After more than a decade insured through GEICO with no tickets or accidents GEICO has chosen to discontinue my coverage because I drive for UBER. The ride share company covers my insurance while there are riders in your car at any given time which doesn't affect GEICO at all. This is very sad. Geico is very rude. My truck is in the shop which they will repair so I called then with more questions because the Chevrolet dealership found a problem that Geico will not cover, I looked it up and it was a recall on it before. The representative I spoke with was very rude. I was going back and forth between him and the dealership because the Geico rep said that it is a recall. They talked with an attitude and I feel like if the money is coming out of my pocket I have the right to ask questions. They act like they didn't want to pay for the reason my truck is in the shop (which is water damage). I had it checked out by my mechanic first. He said the same thing the dealership said but the dealership would have to do the programming, I gave them the number to my mechanic also. I still had to come out of my pocket but I think they need a class in customer service. I have been with them for years but seriously considering switching to another company. read more

GEICO has done everything possible to not give me my claim money leaving me with no money no vehicle no way to get to work I lost my job have repeatedly called to get my money nothing but execuses after they said my claim was settled a week and a half later they sent an email to claim my money Only to enter my debit card information twice and then said oops your session is cancelled and we'll mail it to you in another two weeks called support to send the email again to be told they have to wait 24hrs to resend it call back then to be told there's nothing they can do now it's already being mailed!! Geico is a very poor quality company.,They love your premium payments but hate to pay out claims. I put in one claim with the claim being $1974.00, with a $1,000.00 deductible and they wouldn't even pay the $974.00. Will never do business with Geico again! I am new comer to Orlando, I bought Geico insurance while buying my car from local dealer. Geico offered discount to me, asked me to join their DriveEasy program, but never told me their APP will track my gps location "Always in the background". This noon I went To their office, asked them for my privacy concern, they keep threading me on taking off that discount. I recently changed my address, i was aware with the rate may increased according to the APP, so I went to their shop to ask them, never thought while in shop, without my permission, Geico staff directly changed my address and increased my rate, charging me about 200 dollars more, effective immediately. I could never understand why living in a 'unsafe area' (they said) will make me have to pay more on insurance. Where people needs more help but I never received the real help from this Geico. While entering their shop I forgot to wear a mask, I asked them for a mask, they threw me a used one. I do concern my healthy in their shop. February 10, 2021 Yesterday on 6:39pm, Geico called me, tried to repeat their company policy to me. I asked them for their usage of my privacy GPS location data, they did not make it clear nor promised anything. During the phone call, they said at least 2 times something like "hate to lose business, but we won't keep you if you get another insurance company covers you". At the end of phone call, Geico said at least 2 times asked me to check with State. I told Geico, the problem is as customer, I did not ask you to make change on my policy, you aggressively made change for me, as outcome, I have to pay you about 200 dollars more. I should have my freedom/rights to choose, to be informed, to take the legal responsibility by my choice. After that, I have talked with another mate, I realized that could be discrymination there. I'm happy with Geico, since I switched from USAA but I'm not happy with this particular location, which happens to be the only one in town. Stick to phone if at all possible. I normally pay via debit card automated charge but I had an issue with my bank account so I went in to pay. You feel like you're in a collections call center, except you're there to pay, not be harassed to make good on an old debt. Ok this is legit the best insurance experience I've ever had. The women I talked to was BEYOND nice. We were getting renters insurance and she asked if we were excited to move and like if we HAVE a theme for our house and she told us she loved apples but has roosters now. She even gave us a great recommendation for a dinner place. And she got eveything we needed settled in like minutes. Plus there's an offer that if I "check in" I get a free water but she didn't know what it was so she like gave me one of her own waters. I'd definitely go here again. read more

So, if you were thinking of saving money by switching to Geico, don't! I have had the worse experience with them. They employ some of the most incompetent, hardly professional people, who appear to have little to no knowledge of car accidents. Seven weeks ago, yes 7 WEEKS AGO, I was hit by a driver who didn't yield to a stop sign. I was actually T-boned, spun around, hopped a curb with my entire car, and took out a light pole. Clearly, none of this was my fault, and everyone ruled the other driver was liable. Here's why you should NOT choose Geico for car insurance. Weeks go by, no word from anyone about my repairs. At this point, I didn't even know if it was totaled or not. Turns out the adjuster hadn't even gone to look at the car. After, 2 weeks and 4 days, Geico comes to adjust the damages. Not once did I get a call from anyone at Geico, not even the shop it was at. On Jan 5, I call the shop and they say it's actually in detailing and I could get it today! Great, it's been 6 weeks since my accident. I go to the shop and I find out they didn't adjust the repairs for the bumper, which took out the light pole, and the 2 right wheels were still bent, as I had gone over a curb! Also, to make matters worse, Geico failed to send the shop, or I, a check for the repairs!!!! So, I wait another week for her to readjust my car, only to find out that the other wheel on the left was still bent as well! So now, I'm 7+ weeks without my car, and have had to leave work early to pick up my car 2 times now! You have been warned! These people are kind of idiots. Or maybe today was just my unlucky day. My father-in-law asked me to take his car for a vehicle inspection while he is out of town. I called ahead of time to ask several questions in hopes of avoiding any delays as I was walking in with a 16 month old with a short attention span. I asked, "Do I have to make an appointment," "I am doing this as a favor for my father-in-law--is this a problem?" A guy on the phone answered, "No appointment necessary, come right in. There is a box on the form to allow for non-vehicle owners bringing vehicles in for inspections, so not a problem." So I get down there, and am greeted with a line of people. I wait for them to finish up and then continue waiting. A man came in after is immediately greeted by one of the four employees who are loitering up at the counter. I assumed he had some kind of status relationship with the business or perhaps he had popped outside to do something and then come back in, rather than admitting I was overlooked. I continued to wait patiently. But when a second customer walked in and was greeted and immediately and tended to, I started to get the rage. At this point, we're talking 20 minutes of me waiting with a very antsy toddler. Not fun. Finally I walked up to the counter and asked one of the four employees hanging out there if they could assist me. They all exclaimed that they thought I was there with some other party. NOPE. Then, I explained why I was there and was told that I had to be a policy holder in order to do the vehicle inspection. Totally NOT what the guy on the phone told me when I called earlier. I am a service member, and I was subject to credit card fraud recently. I called them to change my credit card, and they cancelled my insurance. When I called, the customer service agent didn't care at all and they didn't even send me notice. They told me the only way I could get insurance again was to do a whole new policy, which they would charge me 299.00 which I can't afford. The two agents I spoke to were cold, and unsympathetic.
