The visit took way too long considering it was mainly for a shot and prescriptions. On top of that, the nurses forgot to put my results into the system, which added to the inconvenience. I also brought my wife and two kids in because I didn't want my wife having to manage both kids by herself while we waited. When the nurse came in, she gave them a look like they were an inconvenience for being there, which was unnecessary and unprofessional. The biggest issue for me was the nurse's attitude. I have a preference on shot location and have never had an issue with that at other urgent cares. Most nurses are understanding and willing to work with the patient's comfort level. This nurse was not. She came across as unpleasant and dismissive. I went here for convenience, but after this experience and seeing similar concerns in other reviews, it seems like this may be a common issue. I've never had these types of problems with UTMB and will likely go there moving forward.

I was immediately greeted at the front desk and asked for my insurance/driver's license. She asked what pharmacy I preferred. Despite being in a great deal of pain, I conjured an answer to all of her questions. In less than 10 minutes, I was called to the back of the facility. First, the nurse saw me to check for vitals; her personality was funny, nice, and honest. I briefly explained to her what was going on with me. She made light of the situation by making me laugh which I appreciated as I was a bit afraid and stressed. Then, the nurse practitioner, Sheta walked into the room to assess me. She off the bat told me that in-house they did not have any imaging machines to diagnose me. She referred me to Memorial Hermann Community Care Clinic which is essentially a free-standing emergency room. Although, they could not help me with my medical needs; I appreciated the quickness of everything.

This urgent care has a lot of things that I like in general for medical facilities: extremely clean, parking spaces galore, fast elevator, and virtual visit options. I wasn't exactly loving the curt receptionist who seemed bothered by my last minute visit, but was able to get my insurance / co-pay straightened out rather quick. Because I didn't make an appointment, I was relegated to waiting around for 3 hours. Eventually when it was my turn to be seen, I was in the room waiting another 40 minutes before a doctor came in to see me. It was a holiday, so the crew was stretched thin at the time. The doctor was able to figure out quickly that I had an ear infection and a super inflamed ear canal. He inserted a cotton wedge in and applied some prescription level ear drops which made me feel better almost instantly. He was professional, friendly, and answered all of my questions. This is the kind of bedside manner I can get behind. Because of his outstanding care, I was able to feel better in just over a day. it was one of the worst ear infections I've ever had, but I will always be thankful I came here to get some immediate relief. I would suggest to most folks to make an appointment and submit the forms online if at all possible to speed up the process.

The nurse practitioner, Sherry, was very sweet and informative! She really seemed to know about ear infections and cared about my pains! She prescribed me medicine for pickup at my local pharmacy and she encouraged over the counter medicines I could also take! I appreciate the attentiveness she had. The lobby was empty and I was escorted into an examining room straight away and administered a BP monitor which indicated an elevated blood pressure.
