Salted Chocolate with Almond
Mitch E.

Very rarely do I find myself craving ice cream of any kind, but when I do, I never want anything boring. Gelateria Cremona is a great little outlet in Rosalie with an authentic vibe and some great desserts. Contrary to your standard ice creameries, that go hard in sugar and chocolate chunks, the gelateria showcases a wide range of inspired flavours. The rotating roster has included some favourites like banana and cinnamon, biscotti, Anzac biscuit, and my favourite, salted chocolate with almond and caramel. The ice creams (or gelati - I'm sure there's some difference that I'm not sure about), come in different sizes, from take home packs to small sample sized tubs. For the proper experience though, I reckon you can't go past the waffle cone. They also have a good variety of fruit sorbets for those that put away too much dinner beforehand, but I've never managed to be swayed from the creamier options. A must try for anyone in the area with a sweet tooth.

The best gelato in Brisbane! Don't listen to anyone else, trust me. This is the only gelato bar worth going to. I would drive many miles to eat this gelati but thankfully it is just down the road from me. I have to restrain myself from going there all the time otherwise I would burn a hole in my pocket. What makes this place so special is their unique falvours which are usually in theme with the current holidays/events such as 'Xmas pudding' for Christmas, 'Rose' for mothers day and so forth. Some of the flavours I've had here include 'Earl Grey', 'Orange and Date' and 'Baci chocolate'. If you are unsure what flavour to get, don't worry the staff are used to it and are more than willing to give you a sample to help you out. The location of this place is perfect as it is close to all the trendy Rosalie restaurants making it an excellent post dinner treat.

The service was excellent, we were served straightaway with several samples given and no fuss. The flavors were well-balanced and not overly sweet. This is in stark contrast to the overrated Gelato Milany on Racecourse Road, which is a shame because we are locals in that area. we try to avoid gelato Milany because of that shocking service and unoriginal flavours. PS. Baruna road is relaxing with mature trees and good atmosphere. Four out of five, because the only place that would get a five in Australia is gelato Messina in Darlinghurst.

Grapefruit and Campari. It was slightly bitter for my taste, but was refreshing. I would go back to try the gelato over sorbet.

Perfect Pizza! Glad we found this spot. Very close to public transportation. Looked for the best…read morereviews of pizza in Brisbane and Julius popped up. Took us a while to figure out where we were and how to get there. Actually not hard at all. We arrived and it was very crowded. Luckily we got a seat in the corner by a window close to the action(the kitchen where the pizzas were cooked). A few slices of focaccia were served with olive oil prior to our pizza and its was wonderful. Then the main event arrived and it was beautiful. And it tasted equally as great. The sausage pizza with arugula. It was awesome. Might want to make a reservation for this great place. Its is very popular. Highly recommend the sausage pizza.

For food we ordered: * Salscicca Pizza - this had sausages and arugula which was delicious and refreshing and came with 6 slices * Fried Calamari - this was absolutely DELICIOUS, super soft and tender - this is a must get here *Vanilla Pana Cotta - this came with poaches pear, hazelnuts & caramel sauce which was delicious Overall, great food and felt very fresh. Would definitely recommend to check this place out!

FRESH OFF THE MENU! Billy Kart West End is open, & 2nd Billy Kart cafe restaurant owned by Chef Ben…read moreO'Donoghue. Located at the new Botanica Residences by ARIA Property. It's so new, that the "Billy Kart Provisions", a deli next door is still being finalised. Thought we'd go undercover & get a taste of the place for ourselves, expectations fairly high as we do love the Billy Kart Kitchen in Annerley. We liked the quirky yet trendy feature wall which displays deconstructed parts of a Billy-Kart. We were here for breakfast; a simple menu yet diverse in its offering from Spanner crab & scallop congee, to "liege waffles". A range of savoury as well as sweet "waffle & pancake" options with prices from $6 - $21.50 & additional "sides" $4.50 - $7. We decided on the savoury; Carne Asada, fried eggs, habanero salsa, chicharrones, & corn tortilla ($18.50). This dish is absolute tops! Ever so tender pulled pork, perfectly complimenting the crunchy textures of the tortilla & chicharrones. One of the best & unique versions of pulled pork we've had in terms of flavour & a big serving. However, this dish does have a spicy chilli kick, so if you're not that way inclined, it may be too early for your palate (as a breakfast dish) to handle. We also ordered the Buttermilk & Ricotta pancakes, with coconut caramel banana ($16). The pancakes themselves were light, fluffy & whilst ricotta isn't something you will necessarily taste, it adds a magical creaminess to each bite. The coconut caramel sauce though was excellent. Perfect consistency & just the right sweetness, so it didn't overpower the banana flavour as well, but add to it. Service was great, being only their second day & quieter in patronage, I suppose it was easy to get served. But the staff were always friendly, welcoming, & had great suggestions with what dishes to try. Coffee is by Campos Coffee, (& although it's not our fave), it was made well by the barista. Great work Billy Kart West End! Will be back!

Friendly, relatively fast service. Has high chairs. The food is not particularly baby/toddler friendly though. Beware, even thought they are open throughout the day, their kitchen closes for a bit just before lunch for the switch over between breakfast and lunch. So if you happen to turn up during that time, you can only order drinks.

It's such a beautiful space, from the 7.5m brass bar, custom glazed porcelain lights, back lit shelves, & a charcuterie cabinet at the end of the bar (which will form the basis for a very simple menu in the coming weeks). Maker's menu has a strong focus on Australian wines, beer, and spirits; with the sophisticated cocktail menu an adventurous interplay of flavours, like nothing you'll find anywhere else in Brisbane.Prepared with flair, artistry, & unique techniques, having a cocktail at Maker is a feast for the senses. Try the "Whisky Wax Coffee", a combination of Whisky, coffee, beeswax, pollen, macadmia ($22), and watch how it's prepared. Served in artisan glassware with sphere ice-cubes, & some of the famous black garlic bread from Gauge. We also tried the Starward (Australian) whisky as well as another cocktail not on the menu. It's one of the main benefits of being in such a small bar, that one can have meaningful conversations with the bartender, request a cocktail based on your particular flavours, adding to the overall bespoke experience. Maker has arrived, and it is a game changer.
