blown off by FIG, and told I had no claim!. No advocacy, no assistance, no attempt to get my car back, no rental car...nothing! When an agency doesn't have its policy holders' back, the client is dead in the water, as the insurer Auto Owners, based in Michigan, could care less and is happy not to pay any claim - which they didn't. When I asked FIG co-owner Jeff Pugmire for help again and complained about his lack of advocacy, his nasty response was, quoting, that I "should leave the agency if you don't like it." The logo for FIG should be a knife through the heart - and back - because these people are the essence of backstabbers. Collecting premiums is their only specialty. But when help is needed most after an auto accident or stolen car, they're missing in action--leaving the customer to rot and lose everything!!
